Last year was a horror year in one way for Guy as he finally had his ex manager brought to trial for embezzling over a million $...Guy won and his ex manager was sentenced to 4 years. The saddest part for Guy was that he thought of him as a trusted friend and their families were friends too. You were correct to say that he writes about 'life' .
I always prefer Guy's live versions of his songs, the ones where he's singing at home studio or at a radio station. His voice sounds even better live than in the official album version.

Most Australian top artists have come up through clubs and pubs with live audiences and no musical "tricks" to disguise their voices. They have to be pitch perfect, and great stage performers with special voices to make it. They come alive with an audience.
This is in my top 5 favourite Guy songs. Until his next release of course, because every new album is better than the last. The perfection of his music is that the lyrics are always relatable and heart centred, backed up by impeccable compositions.

Standing with you was about a friend going through depression. Guy represented Australia at Eurovision with a song he wrote called Tonight again. A little more up-tempo showing a different side to him. I hope you get to do more Guy reactions, his voice is exceptional and the lyrics to his songs are very moving and relatable.❤️
