I dont like to see you drag that garbage can to the street because that means the video is over. I’m a 77 year old lady from GA who really enjoys your channel. You and Melissa seem to have an ideal life. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Ohhhh! That stove! I adore a wood burning stove - it's so cosy and warm - i loved watching you set this up. Much as I love watching you do jobs like this, I REALLY loved seeing you sit on a comfy chair chatting to Joni with beer in hand! Cheers! 😊
Another great video Joe. I have to say that I have watched other peoples videos and they don’t intrigue me like yours. I think a big part of it as you have a relaxing voice
Your videos bring back a lot of childhood memories for me. The crunching of the snow under your feet makes me shiver. I remember nights like that leaving my grandparents Pennsylvania dairy farm walking down the path to get to our car. There was one arc light that illuminated the path over to the barn where we had to park. As a little boy, I would not put my hands under the chickens to gather the eggs. Grandma didn't mind and just pushed them out of the way. Grandma cooked on a wooden stove in her kitchen, bigger than yours. The farmhouse had a coal furnace that went out during the night. They also had an outhouse. You are a very self-reliant and skillful person Joe, and do not seem to appear to have much hesitancy to tackle just about any project, even cooking. I admire you.
Stove works great!!! Shop coming along fantastic👍 amazing what you can accomplish in a day... Long Day for a You.. keep the videos coming Joe: very enjoyable👍 Barry Deacon MANITOBA Canada
I was SOOOOO GLAD to get a long video. I look forward to your videos. I don't know why I am so hooked on them, but I am. They are just good watching. Thank you so much.
Hey Joe, It's great to see the progress in the shop. It brings me back to the days when we bought our farmstead and I made an old grainary/pole shed into my work shop. It brings back some good memories. Thanks buddy!
Thanks so much for another great video.. Your video's always bring a smile to my face when I watch. For giving me the enjoyment and for your hard work in doing them I figure I could give something back .. It order and on it way I hope it give you as much enjoyment as your video give me. :)
Joe, i think its awesome a radio station mentioned and talked about your channel. I've been watching for about a year now, And enjoy every show, and still trying to catch up on the old video's from yrs past. Thanks and keep it rolling!
Thanks for another great video Joe. Joanie is so happy when you are home, she loves being with you and being your helper - I know that she has to miss you when you are gone !!
@@PatrickWagz, I like the endings where he says good bye in the truck, on the way home... Being from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵, the Minnesota country side is so rejuvenating. 💜
Got to say after watching all the work you do I'm so happy I'm retired now. Retired dairy farmer no more 4 a.m. milking, feeding etc. Heaven forbid the gutter cleaner chain breaks and freeze your hands and bums off fixing it. Blessings to you and Melissa & family. Safe travels. 😊🇺🇸
From your favorite firefighter in NY (the one who said don’t suck up the coals with your vacuum at the tent), awesome job on the wood stove install! You did a fine job sir!
I had that exact same stove that I used for 20 years when I lived in Illinois. I only used it for wood, and only used the side door. The metal plate I had went against the back side of the inside of the stove. It worked great for heating my house! Somebody added that thermometer to the top, that is not a factory setup. My thermometer was on the stove pipe. The square opening in the top should match the exact texture of the rest of the stove.
Like and appreciate your vocalizing your thoughts as you progress through the installation and start up process. Thanks for a good show and education. We Old Folks approve. Dog pays more attention than many females I know. That one hen is busy - should get extra food. Bet your mom never had to force you to keep your room clean and neat.
Thank you for the nice comment. My Mom would sometimes have to tell us to clean our rooms. She would give us the "eye" and we knew if we didn't she would beat our asses with the wooden spoon. LOL. If that did not work then Dad would. haha. We cleaned them and did not complain.
Hello joe and melissa. Thankyou you joe for another awesome great video. Yall take care and be safe joe. WOW! Joe CONGRATULATIONS! on getting being talked about on the radio that's awsome joe.
I love the color the boards that are new just the way they are, it just gives that workshop feeling, Manley and cosy. And that woodstove.. boy is that a gorgeous piece of work! And yeah, I would too like that end of pipe sticking in the air fixed with cables against the wind.
EXCELLENT video !!! Almost spit out my drink when you were telling hunting stories to the dog. And when you put paper in the stove (I was like WTH???) THEN brought out the charcoal starter I almost blew it thru my nose. I'm gonna have to watch what im eating and drinking while listening. Thanks for a great time.
Great video love the cooking, and they saying on the radio about your eating yes you eat some good food but you dont eat in the mornings and i never see you snack but in the deer stand, and i know you never sat down much you always on the go and working so your wife to be i have to say again you one lucky lady be proud, but Joe you may have to slow down a little for Melissa lol Joe you done a great job on the stove well love you guys
Reminds me of my dads wood stove he had in the "work shop" side of their garage :,-( He had coffee tins, cookie tins, mason jars & 5 gal buckets of ANYTHING you may have been looking for ;-) When he passed, it was sad to see all these farmers pilfer thru his tools, nuts & bolts...I will say, some had some good stories to tell about him :-)
The shop looks so much better. The old tractor loves her space. How do you and the mrs., stay so slim, you guys eat as much in one meal as I do in a week and I weigh..... too much for being six foot. I was always slim till I lost my legs in a accident and I am 72 so everything moves slow for me. I have been walking on my elbow's for years and the clauses are thick. I can't feel my right hand either. Not being able to play music is the hardest loss. I miss my shop and creating stuff but find that the more room I have the more I hord. I find mail that I never even opened that goes back years... opened one by chance and it had a out dated check... I hate it when that happens. Minnesota is one cold state. I live in alaska and normally its a lot warmer here but this year we have winter... twenty below right now. I hate to paint nice wood but I agree it will be brighter.. Best of holidays to you both
You reminded me of when my daughter was small. I made chicken gumbo soup and my daughter would not eat any until as she said "take the gumbo out". Fortunately she was not familiar with lima beans so I removed them and told her the gumbo was gone. She was happy... lol
Two videos will be coming from me on Joe and Zach Survival. "getting ready for duck camp" and then the yearly "Duck Camp the movie." I head up to camp this Thursday.
Joe you have some dedicated viewers. We are all thinking the same thing when we watch your videos and now it seems like you are reading our minds (comment about the lighter fluid, talking to Joanie, etc). Very enjoyable.
I have that woodstove in my cabin and love it. It's my only source of heat in my cabin. Don't leave the handles on after it is lit as they will get very hot quickly and will burn your hands. Enjoy!!
Dang, had a whole comment typed, but lost it... Great video, as always, Joe. Drinking a Cup of Joe while watching Joe, yeah! Glad for all you got accomplished, wow! I know it means a lot to you. So sorry that the gathering had to be cancelled, but I hope you can reschedule. Y'all have some seafood to eat, unless it's going to keep in the freezer. I will happily come help you eat it. Until next time, much love to you y'all from Florida. 76 degrees and raining. ♥🎈♥
Never have I enjoyed watching someone set up a wood stove like it was a crib for their precious baby. The best part was the enjoying the fruits of his labor with a beer on a recliner and story time with Joanie. Never a dull moment when Joe is at the farm house. Happy Holidays Joe, Melissa and krewe.
That discussion on the radio was wonderful. When we were growing up farmers ate well because they worked minimum 16 hour days working it and most still do. ( I should never have left.) There were also gardens and orchards to tend, chickens and other food animals to raise and root cellars to keep full just to feed the family. Hands on, full time self sufficiency isn't as common as it used to be in my home community, but people are slowly going back to it. Helpful Hint: Find some 20x20 blue fiberglass furnace filters and tie, tape or install brackets for them on your box fans. Keeps them clean. God Bless and Have a Great New Year !
Great to have shop heat ! Great job on that chimney. Esp by yourself. I would love to own that wood stove ! Everything is coming along great my friend.
Joe it looked like two eggs in the box. that new wood stove looks great , love when you got a good fire going on “though” winter nights. Thanks for the video’s Scott Stettler.
First time I used the woodstove it was 32 outside and I came in a few hours later and my cabin was over 80 degrees... super efficient! I had to open a window! You will enjoy.
The Man Cave/Shop. The stove should be great. I LOVE MENARDS! They are not down South...frankly, I think MENARDS is superior to Home Depot and Lowes. They carry very different things. Mom lived in Many/Zwolle, LA for a while. Some of the best food ever. Melissa is a grand cook.
Nice looking apartment you’re building for the kids when they come to visit. Now all ya have to do is dig a pond and stock it since you already have the deer stand.
I have a bittersweet feeling for your channel, I've been homesick for MN this past year, I've even went on zillow to see whats for sale lol I love ya'lls videos tho, it helps with the homesickness 😊😊😊 It's awesome how hard the two of you work together!! Keep doing whatcha do!!!
That stove looks like it puts out some heat. I would have been very disappointed if you hadn't of used lighter fluid to start the stove! lol! In the future you could buy some 1/2 inch conduit and cut it down for some spacers. Probably would be less expensive too. As always I enjoyed your video.
Conductive heat Cement board "Furnace". Great idea! Cold air from the bottom, heat out the top. Ha..ha to the lighter fluid, yes I (and other I am sure) were wondering.
Hey Joe Joanie was really listening 👂 to you 😆, and l’m so happy to hear the guys on the radio speak about you and family just tickled to death!!! 👏👏👏👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯
As long as you are putting in an air gap on the wall I would leave a small gap at the bottom to create a cooling chimney effect (leave a similar gap at the top) behind your Duro Rock. Would be no extra work and make a much more efficient cooling barrier. A very good idea in any installation for sure. I have remodeled houses where the stove was the recommended distance and the stud bays showed black charring yet the surface was looking fine. Take care. Doug
That weather has certainly messed up all your party plans for this season, but like you say with most of your family sick it is the safest thing to do, good luck Joe and Mellisa, look forward to seeing you all in 2020

You need to get one of those fans that Zack gave you to put on top of the oven surface.....who knows....maybe they sell a bigger version of the small one.

Somebody said that he always knew the video was over when Joe took the trash barrel out to the road. Today was no exception! Love it! ❤🌅🌵
Like Mr. Rogers changing his shoes at the end of the show lol
or on the "Tent" videos, when the vacuum comes out!!

Another great video! Must've been so neat to hear about yourself on the radio. That was neat.
The wood stove looks great joe, well done buddy. Thanks for sharing. 😊👍🏼
Looks really good. You look to be so well organized anyway. Very nice

Finally Joe, I got to see you sitting down relaxing in the shop after all these years!!
Awesome video Mr. Joe. The radio guy has you pegged as far as you never stopping.
Lol. I think he read a lot of minds! When I saw brown paper in the wood stove I was thinking, hey where's the lighter fluid? You didn't disappoint!
Enjoyed the video. You two stay warm! I hope the radio interview gets posted to you tube so I can listen here in Texas.
Thanks for another great video joe

Good to see the shop coming together! Seeing it in the chaotic condition it was in really made my OCD flare up. 🤣
I always get excited to see a new video from either of your channels. Keep up the great work.

Nothing like a good fire. You are so correct a personality each stove has. Sitting by my stove here in Ohio. Thanks for sharing the journey.
the roads are perfectly tidy and secure
That stove looks like it puts out some heat. I would have been very disappointed if you hadn't of used lighter fluid to start the stove! lol! In the future you could buy some 1/2 inch conduit and cut it down for some spacers. Probably would be less expensive too. As always I enjoyed your video.
Just love your videos. Better than watching a hockey game!
Yes! The Tent was how I found your channel too
Totally love the stove! Wanna come over for some southern cooking!! Happy New Year!🇨🇦😊
As long as you are putting in an air gap on the wall I would leave a small gap at the bottom to create a cooling chimney effect (leave a similar gap at the top) behind your Duro Rock. Would be no extra work and make a much more efficient cooling barrier. A very good idea in any installation for sure. I have remodeled houses where the stove was the recommended distance and the stud bays showed black charring yet the surface was looking fine. Take care. Doug

what i notice the woodstove from long ago is very complete, they think about everything when building it, so take time you will learn it.
I like the deck board walls. Cool idea. Might have to do some stuff like that myself. Looks awesome
Enjoy your videos. Please keep em coming.
Great job on the wood stove,,,,even though it was just a basic quikee install....I learned much,,Thank you brother Joe! BTW..That stove is beyond awesome!!
That was funny Joe about the lighter fluid comment.
You should do a video of how Melissa makes her jambalaya and gumbo recipes!
Enjoyed Enjoyed Enjoyed
I hate when your videos end.
Melissa's food looks so good.
Thanks for sharing your videos. ☺
Another awesome video Joe! Thank you for making a long one, made my evening. Always excited to see you post one. The workshop is taking shape and the wood stove should last you for years!
I hear The Tent calling your name Joe. Can't wait for the Winter Trip!
You need to get one of those fans that Zack gave you to put on top of the oven surface.....who knows....maybe they sell a bigger version of the small one.
Hey Joe, I don't know about everyone else, just wondering when you are going to wire brush and High Temp paint that Classic Vintage wood stove, also, still waiting for you to burn those junk piles. Keep the video's coming since you are now a Radio & TH-cam Celebrity!
Sounds like a Spring job. Get the cleaning done outside once you take it to pieces. Does look like it will look very nice once it is painted. Besides, he has a roost to build for the chickens and they want a timer on their light!
