As an older person, let me give some suggestions. Please make the close closets in the master bedroom first, then you can move in and have privacy. Secondly, as one from Jamaica and was accustomed to water lock offs. If your bathroom fixtures are connected to the waste pit, you can use pails of water to flush the toilet, remove the tank cover and fill it with water. Also, bathe from the pails. I know you also have the outside bathroom and toilets. All this can be done before the tank connection to the bathroom and kitchen.
I hear the excitement in your voice, and I can see you are ready to move in.

Nasto, you have a spare room that you use as a storage room. That is a guest room along with whatever else you build. You can make a small mabati storage for your cement and tools next to the dog house or on the other side of the toilet. If you build a small house in your suggested area, you may block the natural light that enters your living room and kitchen. You should reconsider and build further down by the gate. Are you still planning on building your dream home on the property? Do you have a design and where the potential house will be built? This way, you will have a much better plan of how the compound will look and the traffic flow.

Nasto, this video has been great and nice to watch. It’s because you raised important items in relation to your new home and sought opinions of your audience. I spent time and went through some of the comments put forth for your perusal; and I must say that Nasto, you have a very good audience and their opinions are very sincere and critical. It takes a mature and responsible audience to own the channel and give some of those opinions. From my perspective; it’s true that in a typical African home, you would notice several cottages; but this comes with time as the children grow to initiation and adulthood, hence the need to have their own privacy. Over the years our aptitude towards such a nature of a homestead has faded away as we adopt to modernity. These days a typical home would have a three bedroomed house where the master bedroom would be reserved for the parents as the bedrooms 2 & 3 for daughters and sons respectively. A significant portion of parents of this era in Africa upto perhaps my generation went to school and are now retired professionals. They were strict about discipline and education as a way of setting a good example in the community. Letting children on their own autonomy would mean that a lot is compromised on matters discipline emerging from too much freedom. Visitors come and go as they cannot be given a permanent remedy; however, they can not fail to find a place to spend for a day or two. Of course a visitor can not be condoned for more than two days with the present economy. Nasto, the rationale for your decision to have an additional house is clear, just make sure that you do not dot your beautiful homestead with so many little houses. I remember vividly on one of the visits by @iam_marwa to your project, he did mention to you in open that “Nasto, I told you to put up a dream house from the very start”. Not emphasizing very much on that, just ensure that in your next project, you do not have to spend so much resources my brother. Liam & Ms Fle are looking at you as their head, hence, your resources need to be safe for the uncertainties of the future. Then please avoid flat roof or butterfly roof. Just pitch an ordinary roof. Btw flat roofs were architecturally designed for the deserts to protect houses against fast moving windstorms that would easily crumble down any pitched roofs. Good luck 🎉🎉🎉

White Vinegar diluted with water cleans well. Bicarbonate of soda with a little soap and water clean well. Floor tiles, tiles on the walls, effective and affordable! Remarkable improvement! God is merciful! Blessings

the one-bedroom cottage sounds like a good idea. However, my idea is to finish your present house completely, doing the underground water tank and kitchen cabinets, then move in before starting any more construction. You also need an upgrade to the present solar system. I would put off buying the bricks for now, move in and draw up a good plan for the secondary house.
Just suggestion. Learn from the construction of the current house.

I was thinking the same, yes nasto please slow down, finish this house completely, like cabinets, closets, furniture, curtains, rugs, ect, then the cottage. Nasto that's a great idea it call a bungalow or a cottage. 1 Bedroom a bathroom and a open kitchen like a vacation home setting. Please go ahead with whatever you are thinking the Brain is Positive.
Use "Pledge furniture cleaner" or Old English wood Protector and Cleaner"......the glass cleaner will destroy the wood. You should easily find the two in your super market.

I constructed an underground tank 3 years ago in Mombasa where i encountered very challenging unstable soil. So, I gathered ideas and listened to the local fundis and we came up with similar steps ,well thought and concrete to possible cracking.
Eventually despite the high cost, it turned out very stable and worth investing. A submersive pump system with autostop system helps runs everthing smoothly.The water capacity is more than enough year round. For more information I will gladly answer.

Nasto, this is a fairly good starter home. I admire your effort. I just wish you had taken the advise of people to have an enclosed glass shower cubicle in your bathroom. Then your bathroom would have been modern. You can still add that enclosed shower area.
For many it can be a dream home. Not a starter home. And a glass cubicle doesn't make a bathroom mordern, his bathroom is till modern.
@@Gideonfinancial a glass cubicle (enclosed shower area) or a bath tub does make a bathroom modern. Modern bathrooms are not open wet rooms the way Nasto and Marwa have theirs. If you are not yet caught up with modern bathroom designs in the world, please don't comment.

I think two bedroom will be okay with an outside kitchen,there are normally called a guesthouse ..build a 2 bedroom house that will be a good idea

Nasto - my suggestion for now is to clean the storage room for Yeyo. Build the two room cottage down nearer to the gate; what happened to the shop idea? Remember your dream house was going to be in the middle of the compound. Don’t crowd your two bedroom home with another structure. My thought.
Very good idea but in the USA u can build a long designed house called studio apartment..Bedroom,living , small bathroom and small kitchen all in one but 4 long together all joined together..Economical ❤❤❤❤

Just build a guest wing, two rooms, each self contained. Like mayugunos store, but add toilet and on each room
Just a thought, I think you could construct about four single rooms within that space, one for yeyo and the rest for anyone else whi chooses to visit.they could be built one by one,no rush for the rest,,,, let's say yeyo Is there and someone else wants to visit,can't put him out,,,think about it,,coming from pascall in trinidad,that's in the caribbean
Yes more units will be better to accommodate more visitors or even act as an Airbnb.The single rooms can be done like bedsitters self -contained.

Nasto an advice on top of the underground tank you can build a storeroom and use the storeroom on the house as a bedroom for guest for now

1000 blocks can actually make two rooms. I hope you consider that seriously. So that even if you have visitors they can use one room and caretaker can use one.

Next to the kitchen garden should be a place fit for the two bedroom addition you are speaking about, not that space next to your current bungalow. You need to avoid 'yard-like' look in your compound.

Nasto complete the first house. Kenya is going to have tough times ahead. Save money and do a project to generate income. Your country is facing hard times ahead and be prepared. Set yourself up so that you wont struggle living in a villa. Just a word of advice
To the end you will be very happy you did build that water tank cant live without water that is very smart of you to build the water tank what you should do is to make accommodation to collect water from every direction when the rain fall to collect the water

Nasto! Why not make it one storey instead of waiting that land?... If you don't have money to complete you can dekk it and live in the one bedroom and parlour downstairs until you complete the upstairs.
It's very expensive to construct a water tank, Nasto. The steel, cement, stones (ballast), sand water, and of course the cost of labour are costly. There can be no shortcuts in the construction of this tank for obvious reasons. You've started, and you'd finish. The longest journey begins with a single step.

Thats the type of stones we call it gravel that Marwa should put in his driveway not those big rocks, i heard Rocio say she cant walk barefoot there because the rocks are uncomfortable to walk on. We use them in America for alot of landscaping ❤❤❤

Hi Nasto 2 bedrooms is better and add a third bedroom to the main house.yeyos house should be near the gate so that he can easily open the nain gate and do his compound job easily.also consider 2 more tanks one at yeyos house near the gate and the other 10000litres for 2 bedroom house

Try nail polish remover or acetone. Be careful with your skin if using acetone to remove color from the door and window frames
Hi Nasto how are you going to feel the underground water tank? I am thinking of pipes pumping the water into the tank. All is looking good.
That first yards of stone was too dirty but this last yards of stone you buy much more better and cleaner 😊
@waynegrant158 - He was cheated out of that order of gravel; (small pebbles) it was mostly dirt. That white gravel stones are so pretty and clean. That would be nice to put along the proposed car park.
