Alito wants to make a president immune from punishment regardless the crimes he committed in office, it sounded like to and including Murder. This is ludicrous. In our nearly 250 years of existence, there has been only 1 president before Mr. Trump who attempted (and did) commit crimes, Richard Nixon and his desperation to hold onto power. Nixon was neither stupid enough nor psychotic enough to believe he was omnipotent. He should have been impeached, tried and convicted, and thereby banned from ever holding office again. Barry Goldwater, who was NOT a liberal, but was a Republican when the party had not been invaded by Putin and Trump, told Nixon he was about to be impeached, and that Senator Goldwater himself would have voted to convict him. At that time, the Republican party had not been invaded by Russia, and Nixon was removed from office. It is my opinion that itwas,a mistake not to follow the Constitution and go through with the impeachment process because it created the 2 tier justice system with which we are struggling today. It has given Mr. Trump's lawyer an "out" by demanding a president to be impeached and convicted before his crimes can be tried. This argument is specious because that HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN OUR HISTORY!!!!! And the attorney is well aware of that fact, which makes the argument less credible had it been done before.
We have had criminal preidents before, though not traitorous ones until Mr. Trump. To ignore the fact that he took classified documents with him when he left on January 20, 2021, possibly before, is inexcusable. The Supreme Court unbeatable majority was bought and paid for by the Federalist Society. The Heritage Fund has a disastrous plan for 2025 should Mr. Trump be elected. It would destroy our Constitutional Co-equal branches of government, our valuable checks and balances, and replace it by elevating the Executive Branch above the other branches, and destroying our Constitution and enable a Dictatorship, which is precisely what Mr. Trump wants. We must use the power of the people to deny Mr. Trump and the dreadful Heritage Fund from destroying our democratic Constitutional Republic and creating a Fascist Dictatorship.

The Colonies fought a revolutionary war to get away from the “absolute immunity”and absolute control of a British monarch . The Founding Fathers certain did not intend to give such powers to the President of the newly formed Republic.
