Thanks babu. It sounds like the states are polygons. If you're looking to add svgs to them it might be helpful to find the centroid of the polygons first to create a point layer.
After chosing a svg (no matter which) I get a question mark on the map displayed instead of the actual symbol I have chosen although while browsing for them they are displayed correctly in the preview.
Thanks for posting. What version of Q are you using and what version of the plugin? Also could you sstate the exact method you are using to add the symbols. If I can reccreate the problem that's one sstep closer to solving it :)
@@burdGIS Thank for your fast reply! I have that point layer in my project where I distinguish between certain branches. The column "branch" has values like "health", "education", "production". I am using the data defined override funtion to create the necessary rules. So the funtion looks like this for example "branch" = ´health´ and then I chose one of my .svg icons. The preview is alright but after applying the map would only show the mentioned question marks.
Hi, great video. I followed your walk through and installed and opened QGIS Resource Sharing, but when I try to install the icon set I get the following error message : Error:>url open error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c.833)> Any suggestions as to how I could overcome this? Using QGIS 3.4.5 Many thanks.
Thanks Hamish. Glad you enjoyed the video. It seems a few people are having this problem but I can't recreate it on my machine. What operating system are you using? Having done a quick search it seems likely a problem with Python. This is a similar error with solution for Mac users on QGIS 3: gis.stackexchange.com/questions/308338/mmqgis-geocode-is-failing-in-qgis-3/308346
Oh no! That's the most fun part :-) What happens when you try to change the colour? What collection(s) have you tried this on? Are there any error messages?
@@burdGIS yes the thing is that i tried on another collection (transport for the train station symbol ) then i tried on the animal collection it worked. apparently it work only on some of symbols
I have a layer that has multiple values in the field I need symbols for. I need to assign different symbols for the different values in the field. There may be 20 different symbols I need to associate with this field. How is that done? Thank you. Robert
Hi Robert, thanks for the comment and for subscribing! I think this video will help you out. You need to choose "categorized" symbology and select your field to style the layer thematically. th-cam.com/video/g5Aef-k5hZc/w-d-xo.html Cheers, Oliver
Hi, very nice video, i found in resource sharing plug in, there is script for profiling by "faunalia" but i dont know how to use it, can you make the tutorial how to use it in the next video. thanks :D

@@burdGIS I now figured out how to do it. It´s kinda embarassing because the method is to simply use categorize the symbol markers.
I'm glad you got it sorted and no need to be embarrassed 🙂

That could be the case Aurelie. I'd like to know why though. Some digging required :)
