    have u been using the threading wizard? if so do you know the benefit of the thread chamfer feature?

    Sir, Are you using mach3 spindle control under "closed loop" ? Does mach3 PID work well in ensuring the spindle speed is kept constant under cuts ?

    • @CNC4XR7
      @CNC4XR7  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mach3 uses spindle speed averaging it works well but can slow under a load.

    My mach3 on the lathe does not cut the thread. stands on cycle G76 and does not want to cut the thread. please tell me where to dig? thanks.

      make sure you have Spindle speed averaging checked.

      @@CNC4XR7 I checked the averaging of the spindle speed, and removed, and tried different options, but for 10 days now I can’t figure it out, can it be because of the m1076.m1s file? or because of the controller that connects to the LPT port.

    I've been pulling my hair out trying to make this work on my cnc lathe conversion. I think it's my breakout board but who knows, what breakout board are you using? I'm using a usb board, everything works great accept the tach.

    • @CNC4XR7
      @CNC4XR7  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      what is the voltage of the signal your sending to the bob?

    • @kclaptraffic
      @kclaptraffic 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CNC4XR7 I've tried everything from 5v to 24v (my board will handle up to 24v). At 5v mach3 doesnt pickup the index signal even though the led on the sensor is coming on as the magnet passes, mach3 does pick it up at 24v but randomly. When I check the sensor wire with a voltmeter it gos from 0.3v to whatever voltage I'm trying. Thinking of trying a drop resistor? It's like the low voltages arent enough to trigger mach but the higher voltages dont drop quick enough to trigger consistently. Or it's just my crappy usb bob doesnt send data quick enough.

    Sam,
    I love your videos!
    I'm planning to do a cnc conversion of my G0602. I ended up with a spindle motor that is 3450 rpm (same D80 frame motor from Leeson - 1920257) instead of 1725 rpm (Leeson - 1920251). What do you think about using this motor on the G0602 vs the one at the 1725 rpm speed? Do you think I'll run into any torque issues etc. I don't want to spend the extra money but I also don't want to go through the installation twice if I can avoid it.

    • @CNC4XR7
      @CNC4XR7  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have found over the last couple years running the machine the torque is lacking even for the 1725 motor. I run on the low pulleys and run the vfd at around 100hz to get the higher speeds that seems to help.
      Not sure that helps. I guess if you have it and cant return or use it elsewhere then try it
