My grandfather had a silver one with a basket on the back just like that one. He bought it new in the 70s when the price of gas went up. He used to ride it to visit his farmer friends a few miles from his home.
I agree, the fender helped as somewhat of a brace but since that’s gone you def need a fork brace. Treatland sells a MLM brace for stock Maxi forks…money well spent.
I think they both look like cool just like they are. Performance is definitely a plus. I would love to have either one!

The green puch looks dangerous because it doesn't have a front stabilizer brace on the fork.
