    There was also the West Side Highway and the Sheridan Expressway in NYC that were removed. At least for the West Side Highway, it was a success, as 53 percent of that traffic disappeared and is now West St with a nice view of the waterfront. The Sheridan Expressway removal is recent, but I think it is going to be a success.

      I visited West Street today, the view is really great, and they have dedicated lanes for cyclists and pedestrians
