One thought I had was that it might be interesting if you did a video discussing the differences in training methodologies/philosophies that are optimal for natural vs enhanced lifters. I know a lot of what you discuss is already aimed at natural lifters but I think it might be interesting to discuss the strengths worth developing if you're a non-steroid user e.g. tendon strength. Just an idea, keep putting out the great content man!!

    I was recently told about endurance cyclists and how they avoid lactic acid build up as that effects performance. Could you do a video about how to train to avoid latic acid build up and how you can avoid it on endurance exercises? I thought that as it is quite science heavy, it's the right sort of thing for your channel.

    • @cookie_space
      @cookie_space 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      I know that this isn't the same as one of his great videos but if you are interested here is a short overview:
      To avoid thr build up of too much lactic acid you must strenghten the aerobic part of metabolism.
      For that you have a few key parts:
      1. The lung. The more air you can inhale, the more oxygen will be transfered to your blood.
      You can train to increase the lung capacity.
      2. The Blood. The more red bloodcells you have, the more oxygen can be picked up at the lung. You can't really specificly train this (with altitude training of course...) It will happen automaticly, just as the rest.
      3. Your heart. The stronger it can beat, the more blood will be pumped with one stroke, the more oxygen gets to the muscles.
      4. The muscles.
      The more capillaries you have, the more blood can be passed through the muscle at once, the more oxygen you get for the metabolism.
      And with more muscles the relativ force needed for an excercise (in relation to your max strength) is lower, meaning the load is lower.
      5. Metabolism. Your aerobic metabolism can be trained to be more efficient and faster. Meaning you can get more energy in the same time. So you can output more energy without the need of lactic acid.
      And not to forget:
      Pacing and technique. Technique helps with using as little muscles as needed to save energy. And pacing helps to stay at the border between aerobic and anaerobic endurance. So that you get your maximum of performance without building to much acid.
      Most of this will be trained together but you can set nuances on one of the aspects.
      Of course this is just a short overview that can't look on every aspect.
