I bought the album when it came out, great live album. Dynamic and soothing at the same time. Still on the rotation.

You know it's weird, the live version on this cd sounds a LOT better and fuller than the original studio version.

Not weird at all. Trent said years ago that NIN live is a completely different animal than the studio version of the band, which is mostly just him.

Jerome Dillon is still to this day my all time favorite NIN drummer.

So underrated. He shaped the NIN live sound that Ilan and Josh played Jerome's drum parts instead of creating new ones.

I wonder if they have a lights DJ doing all of this semiautomatic but man.... if it's mostly someone actually doing it themselves that's impressive too 😁
    Wonder what it's like too

The aatchb version of HLAH is the best i've ever heard live. The sound is more electronic.

Lol, I remember showing this to my Mom back in the day. And she said the drummer looked like he was dead, meaning a dead person. My dad was a Pastor and had pasted away a few years after this tour. He left e find my way.

Maybe their Best lineup and period, The Fragile placed T. Reznor at the peak of creativity and talent, and even earlier tracks sounded better into that scheme.

How does one maintain rawness aggression anger disturbances hatred, inspiration perspective, that edge? Whilst having your shit together and maintaining a good life? lol Cause I noticed as the years go by and many amazing artists clean up their act and go even more huge then they already were, they lose that ...that edge. Yah know? Like I'de like to be sitting in a huuge billion dollar studio lol or a huge house with other producers and some how hold on to that crazy dark edge..

very interesting insight. Often pondered this myself. I don't know if there is ever an adequate substitute for true suffering and desperation.

It’s heaps of style multiplied by immense substance. Ilan Rubin doesn’t suit NIN. His cymbals are too large and his kit too deep. It drowns out what needs to be clarity for electronic music. Rubin is a fantastic drummer though but JD is the NIN natural drummer. He just plays NIN better than any human. He is obscene. Maybe not quite as good as Josh the fucking Maschine Freese...I’m not sure...Freese monsters some NIN songs but he’s h8man. Jerome Dillon is an alien. The 1st and 2nd chorus in Piggy...the most awe inspired drumming I have ever seen as a drummer myself. It’s really simple until the two 8 bar choruses. I didn’t realise what he was when I only had the CD. When this DVD came out and I got glimpses of the shuffle on the hi hat and a roll on the snare...it does sound dimples does it not!
      Back to the paradiddlediddleing!

@@plusquamperfekt0423 I saw NIN in London with Rubin drumming and it then made sense. I was wrong about Rubin but it still makes sense about the drowning out the high electronics of the NIN sound. But weirdly it doesn’t. Ilan Rubin deserves to sit alongside with Freese and Dillon on the NIN throne. He’s fucking nuclear. I’m a drummer myself. Rubin hits as hard as anyone including Bonham and the metal drummers who I’m not keen on. Only Piggy he gets wrong and the intro to Head like a hole. But no one gets that intro right.
