Finally finally finally... an actual camping trip with the family. I'm so tired of setup and review videos. Thank you for sharing your beautiful family.
Wow! This was definitely not your first rodeo! What a great setup with Bluetti power pack, solar panels, great cooking equipment, not to mention the meals, which looked absolutely delicious. Gave your wife a nice break. The kids are so cute. Looked like everyone had nice camping experience.
Nothing left for chance.lol . you brought everything . Camp there every year with my girls. That’s a favorite campground of mine. Never went there without a visit from the friendly black bears🎉. Been going there for years you’re quite the chef. Yum
@@larriettausa that’s right lol we’d rather bring something and not use it rather than forget it and not have it. It is definitely a favorite of ours too! We did have a bear walk by our campsite last year but no sightings this year.
Just found you! What a beautiful family. I am currently a tent camper but your video makes me want to get a pop up! Not to mention the amazing food you’re cooking. Lol
@@susanconway3515 thank you so much!! We started out tent camping but my wife was pregnant that summer and we only took two camping trips before we found our pop up lol it is nice being off the ground if nothing else!
@@upstateoutsideI know. I’ve been going to that donut shop for 30 years easily! Since I was little! I’ll be up there this weekend. Camping at Limekiln!
Hi, I enjoy your videos. Are you able to provide links for your camping gear, i.e. cooking equipment and accessories, chairs and pop-up tents, etc? Keep the videos coming!! Thanks.
thank you! the screen room is the Nemo Victory Screenroom. amzn.to/3zDv4jC they recently made a brown version to blend in better with surroundings, though the green does surprisingly blend in quite well with trees. The brown should be better with bugs being attracted to it. I would wait for a sale, prime day comes up soon but backcountry and rei frequently have 20% off. Spendy, but the materials are top notch.
It’s funny you mention that, we edited it out but I mention that “we don’t like to let bears know we consume any food, we let them believe we are fasting” lol. This particular campground has bear boxes which we usually just store our grill and cooktop in. This is the only campground that has the boxes, there used to be a dump where bears would eat. Anyways, Our food is stored inside the truck. We clean up right after meals and don’t let things linger around. We keep a very tidy campsite and make sure we aren’t leaving any food scraps, chips, lying on the ground. (Tough with kids)! We wipe everything down before we go to bed. We did have a bear come through our site at about 6am while I was cooking breakfast, I didn’t even notice it until our neighboring camper mentioned it. It just moved along down the road. All they want is food, so that’s our #1 priority. I’ve watched nearly all safety videos for bears so I feel fairly confident should we ever encounter one, I do have bear spray. We do NOT camp in brown bear country, just black bears. Haven’t built up the courage to do that. Keep a clean site and you shouldn’t have any problems.
@@upstateoutside Awesome, thanks for the great tips. I just recently got a pop up tent camper and took it out with my two younger children on our second trip. I wasn’t really thinking about it because it was a popular campground but we had a black bear pull the ice chest right out of the back of my truck bed at 4am. Mine and my son’s heads were about 4ft away from the bear when I heard him. Needless to say, I’ve never been so scared, lol. First encounter with a bear, but after doing some reading, my guess is the bear has had prior experience with seeing ice chests in vehicles and he’s scored before in this campground. Trying to do my due diligence to be prepared next time. Bear spray is definitely on the list, and keeping the ice chest in the truck and covered up. I have a soft truck bed cover and I almost closed the tailgate that night, but I’m sure the bear would have ripped that thing open to get to the ice chest. Guess I’m lucky I left it open.
@@Levi-xg1fzwow! I can imagine that was a scary experience for sure! I think bears are actually more prevalent in popular campgrounds because they know humans are there, and when humans are there, food is there. Bears typically return to a place they find food, so if the camper before you left food out, the bear could have been returning for that reason. Bears usually want an “easy” meal, I don’t necessarily think they would bother your soft sided tonneau cover even if coolers were under it. They 100% associate coolers with food and because your tailgate was open he probably thought it was an easy meal. They are powerful animals that deserve respect, but with a little planning and tidying up, you should never have a problem. I’ve also read the pinesol is a deterrent for bears, which always puzzled me because they live amongst pine trees but I am guilty of spraying some around my truck our first few times in bear country haha
@@upstateoutside That makes complete sense why he’d be coming back, and I’m sure by visually identifying the ice chest, he knew he had a good shot. Big learning experience for me. I’ll definitely give that pinesol a try. Worth a shot!
@@kuianderson965 we do most of our relaxing at night when the kids go to bed. Until then it is a lot of go go go keeping up and chasing them around the campsite.
Haha I do sit and relax. I try to make the experience as memorable and enjoyable as I can for my wife and kids, if that means me busting my butt, so be it! Haha
In this trip we went to Limekiln, a little further in Inlet NY, but in our newest video we actually did go to Nicks lake! We will definitely be back, beautiful campground.

Loved our Coleman E4 popup. Circumstances made us change to a hard side RV.
I totally get that. We are on the fence about getting a hard sided camper as well. I would probably sleep better while in bear country too!
I Love how organized you’ll are🥰
