I recently installed the Mamba X on my TRX4. Here's a tip: Set the Aux cable setting to Rock Race/Crawler mode instead. Why? Because that way, when the TRX4 is in high gear, you'll have zero drag brake and no instant reverse (rock race mode). This is ideal for tail running and saves a bit of battery by not having the ESC constantly add drag brake. However, when you switch to low gear the ESC will go into "crawler mode". In this mode, you'll have drag brake (whatever amount you had selected via Castle link) and instant reverse which is ideal for rock crawling. No need to fuss with a dial or anything, it's all automatic! Just need to add a wire splitter to channel 3 where the hi/lo servo is and plug the Castle Aux lead there. It's almost as if Castle added the Rock Race/Crawler mode specifically for the TRX4 and it works flawless.
On a brushless, drag break does not use battery. As for gliders engins, on a brushless, drag break is obtained by simply shorting the 3 brushless wires. To test, take a brushless motor, cross all three wires and you will not be able to turn it.

Wish you would have mentioned the placement of the motor on the motor plate along with your spur pinion combo.. would have helped a tad. Maybe a little more info next time. And perhaps a run portion of the video. And hook up the lighting block.
hi, i just got the Mamba X, how did you mount it to the TRX-4 chassis? I tried mounting it on a CD case that is screwed into the chassis and servo tape to that, but the servo tape cannot support the weight of the Mamba X. So, how did you do it?

Hey I saw you remove the LED power unit. is that mean we can't run the LEDs with this set up or is there something in the mamba x for LEDs? thanks in advance.

I used a Y lead with the stock receiver. Hardest part is getting all of the wires back in the box

No, you lose that with the ESC change, but the Mamba X has many options with the AUX function
