      @@participationidol6841 Thanks for the update! That helps a lot. I am strongly looking at this board now, because it's the only one with TB3 and proper ECC support. Even though it is relatively expensive, and has some features that I don't need (like built-in WiFi).

    The DisplayPort at the rear is actually DisplayPort Input 1, not output from APU, it will feed DP signal to the first ThunderBolt 3 port (closest to the HDMI port), by looking at the manual, it could use not just AsRock graphic card but might be all cards that has a DP. The internal DisplayPort is DisplayPort Input 2 which feed signal to the second Thunderbolt 3 port (at the same column of the ethernet port)

    I'll say it again. You gotta put this board in a comparison showdown with Gigabyte's z390 Designare.
    That board has DP 8K60 passthrough, 12 monitor daisychain with dual TB3 and 8 more USB 3.1 Gen.2 ports.
    Also can switch the 3rd PCI-e lane to run strait to the CPU to run 2 970pros in raid 0 with 7GB/s tranfer rates.

    The comment on x4 slots is spot on. Why not a x16/0/0/[0], x8/x8/x0/[x0], x8/x4/x4/[x4] [chipset] arrangement. This applies even more to the TRX40 platform. 3 or 4 slots when 7 could be in place, with varying 16-8-4 distributions. We don't all demand 3 x16 graphics cards.

    So this is the only x570 option with Thunderbolt 3, that's reasonable. The Aqua is $999.00.
    And the Aorus Master is a sham if I know one. Lol
    My rationale for buying this is Thunderbolt 3. I'm building a workstation. I was going to buy the Master for 360.00 and a thunderbolt 3 card for 100.00 for a total of almost 500. So this Mobo is worth it in that regards.

    • @Theorica
      @Theorica 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not exactly the only TB3 option. The Asrock x570 Phantom Gaming ITX also has TB3 built-in. Better yet though, many Asrock mobo's have TB3 headers allowing you to install an add-in TB card. Asrock has its own add-in cards but the best is offered by Gigabyte. The Gigabyte Titan Ridge AIC which is confirmed to work just fine with the x570 Taichi. If you do not need the 10/GB Lan or ECC memory, the AIC + Taichi can save you a fair buck without losing any significant options and features.
      FYI, the Master does not have a TB header. So an AIC would not work. For now, Asrock is the only one that offers TB headers on some of their boards.
      All of this can be confirmed on the Level1techs forums if you like!
      Cheers!

    • @Artkidtek
      @Artkidtek 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Theorica ok, heres my beef with all these X570 reviews. They dont talk about Thunderbolt 3 much. They mention it once and never elaborate further.
      On the Titan Ridge website it says the only boards that support thunderbolt 3 add on cards are the Master and Xtreme.
      It says nothing about the Taichi. Also some Master Mobos have the Thunderbolt header and some dont. It Depends on whether is revision1.0 vs 1.1. I cant find the 1.1 rev anywhere...
      The other options you mentioned with thunderbolt are itx boards. Not a full size ATX boards with normal amount of Pcie-slots and etc...
      Thunderbolt is taboo in the gaming world and all these reviewers review Mobos with gamers in mind. Not content creators....
      The single MOST important feature of the Creator board is thunderbolt 3.. It's the reason its priced so high and there's only one other full sized ATX board with thunderbolt. The xtreme.
      This reviewer literally talked about it for a 1 second and never followed up with the 2nd video he said he would do.

    • @Theorica
      @Theorica 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Artkidtek Agreed. Mostly. I did state the one mobo as being ITX already so not sure why it's being pointed out.
      A lot of the Asrock mobos have functioning TB headers and some have the ports ready to go on the backplate. The Gigabyte boards as far as I knew, only had functioning TB headers on the review boards and not the actual retail ones. For whatever reason, no "blessing from Intel". The reason why you won't see any of these Asrock boards on the supported lists is that Asrock doesn't have Intel's blessings either. So while technically TB is there on the mobo, Asrock cannot advertise that they support it. Hence other manufacturers can't put them on their lists.
      Ya, it's very annoying, I agree. I was just offering more solutions for you without you losing out on too many features. As I said, it's all there in the forums to confirm that it works. Do what you will with the info though! Cheers!

    After 1 year of using this motherboard:
    1) The board layout concerning southbridge and top PCIE 4.0 16x slot is total failure. A two slot full length graphics card will kill the southbridge fan in a month. I have had two replacements until I finally bought a 100€ PCIE 4.0 riser cable and mounted my graphics card vertically away from the slots.
    2) One of my considerations for this motherboard was the 10GB onboard NIC - replaced it with a Mellanox connect-X3 in three months. Asrock page did not list the latest drivers. have not checked after disabling the card (original drivers gave me issues).
    In retrospect - this motherboard is overpriced and the features have not justified its price.

    I purchased this board because of this video but I noticed that my CPU has been running almost double the temp of my Asus board. I have a 3800x with a Corsair h100i rgb Platinum water cooler. I thought it was the thermal paste so I reapplied and still the same. I ran a stress test and immediately the temp shot up to 81 degrees celcius and climbed to 84 within 1 minute so I shut it down. Is this common with this board or are these temps safe?

    Does your 4200MHz work better set to 4000MHz? It cannot get its needed 2100MHz MEMCLCK from a 3000-series at all. And 5000-series is not always there for 4000MHz RAM's needed 2000MHz MEMCLCK, much less your 4200MHz's needed 2100MHz, which drops to 1050MHz to be able to sync with FCLCK & UCLCK.neither of which reach beyond stated speed at the irlocked 1:1 ratio Memory Controller to Infinity Fabric or something like that ;-) Anything beyond Controller & Fabric runs RAM at half-speed.
    Some motherboards barely reach a stable 3200MHz AMD-Guaranteed , which I would hope comes-up in reviews.
    an aside that does not get explained well, not saying you have not, my not viewing all yours yet. ;-)
    The bit about installing DIMMs in the slots furthest from the CPU, no matter how many channels, is those memory data lines, address lines, control lines, are all Transmission Lines which reflect the worst when unterminated, causing considerable confusion on any or all those busses. In early days, empty SIMM slots required a terminator SIMM with resistors to cap the end of every single Address, Data, & Control Line at every slot. I am a tad bit confused why that is no lo0nger true, when installing either furthest from the CPU guarantees proper termination, but what about the empty DIMM slots, maybe since those lines are disabled if no RAM is present in those slots? idunno a good tropic to cover eh
    Can you do one on 1T vs. 2T in SPD settings for DDR4, plz? and the power-something with its partner gear-down?
    Thanks

    Aquantia is the name of the manager at my local McDonald’s, and the name of Aquantia’s gold Gucci pinky fingernail of death with built it NFC & 32gb of flash storage
    Her fingernail is also named Aquantia, yes, and she coded an assistant into it so it responds when people say “hey aquantia” even if she doesn’t respond.
    All of this is a lie except the girl with the name and the fingernail with the same name. Sorry

    If it weren't for the shitty iommu groups, this would probably be the best am4 motherboard in the world.

    We need validated 128GB kits (4x32) And Ryzen and x570 is supposed to support ECC so 128GB ECC is right up my alley.. Anyone validate anything like that yet?

    I'm curious how many people actually ragequit Wendell vids, I'm betting it's (MUCH) lower than the youtube average.
