This is a good subject to talk about especially with the Big 4 PPVs. There's a few I was aware about but I'm interested in seeing some other ones mentioned here.
Here's a couple: Survivor Series 2002, Lance Storm & William Regal were advertised to face Goldust & the Hurricane but it was pushed to Sunday Night Heat. The next year 2003, Jamie Noble was scheduled to challenge Tajiri for the Cruiserweight championship but that too got pushed to Heat
So interesting to think about what if Bad News doesn't leave the company and that spot isn't there for Taker to debut on this night, imagine how different history would be
Back To Back Survivor Series Scenario: Survivor Series 1995 Wild Card: Marty Jannetty and Avatar aka Al Snow Under A Mask Survivor Series 1996: The New Rockers, Marty Jannetty and "Leif Cassidy" aka Al Snow
The 1999 WWF Survivor Series began a chain of events that would lead up to WrestleMania XVI on April 2, 2000. It would be the insertion of The Big Show into The Triple Threat World Wrestling Federation Championship Match replacing "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. That changed everything.
A little note on Lawler's Knights in 1993: they were supposed to be Valentine, Terry Funk, and Jimmy Snuka and they were all supposed to be unmasked. However, Snuka feel through and Funk said his horse was sick so only Valentine was left as the Blue Knight. The other two got replaced by Jeff Gaylord and Barry Horowitz. Because of those being somewhat lackluster names, the unmasking idea was scrapped as well.

I absolutely hate Survivor Series since they went to War Games. How about instead of one fall, the match continues until all members of one team are eliminated?
"Spark Plug" Bob Holly replaces Avatar aka Al Snow under a Mask as he was in a bad place professionally at the time which is why a few years later, Al went crazy and made friends with Head 😂 And they were members of The J.O.B. Squad. Go figure.
5:00 Davey's IC title loss to Shawn Michaels was already booked to go ahead before he was fired. Shawn was supposed to be the next IC champ anyway, Davey was only added as interim champion to give the ending of Summerslam in London that extra bit of spice.
3;48 What's forgettable about Boris Zhukov being on The Mercenaries? For one thing he was Nikokai's ex-Bolsheviks tag partner so a natural matchup there. For another thing, he and Slaughter had feuded in the AWA so it made nice sense for Traitor Slaughter to ally with him (see also Adnan and later on Mustafa/Iron Sheik). Finally it was also a secret reunion of the Cobra Corps tag team from 1983 Jim Crockett Promotions when Zhukov - then known as Private Jim Nelson - was Slaughter's tag partner - along with fellow Private and Slaughter's NWA World Tag Team Championship partner (and Nelson's Mid Atlantic tag championship partner) Don Kernodle (who in '83 was in the WWF with his next NWA tag title partner Ivan Koloff before they both returned to JCP in 1984 to introduce Nikita) - before Nelson turned babyface on Slaughter and Kernodle and feuded with them. So there was a lot of interesting back history there.
The Greatest Survivor Series Replacement. The Perfect Survivor Series Replacement. Mr. Perfect of course. Completing "The Perfect Team". It's easily the Best Survivor Series Moment of the Early 90s. Savage couldn't ask for a better partner than Perfect Himself.
Maybe or maybe the plan was to always bait and switch the audience Had Borne not been fired they could have had Matt Borne(original Doink), Steve Keirn(Doink #2 at Mania IX), Ray Apollo(Face Doink), & Steve Lombardi(Played Doink numerous times) be the Four Doinks
I feel like, even with Borne fired, they could've basically put any jobber in the doink make up, without anyone even noticing and it would've still been 4 doinks! Had Warrior not left in 1991, it would have been Warrior, Bossman, & LOD vs. Jake, IRS, & Natural Disasters and had Beefcake not got injured in 1990 it would have been Warrior, Beefcake, & LOD vs. Perfect & Demolition.
Warrior didn't just leave in 1991, he was fired after the main event at SummerSlam that year for holding up the show for more money that he felt Vince owed him. He told Vince that unless he gets paid what he felt Vince owed him, he was not going to go out for the main event handicap match made in hell with Hulk Hogan against the Triad of Terror (Sgt. Slaughter, Gen. Adnan and Col. Mustafa a.k.a. The Iron Shiek)

The one 'card subject to change' I hated was when they replaced Austin with the Big Show. I know Austin needed surgery but come on. The way they wrote him off the DAY OF THE SHOW really was just the worst. Question, for ya. Do you think the one I mentioned was the worst bait and switch, or are there other ones in your mind was the worst?
Still mad we never got that Austin/HHH/Rock triple threat match, maybe Mania X7 could of did it, seeing for some reason they had HHH beat Austin at No Way Out 2001
They had HHH beat Austin at No Way Out because originally they were planning to do a title program post-Mania between the 2, with Hunter going babyface as Austin was turning heel
@@WeAreProWrestling I know he had feuded with King Harley Race earlier in the year, but was there any reason for JYD to have been in the match? To be perfectly honest, it made more sense for Steamboat to be on the team, even if he was in the doghouse by that point.

What i didn't like it was 4 vs. 5 in Survivor Series 2007. I still feel that Team Triple H should have gotten someone to replaced Matt Hardy. Because in past Survivor Series and others that came after this one if a wrestler is unable to wrestle in the match the team would get a replacement. They should have gotten a replacement in my opinion.
Yes they should've replaced Matt in that match, but since they couldn't, it was what it was. Same with No Way Out 03 (different subject but hear me out) when Edge was attacked seemingly by Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin before the 6 man tag team match and it became 3 on 2 with just Chris Benoit and Brock Lesnar against Team Angle.
@@Connor-ki8zv In storyline they could have gotten someone to replaced Matt Hardy. I could have named a quite a few wrestlers that they could have picked.
House shows used to have this happen all the time. advertised a number of big name wrestlers facing each other. But, ended up 1 of each match replaced with a nameless jobber except for the main events.
Pause at 2:53. Wow. I never saw Bad News Brown as being on the 1990 Million Dollar Team. What an amazing switch!!!!! Pause at 3:23. Again, wow!!!!!!! I never heard what team Rude was to be on at the 1990 S.S.. Pro wrestling is not nearly as good without Bobby "the Brain" Heenan.
The one I disliked the most was the Shawn Michaels replacing Jerry Lawler because they played it as if Shawn Michaels had been the one insulting Bret's parents the whole time and the fans were all idiots that wouldn't notice.
For the triple threat WWF title match in 1999. Solomonster talked about it and said in his opinion Test should’ve been added in instead. And he made some good points on why and I agree. Test was pretty popular. Not like Stone Cold & Rock. He got reactions when his music hit. And the whole thing with the wedding with Stephanie that happened it could’ve added more to the feud (if you wanna call it that) with Test and Triple H battling over the WWF Title and the hand of Stephanie instead of having Tets pretty much be punked out by DX every time and never get his payback on some form. Plus Test wasn’t in action that night. Although it would’ve changed what happened with Big Show afterwards. Don’t know if it would’ve still went the same with Big Show and everything that happened at the Royal Rumble, No Way Out. & WrestleMania. Now saying that do you think Test should’ve been it instead of Big Show?
@@WeAreProWrestling yep. Test would have 2 reasons to get his hands on Hunter. He’s after the title and he “forced” Stephanie to marry him. Would’ve made more sense indeed. Better than getting punked out every chance. Test never got any form of payback. Just had DX beat him up every week on Raw & Smackdown.
@@WeAreProWrestling only thing is would Big Show still had the run he had or would Test been the guy instead. Test with Shane McMahon at WrestleMania makes sense. They became friends and are looking to payback Hunter and get that title back
@@bigjoeofthe707 It's such bullshit that Test never got any revenge on Trips in this era and got sent back to midcard hell pretty much right after his involvement with Stephanie ended. He wasn't the best in the ring by any stretch, but he deserved way better than to be dumped like he was (no pun intended). That said, I have heard in past Big Show had a deal in his contract when he joined the WWF the previous February, to win the title within his first year. If that's indeed true, had to be why he got the spot at Survivor Series. Really makes little sense and is completely out of left field otherwise. May explain why his run as champ was so short and unmemorable too.
@@ajk ya know that does explain it. Cause if I recall in 2000 it was said that Big Show got a bit of a big head and out of shape. Hence he got busted down to OVW for both conditioning and humbling. I think it was Undertaker’s idea. But either way Test seemed more logical since he was involved in the babyface McMahon family-DX feud. He was in 2 survivor series style matches on Smackdown back to back weeks (him, Shane McMahon, Rock, & Stone Cold vs DX than another but with Kane replacing Stone Cold who was the enforcer). Cause Big Show just came outta nowhere into the title picture and winning the title
A lot of different things have been said over the years(back injury, creative differences, personal problems) Though if I had to guess it had to do with his back so that way he could cash back in on his Lloyds of London insurance policy
@@WeAreProWrestling Yeah I remember the '93 Survivor Series well. It was at the old Boston Garden. It felt kinda weird when both Hennig and Lawler weren't on the show, even though they were originally advertised. Then Owen started turning heel on Bret. I also remember Bobby Heenan was hilarious at ringside playfully mocking Stu Hart saying "hey Stu, wake up!" That was Heenan's last PPV with WWE and I wish he stayed.
Now I know why it's called, 'Survivor Series,' cause you're lucky if you survive getting replaced on the main card! EDIT: You said you weren't hating on Maven, but I KNOW you're hating on Jinder. You 'hinder the Jinder!'

Or when a wrestler got fired or suspended did a change in card take place
Pause at 2:53. Wow. I never saw Bad News Brown as being on the 1990 Million Dollar Team. What an amazing switch!!!!!
Pause at 3:23. Again, wow!!!!!!! I never heard what team Rude was to be on at the 1990 S.S..
Pro wrestling is not nearly as good without Bobby "the Brain" Heenan.
The photo with Bad News wasn't released until years after the fact
I've had that same thought as well; it should have been Test that night
Would have made the most sense storyline wise
Scott Casey trained Booker T.
Didn't Nia replace Mickie in 2017? At least according to the graphic
Why did Curt Hennig leave WWE in 1993 just before Survivor Series?
A lot of different things have been said over the years(back injury, creative differences, personal problems)
Though if I had to guess it had to do with his back so that way he could cash back in on his Lloyds of London insurance policy
Scott Casey was on Jake's team.
Now I know why it's called, 'Survivor Series,' cause you're lucky if you survive getting replaced on the main card!
EDIT: You said you weren't hating on Maven, but I KNOW you're hating on Jinder. You 'hinder the Jinder!'
Did not like him as champion
Triple H replaced Jason Jordan in 2017 because Jordan suffered a career ending neck injury.
Jason suffered his neck injury a little while after Survivor Series; he was still wrestling into January
