If AEW wants to build-up Takeshita, they should book him to win the Continental title, make him a double champion. It would make sense because they been teasing a Takeshita vs Okada match, since All In.
The classic really solidified Eddie as a star. He deserved it too. Should be used to make guys. I’d love to see Garcia of old from his indie days or a Gabe Kidd. I’d really love to see Jay white get it though. I want him as champion so bad
I think it'd be really fun if over the years White has the edge over Okada, Okada has the edge over Cassidy, and Cassidy has the edge over White - that would be a really fun triple threat
I really enjoyed this vid ( I agree Sammy has been stale and I had I’ve been thinking it would be cool for him to adopt Chris Jericho 2008 in a suit gimmick just to give him sum even change his moveset up a lil since of course the high flying stuff is seen as more of a baby face thing )
This was an incredible way to do this years continental classic, and I loved the ideas you had for it, the stories that it tells and continuing to tell other stories going on right now and it was a great approach at the whole thing, definitely want to stick around for more man, great job
Worst booking ... you did not even add hangman, kyle fletcher , pac, malakai black, rush, darby allin. You miss many big names ...you are adding sammy orange cassidy type wrestler I don't think they gonna pull off. I think this tournament is the place where major storyline will be created not just the continental tittle this tournament will create some awesome feud just like g1.I think u should create more compelling storyline and feud
Adam Cole is going to be occupied with MJF, which they will face off at World's End. Hangman is occupied with Jay White, and Darby Allin will go after Jon Moxley, which he will face at World's End
It's hard to squeeze every big name in a block of 12. You just rattled off half of a field that are all great wrestlers, but also have stuff to do elsewhere with one another and gain nothing from being in this tournament because it doesn't align with their goals. There's enough star power and storytelling going on in Johnny's booking surrounding the actual midcard titles in play, along with enough up and coming talents and pin eaters (which every round robin style bracket needs) that gain plenty by simply being in the tournament as active competitors on TV moving a narrative along and raising their own stocks with their performances.
I nearly had many of them in but so many of those guys will be in big stories. I’m hoping we get Hangman v. Mox at World’s End but I could easily see Hangman in this tournament and possibly winning it. They can further the Ospreay and Fletcher story in this tournament but I don’t think it’s needed.
