the best affordable watch imo under 1000€ is the tissot heritage 1938 cosc. i cant think of more bang per buck as with this one... cosc certified eta 2824 and no powermatic 80 with plastic parts. a beautiful vintage inspired everyday/dresswatch at wearable 39mm... available now in 3 colours: salmon, darkgrey and the newest addition in a silverish white.
The explosion of microbrands over the last few years has transformed the world of 'affordable' watches. For me, the diversity this offers is fantastic. My collection has many micros such as Autodromo and Zelos (as I'm a petrolhead and lived in Singapore), established brands like Seiko, CWC, GShocks. All are super and have their own identity. I'm about to add a Holton Professional too... the only downside is I need yet another watch box
Totally agree! I used to always recommend an SKX as a gateway drug, now that's not the case. The micros are what I recommend to everyone getting their first mechanical watch. It takes some time for new folks to adjust to the idea of sub $1000 watches being affordable haha
It's available for around €300 all day long on Chrono24 and for far cheaper on other platforms (i.e. eBay, Vinted, etc). We'll keep it in mind though, and focus on options available at retail in future outings.
500 bucks.... There's a ton of 5KX and Seiko 5 watches below and around that, but you only go into toolwatches. How about the Bambino 38mm? Or the Timex Marlin 34, Marlin Jet 38, etc? Or maybe the Baltic HMS02 for just under 500 bucks? Plenty of great dressy options as well, in other words. Damn, I'm even about to pick up a vintage Universal Geneve Ferrovie dello Stato for around 500 buckaroos, with an enamel dial. And of course the cocktail time.... The notion that affordable watches need to be toolish is a style insult to those of limited means. I say give more love to the dress watch! That said, I ripped through a whole bunch of Sarb033, 035, SKX007, 009 and Baby Tuna watches. No staying power. The SPB317 is vastly superior as a toolwatch to anything mentioned in the podcast. I might even prefer the Mini Turtle, if you can still get one from Asia. My tip: Don't waste your cash on trying to track down an overpriced SKX. Then get the 5KX GMT that Daan mentions.
Orient Mako lijkt mij de beste keuze met een mech. uurwerk, 40 gangreserve, 40+mm en saffierglas.........oudste Japanse merk onbegrijpelijk voor die prijzen.
Congratulations as always a great episode. My favourite video format for watches at the moment, charming , informative and fun!

To many micro brands are over priced for what they are.
"Some people spend more on shoes" while wearing Loro Piana Loafers. Nice.
Thanks . Finally affordable watches.
A Lorus titanium quartz field ( under £€100) watch - I'm sure Lorus stole some lume from its big brother.
SKX013 the 38mm version has 20mm strap.
Great choices. Hoping part 2 has some smaller, up and coming brands.
Add Lex and we have my favorite gang of Fratello fratelli’s. 👍🏻 one of the best watch channels!!
Plus Gerard naturally..
How about one episode with Mike Stockton & People Magazine’s next sexiest man alive Balazs Ferenczi?
The citizen nb6021-17e can be found way under 1000, absolute belter 🔥
RJ that military watch would be nice to track!
Ohhhh catching another one early 🎉🎉🎉
"Bomb carefully" 🤣
Why feature watches that are not available as an in stock product from the manufacture. The SKX can only be bought at ridiculous prices.

All great choices! The idea is to keep this a recurring series, so we'll be sure to mix things up going forward :)
How many affordable watches does an entry luxury watch makes?
An Omega Moon watch is about $7k. Unless you buy it preowned for $3k.
All dat MAMACOO watches sssssoooooooo gorgeous!

What is happening to the Fratello app? Come on, fix it!
