I've already seen a few comments jumping to his defense about how he doesn't contradict Church teaching. Well, I didn't say he does in the video. I was responding to his specific statement he published in response to Bishop Strickland and Cardinal Muller. But, if you want an indictment, here it is. Fr. Martin says that Church teaching is about, "...making those who feel excluded to feel included." That's an exact quote. Well, Fr. Martin has consistently promised that change is coming in the Church and that we should be looking at changing the language in the catechism. Well, I'm an orthodox Catholic who believes that doctrines are timeless and campaigning for change makes me "feel" excluded. And I guarantee I'm not the only one. Therefore, Fr. Martin, by his own definition, is making people feel excluded which is a violation of Church teaching according to his own definition.
@@brightskysyl3913 by disinterested they mean without bias or self interest such as a true friend who cares about the state of your soul. we all have a cross to bear it is difficult, but like st paul who had a thorn inhis side he ran the good race and fought the good fight and got the prize in the end.
there are two ways of taking it if a mother is disinterested emotionally towards her child then it would be uncaring unmoved, but in this case means impartial, objective, like perhaps a priest in confession
@brightskysyl There really is no need to develop a catechism further. It is only a compendium of Church teaching. Think of it like a pocket dictionary. Not just that, think of it like a pocket dictionary for middle school kids. And when speaking of this particular catechism in comparison to others in the past, it is definitely no Webster's. Homosexual acts aren't described in detail but why should they be? Should this be a book that parents keep locked away from their children? It is clear that the catechism is speaking of any and all homosexual acts as intrinsically disordered. So what is a homosexual act? Well for one it is an "act". Two, it is an "act" that stirs up "sexual" passions. Three, it is an "act" that stirs up "sexual" passions between two people of the "same sex". "Homo" means "same" in Greek. I think we all can agree that caresses can stir up sexual passions, whether the person caressing intends to or not. At the very least, it is a near occasion of sin. Is admiring other person's physical appearance of the same gender an objectively disordered experience? Is there or could there be any passion? Is holding hands with your same gender friend out of comfort and platonic love an objectively disordered act? Is there or could there be any passion? If there is no passion, could it cause scandal? Is relying emotionally to your same gender friend an objectively disordered desire? Is there or could there be any passion? I don't understand why it should be impossible for SSA people to have disinterested friendships. Surely every friendship wouldn't constitute a near occasion of sin.
@@brightskysyl3913 the two most important laws according to Christ are to love God with all your heart with all your mind and with all your strength and the second is to love your neighbour as yourself. so we should love ourselves as you would treat someone with great respect with gentleness but not give into every desire and want disinterested yet with a holy love since God is holy. .
@brightskysyl I have a disinterested friendship with person who has experienced SSA. In fact, he is perhaps my closest friend. He was away from the Catholic Church for a while but has started to come back. In fact, he is going to a Catholic conference next month to rejuvenate his faith. He knows I would never condone it if he lived a lifestyle in open rebellion against God and he knows I care about him. I truly am sorry that other SSA people can't find the same type of friendships in the Church and I would offer them my prayers that they soon do. Yes, caresses don't always stir up sexual passions. People that didn't have a weakness in this area could do this without it being a near occasion of sin.

I agree. But... We all start our Christian journey somewhere. Sometimes this somewhere is a happy, loving home with Christian parents and normal (as in average) proclivities. Sometimes it's in a broken home or a war torn nation, or sexually unusual urges, or who knows what else, or some mix of these. As Christians we need to reach out and meet these people. This is a hard task, in part because we need to be compassionate and understanding of sins we ourselves don't share and wish to mistakenly judge harshly. In part it's hard because we need to balance that compassion with an unwavering commitment to rejecting our own sins including the mistake of accepting the sin when we accept the sinner. Finding a balance between rejecting sin while forgiving sinners is hard. But remember the parable of the dishonest steward. Jesus praised the man rejected for his mistakes when he forgave others. If one must err, let it be on the side of forgiveness.
@@jwrosenbury I agree that cirrecting errir should be done with love and compassion, but it doesn't mean that we should excuse sin ewither. Or do we just say, "Sorry, you're a sinner. Instantly change the way I want or go to hell." The Bible touches on sexual morality. Yet it pounds on economic morality. Time and again we are told to take care of widows and orphans. Don't engage in unfair and unholy economic practices. Most of the Old Testament and much of the New are about these issues. Anti-gay passages are few by comparison. (They do exist, and I'm not claiming they don't or shouldn't be obeyed.) Now there is no practice so devastating to the poor as usury. It crushes people's lives. It tempts them into sins such as drug dealing which leads to over 25% of young men in poor neighborhoods being murdered. So, do you own a credit card? Do you own a bank account with a bank that issues credit cards? I can hear the justifications already. Don't bother. It's pretty much impossible to live in a modern society without supporting usury on some level. I understand that. If I encounter a brother persisting in Sin, is it true "Mercy" if I tell them, "Hey, it's ok to do whatever makes you happy in this moment; don't worry about the eternal consequences". Wouldn't the true Charity to walk with the Alcoholic to assist them in finding help to face their alcoholism? Wouldn't true Mercy to be to love my Brother enough to tell them the truth? (In love, of course - not in anger or "judgment") but to try to guide them out of their sin? Just my opinion.....
@Tango Mike Vatican II is an valid Eumenical Church council called by one Pope, and the 16 documents it produced were signed & proglamated by another Pope. That makes it's docrines INFALLIBLE and BINDING on all who profess to be in communion with the ONE HOLY CATHOLIC and APOSTOLIC Church. You can either accept that, or schism off to join the other Protestants who do not respect the universal Magisterial authority of the Bishops when acting in communion with the Pope. Martin Luther believed he could be his own authority and "reform" the Church to his liking. You either accept the authority of Vatican II and remain Catholic or leave as a Protestant.
@Tango Mike You must be a deeply disturbed person to write such obnoxious posts. Like it or not, there is a dividing line between Catholics & Protestants when it comes to the issue of authority. Catholics recognize and submit to the authority of the Magisterium (Pope, Bishops & Councils), but Protestants do not. Denying the authority of Vatican II or the legitimacy of a duly elected Pope, makes you a Protestant by definition. No accusation needed. At the Council of Trent, much of what Luther had to say was affirmed, but not all of it. The "Sola" doctrines were rejected, and for good reason. They don't work. In any case, the very notion of praying for the "purification" of the Church is by definition a form puritanism - where do you think the name "Puritan" comes from? I have nothing against followers of other religions. People are free to believe whatever they like as long as they don't falsely claim to be Catholic, and anyone who denies the authority of Vatican II, Pope Francis, or the Bishops who support him ARE NOT CATHOLIC.
@Tango Mike Your type is easy to peg. You accuse others of what are really your own crimes against the truth. Since you have no response but insults to my highly coherent and informative argument, you lose. You are not Catholic. Also, I spoke of beliefs, and you list off behaviors. I grew up in a secular family. I believed in God anyway by the time I was 5. My family said they were christian but all we did was Christmas. No church, no praying except Thanksgiving which was basically thanking God for stuff and things. I found myself by 8, talking to God randomly throughout my days. My sister became christian at that time and started reading the Bible to me every night as a bedtime story. She didn’t tell me it was truth, or what we were to believe. Then we started praying every night before bedtime for a short while. When my dad moved out, my mom remarried right away and my sister and I were more concerned about protecting each other. She became “spiritual” and her husband attacked my sister, then we moved in with my dad who was pretty much atheist. That’s when I was 12, I started getting into ouija boards and magic, and having night terrors. Sleep paralysis. When I was 14 I started wanting to get religion again. I started hearing this word Catholic. My mom vehemently objected (free love spiritism, they said Jesus sometimes). In high school, the kids from the Assembly of God had me going to their Wednesday church and taking communion that I didn’t even have training for, I didn’t know what I was eating or why I was eating it. I still only had eyes for the Catholic Church that no one wanted me to be. When I became of age, I got kicked out of my moms house, and got fired for not having a residence. Lived on the streets for two years. The only church that helped me was catholic. Lutheran Church told me I needed to leave the premises when I went for daily bread. Catholic Church gave me gas, food, and clothing vouchers and helped me get a job and keep my place to live. Got married to a guy who said he was catholic, who wasn’t, and it got me into a heap of trouble for 10 years. He was bisexual and a Wiccan and when I was 4 months pregnant with his child I came home and he was with another man. I left him and thought it hopeless because I only believed in one marriage. But I met a true catholic who helped me get converted and married him (after annulment of course). And we have four beautiful kids. I’ll never give up my Jesus or my catholic faith. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank God He called me at 5. “Look at me, child, and not your circumstances.” I’ve always been what people called happy-go-lucky. I didn’t start feeling sorry for myself until I was around 32, and shortly after, I gave that up for that saying I heard. “Look at me, child, and not your circumstances.” And when you look at God, it hurts momentarily, you get the reflection of yourself in His light, some turn away. I pray I do not turn away. God bless you in Jesus’s name for your beautiful reply. Amen. ❤️
Absolutely nailed it! But there is one aspect not highlighted in enough: yes, Jesus turned to people on the edge, people left out ... but as in the case of the samaritan woman, or mary magdalene, or zacchaeus... he showed them a new live, told them he would not judge them ... but then he also said: DO NOT SIN ever again ...this part many priests like Fr Martin tend to skip
Well and Paul said: Whatever you dare to defamate other people, you will be this is what you will be more then ten times. For the greatest sin is judging people. I know authoritatarian thinking has little space for self criticism and consideration of different biblical texts. But well, at least you shouldn't just call you an christian if you're only come so far.

@minorityvoice - isn't that the truth! Thank you addressing this heretical priest. It always bothers me when ppl seem to act like they know how Jesus would behave and think. Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He IS the Truth. Some pushover SJW He was not; certainly not in the Scriptures.
Eileen D What are you, some kind of "Sola Scriptura" Protestant? Since when do Catholics blindly follow Scripture when it comes to Church doctrine? You won't find the Immaculate Conception or the Assumption of Mary in Scripture, but no doctrines better exemplify the genius of the Catholic way than those two. When Jesus taught mercy in the 1st century, his followers pushed the culture ahead of where it was at that time. The Church must ALWAYS change and adapt to the changing world around it so as to stay ahead of the curve regarding what it means to be a follower of Christ. Father Martin is following Jesus by looking at LGBT people and relationships through the lens of the Gospel. He is doing the Catholic thing that makes the Development of Doctrine a feature, not a bug, of the Catholic Church. The future of the Church requires that the Gospel be poured fresh into the flexible wine skins of each new generation or it will cease to be Good News. Father Martin was invited by the Vatican to speak at the World Meeting of Families. Calling him a heretical makes YOU A HERETICAL!
@@mcmemmo First I'd like to point out that you don't know Eileen D and you are making unfounded accusations against her. Second I'd like to respond to your statement "The Church must ALWAYS change and adapt to the changing world around it." This is exactly what the Church does not do. It does not follow the world, it leads the world. The Truth does not change as the world moves away from it. The Truth is the Standard by which the world is measured. We might have to learn new ways to address the world, but it is not by changing the Truth. Regarding your statement "to stay ahead of the curve regarding what it means to be a follower of Christ," What specifically are you saying? Can you give a concrete example? To be a follower of Christ is to obey His commandments, out of love for Him. His commandments will never be amended to "stay ahead of the curve" of societal norms. He said he did not come to change a letter of the law. Check out that law. Read the chapter on sexual purity in Leviticus. Our culture idolizes sex. Do we need to get ahead of that curve? At Fatima, Mary told Sr. Lucia that more people go to hell for sins of the flesh. Our efforts should be to encourage purity, not make allowances for impurity out of some misplaced charity. The phrase of not pouring new wine into old wine-skins was a reference to the fact that Jesus was not trying to patch up Judaism. His teaching would not fit withing the limits of Mosaic Law. His remarks were in response to a question about fasting. Your use of the phrase is totally an invention and has nothing to do with what Jesus was talking about. Finally, Fr. Martins invitation to speak at the World Meeting of Families does not in any way confer Sainthood on him.
I'm with you. There has been a lot of confusion within the Catholic church which the Bible has warned of. I find clarity by reading the Bible where God reveals himself directly to me and I encourage everyone to start reading it daily. I think God wants us to have the strength of a clear and peaceful mind during these chaotic times.
Thank you for explaining this in such a reasonable manner. Even Jesus Himself, along with his apostles, continued to warn believers that there would be those who came into the church as wolves in sheep’s clothing in order to cause confusion, doubt and divisions. This is throughout the New Testament that was written over several decades. That’s why the Bereans were continually searching the Scripture in order to see if there was any contradiction to Holy Scriptures in the words and teachings of all those who claimed to be Apostles or teachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
You are a highly insightful and effective teacher of Catholic life. Young people will find you very persuasive. You come across as authentic and well-informed without being churchy or preachy or judgemental. Blessings from Australia.
Thank you Brian for standing up for truth and pointing out heretics. There are so much confusion in the world now. Your voice is so much needed in the confused age.

I also do not hear Father Martin saying that sodomy is the number one problem the church faces today. both active sodomite priests & inactive priests. I also do not hear Father Martin boldly proclaiming that homosexuals should never be ordained to the priesthood which the Catholic Church made very clear during the 8th century.
That's it. Fr. Martin has never upheld the Church's teaching on sexual expression between same-sex couples. He obfuscates and avoids it. He even said that the Church's teaching has never been "received" by the Catholic LGBT community as some sort of proof that there is more doctrinal development needed. That's the closest he has come to explicitly endorsing same-sex sex. He also said that he longs for the day when a gay couple can kiss during mass.

And, tell me, how does anyone manage to live not "acting" according to their identity??????????? Do you think what you listen, read, write or say??? Or you just live without thinking?
The problem with this statement is, it is there to make us feel more comfortable. In the preaching on the mount Jesus himself was very clear that, even thoughts are sinful. "Whoever lusts for a woman in their heart has comitted adultery" he set e pretty high standard because as we can read in John 3 "unless a man is born again he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven" we need a new birth, the way how we are/feel and act is not ok and we should never seek ways to make what we do seem normal and ok but instead seek God for change, new birth and a renewed mind.

@@derekr1013 We all have our crosses to carry, my friend. That is the hardest part of life on earth - finally recognizing what that cross is, then sinning no more. And yes, some crosses are heavier than others. Oh, that it was not so.
@@splashpont I've never been rejected by the Church or her people, but I did purposefully turn away from because I thought my way was better when it definitely wasn't.
@@derekr1013 Hi. One of my children considers herself bisexual and has begun to date people of the same sex within the last two years. I wonder how you came to realize that your "previous life of sin" was not beneficial or healthy for you. Also, from your perspective, what can I do to help my child besides praying for her?
I really enjoyed your level headed commentary Brian. I was really surprised to learn recently, that only approximately 2% of the human population is homosexual. With the frequency that homosexual lifestyles are portrayed in the media, I guess I just assumed it was higher than that. The society around us is pushing an agenda to normalize and celebrate a lifestyle that is contrary to God’s standards. It shouldn’t be surprising, really. For those 2% that are homosexual, I feel for them. I hate that their whole being is minimized to just a sexual orientation. They are people. I don’t know about you, but my sexuality is a small part of who I am, and I can only imagine it is the same for them. Our modern society is so sex obsessed that it reduces people down to identification by who we prefer to have sex with. Sex is for procreation and union in marriage, marriage is for raising families. That is why the Catechism is so beautiful, it’s very clear cut. I think Priests like Father Martin should be careful in their expression of acceptance of the world’s version of a homosexual lifestyle, because it’s a “give an inch take a mile” thing. The church should always accept all people, but it should never go easy on sin. Jesus didn’t. Also, it is important for Catholics to differentiate between actual homosexuality and the worlds perversion of it. Being homosexual doesn’t mean that you automatically need to dance naked in a gay pride parade. That’s the worlds way of perverting those people down to simply a sexualized ideal. And we shouldn’t stand for it or confuse the two.
I have often joked that if aliens came here from another planet and watched our mainstream media, they would assume that at least 50% of the population were homosexual. I think the famous and wide-ranging study done just a few years ago indicated that gay, lesbian and bisexual people accounted for 3% of the population. I must have been influenced by media content, as I, too, was shocked. Such a small percentage drive the agenda!
Thank you for understanding that not all people of a group are the same. The issue of LBTQ+ Catholics is availability of the sacraments (particularly marriage) for two people who love one another and want to establish a christian home together. Thus, theologians rightly discuss this new cultural understanding, unknown to our ancestors.
I agree that a person's sexuality is not their identity, any more than the shape of their nose doesn't make who they are. But I disagree that homosexual couples cannot raise a family. Biologically, they can't. But through adoption, yes. And there are so many children born out of pre-marital sex and left at foster homes, and faces difficulty for adoption because "they're not right". Allowing gay couples to marry and adopt increases chances for foster kids to have better growing environment and gives them equal footing to face society later on. I don't agree with people who say gays have a specific "lifestyle". I think it's more of a skewed perception by the media.
@@cabbage2794 It would have some merit if the whole premise was not flawed. The problem of adoption is not the fact that there aren't enough straight couples. In most (if not all) Western countries couples have to wait very long time for the process to go through. It's mainly caused by legal issues and/or beaurocracy. Gay couples are just a tiny, tiny portion of all the couples who want to adopt so it makes very little sense to turn the whole system upside down just so it can make LGBTQ "community" feel good.
Jenn, clear and factbased thinking!! Used to street rallies as i am, truly all th media publicity this parading of people with inordinate sex orientations gives th impression there are so many of them that we should accommodate their demands. Case of tail wagging th dog?
Thank you Brian you were very charitable on your response to Fr. James Martin! Well spoken, I liked how you said Jesus doesn't leave them there! keep up the great work for Jesus!!! God Love You!
Thanks Brian, you made a point I hadn’t considered- Jesus did reach out to those living lives contrary to God but said basically I love you, come to me and sin no more. With Father Martin and his ilk he is saying come to the Church but it’s ok to continue your sinful ways. Jesus welcomed all, but insisted they stop sinning.
Jesus did not tell everyone to stop sinning. He went to peoples homes, and some of the people followed him (only Matthew from that tax collector crowd). The bible says nothing about the rest of them. Though, Jesus did condemn the self-righteous religious types who pointed fingers!
It doesn't need PHD to refute devil Martin but just remember he has an agenda and he doesn't not hide it . There are some including devil Martin who feels empowered by current Pope .
Yes he does , Jesus call the pharisees by who they are , snakes, hypocrites, sons of snakes. If you don't call evil by it name , you will be hypocrite yourself
Look im just as disappointed in Fr Martin as much as the next person. But should we really call him the devil? I feel like the problem is that noone in the church currently has the backbone to discipline him. We need the leaders of the church to start condemning heresy where heresy is found, and make a call right there and then on what must be done to stop this heresy. But lets not resort to namecalling, it won't achieve anything. But you're right, he is confusing the youth of the church, like "Satan"("the one who opposes") who opposes the teachings of the CCC.
CHRIST THE KING True. Martin opposes The Truth, our Lord Jesus. Martin is therefore an enemy of all Christians. Jesus proclaimed, ‘the men who are not with Me, they are against Me.’
I appreciate your thoughtfulness. I do think it is crucial that we ask questions and be able to question any authority. Any church will have big problems when people feel like they cannot question certain doctrines or traditions. Religious cults require unquestioning obedience. I think Father Martin would agree that all are included in the love of God! For me, the big truth is that God loves all of His Creation, no exceptions. Thanks!
As a new convert to the Catholic church, coming from an Evangelical background, I find your videos very instructive. I can see all your points in this video about the subject in question and must agree with everything you say. Thank you!
I think Fr. Martin is an active gay man who may have broken his vow of celibacy. No straight priest would focus his whole ministry so intensely around this.
Thou finger-pointers and accusers of Fr. Martin or anyone: "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bear fruits worthy of repentance. Do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our ancestor'; for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham. Even now the ax is lying at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."
@po18guy That he cared for alcoholics, however Fr. Martin has said that gay marriages should be viewed as blessed by the church - so that would be against the church
Wow, very well said! Jesus does not leave us where we are! He said to the woman caught in adoltary: Go and sin no more! Jesus wants to help us to change and that is the whole point of Christianity...
The new life was based on "Go and Sin no more!" This priest is nothing more than a wolf in sheeps clothing.Hey Father you to must "Repent and believe in the Gospel!"
"Jesus met people where they were, but He never left them there." This is what James Martin is missing. Speaking only for me, I do not consider James Martin a priest (e.g., I would not go to Confession with him).
As Catholics we shouldn't even try to bend down to use their language. Don't refer to them as "LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ+++" The Catechism states that we should call it homosexuality. We do not sugar coat sin in the same way we should not sugar coat people sinning in co-habitation. It only hurts the sinner. This comes from a former co-habitator BTW. I am beginning to believe that Mr Martin is a homosexual also. It saddens me how many of the sheep he is pushing off the cliff.
Was that the real politically correct terminology he used? I asumed he was joking to exaggerate the silliness of extreme political correctness--like when my teenage kids say "LGBTQ...WERTYUIOP"
He was mocking people who identify themselves with those letters, LGBTQ+. It's OK, Jesus was taunted. Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer was taunted. It's an old story, going on since the woman and man ate the fruit of the tree.
@@splashpont who do you think is mocking them? I don't think anyone is, but this is the problem with all of these "pronouns" it is so easy to misinterpret if you goof up. We all need to just stick to the term homosexual. 1 bug umbrella, because honestly it doesn't matter, no body cares, most people are not going out of their way to discriminate, but it also shouldn't be pushed on us, when we don't want to enable people in their sin and are trying our best to live a life inviting God and guiding our children to the same route.
Out of curiosity what's wrong with co-habitation? I have never lived with a woman who was not family but why is it wrong to live with a woman you deeply love and want to marry before marriage?
You are a wonderful well thought thinker, philosopher. I am grateful to have stumbled across you. I grew with you on our beautiful faith. You are teaching us facts and encourage us to learn our doctrines and traditions and dogmas.thank you.
Thank you for your messages. I like to hear you preaching and trying to explain the catholic faith. May God bless you. The church needs purification, like all of us need, I suppose.
I’ve heard this many times before. People convinced they know the mind of God and “the truth”. And then use that position to comfort themselves as they draw their circle to exclude others because they are “sinners”. It makes for a small-minded church, clutching with fear to the precepts and catechism. Such were the times of Jesus Christ who often rebuked the laws and posturing of the contemporary Jewish leaders for their self-righteousness and chastised them for what we today call pharasiacal posturing. I for one don’t have the confidence to hide behind the walls of an institution that has been so terribly wrong so many times before in human history and claim to hold “the truth”. Micha 6:8 “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
I've already seen a few comments jumping to his defense about how he doesn't contradict Church teaching. Well, I didn't say he does in the video. I was responding to his specific statement he published in response to Bishop Strickland and Cardinal Muller. But, if you want an indictment, here it is. Fr. Martin says that Church teaching is about, "...making those who feel excluded to feel included."
That's an exact quote.

Jesus said: "Go and sin NO MORE" He didn't tell them to keep sinning
I agree.
@@cynthiax56 Are we allowed to lead them out of error? Are we allowed to point out that the Catholic teachings are ideals to aim toward, not rules to be condemned by? Or do we just say, "Sorry, you're a sinner. Instantly change the way I want or go to hell."
The Bible touches on sexual morality. Yet it pounds on economic morality. Time and again we are told to take care of widows and orphans. Don't engage in unfair and unholy economic practices. Most of the Old Testament and much of the New are about these issues. Anti-gay passages are few by comparison. (They do exist, and I'm not claiming they don't or shouldn't be obeyed.)
Now there is no practice so devastating to the poor as usury.
I'm just asking you to show the same amount of forgiveness and understanding for LGBT sins as you do for your own.

Misguided charity.... Can charity ever be truly misguided? At it's heart is love.
@@splashpont - Respectfully, I think the better word above would be "mercy", but yes, I believe both Charity and Mercy can be misguided.

Pray for the purification of our church
Maybe you should start your own church like Martin Luther.

This mentality is affecting so many churches, not just yours. I thought this would be one area that the rcc would not give in on.
Thank God we have the Magesterium and the Catechism alongside the Bible teaching the fullness of the Gospel so when we have leaders not willing to give us the Gospel we can still find it and the orthodox truth of Jesus.
Why surprise What you gave up on other wicked RRC would give up on you.
Mr Holdsworth, Prayers from your family here in New Zealand. Remain strong.
Beautiful. You are gentle, eloquent while affirming the truth. God bless you.
@ Brian Holdsworth, greetings from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. You are a doing a brilliant job towards real evangelization via social media. God bless. Fr Val Lima.
Very well said, Brian! It is genuine love and goodness that seeks to save the lost as Jesus did, by showing them the truth, instead of affirming them in their lost way.
Nice to hear this from the younger generation. Bless you for seeing the difference. I’m only 60 and grew up during the hippy generation. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized a lot of what you are saying. You are either in 100% or your not a Catholic.
Brilliant. Thank you for a clearly and well reasoned response.
So happy to have you as a Catholic brother and so grateful to God to have brought you home to the Church. You are a beacon of light.
We all need to build our Catholic faith stronger now. Be a proud Catholic. Don't let all these evil things make us leave or walk away from the church! Great video thank you!
YES
You have spoken like someone really full of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for pouring light over so much darkness!
@@mcmemmo Lol ok
Martins invitation to speak at the World Meeting of Families does not in any way confer Sainthood on him.
hey! I recognize ur comments from Daily Wire on Barron! Ur cool! :)
@@accidentalbreakfast1605 Lol too funny! Thank you so much! I don't care if my Mom paid you to say that - I'm all happy now 😄😄!
LOOOVE the Knight helmet behind you! Never noticed it before.
DEUS VULT, me too
Thank you for explaining this in such a reasonable manner.
Thank you Brian. Well done! God bless you.
Wow the world needs more men like you..GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Father Martin is confusing everything. Faithful Catholics that have followed the authority of the church for all of our lives and trying to be faithful and following the dogmas and doctrines feel completely undermined and feel thrown by the wayside by priests like him. We always knew that you don't condemn anyone but you walk alongside them but always teaching TRUTH. TRUTH. TRUTH. never discriminate, walk alongside the person but "everything" is not ok.
Good post, Celia, in my humble opinion.
And the sick part about it is Fr Martin is confusing people on purpose I personally believe father Martin is a homosexual himself so he wants to force the church to except, sexuality as normal that will not cannot be done Mt 16:18 thank you Jesus
Dear Celia, I do think that many Catholics don't care about welcoming different people, getting to know them, respecting or loving them... I do think that many Catholics just want one single thing : being right :) You think you're right? Well, YOU ARE RIGHT! Happy?
@@paulparis2010 it does not make me happy. I just want to live the best way I can to honor my Lord and Savior... the Church really does teach to walk with the person without judgment but why confuse everyone saying "everything is ok" ,,when it is truly not.... it would make me happy to see some people disappear but it's not right. So...
Not to mention that the message of the gospel always involved repentance, "repent, and believe in the gospel." Jesus always called his disciples to turn away from sin, not to continue on as they had always lived before. By the way, like the Les Pauls in the background. Anyone who keeps a sunburst Les Paul on their wall is okay in my book.
Brian May God continue, to bless you with graces, wisdom and love.
Just listened to your response to Fr. Martin = a FLOOD OF LIGHT into every corner of inordinate reliance on self and emotional sentiment, illuminating them with the light of Church teaching! THANK you and th Holy Spirit Who surely guided you!!! Hopefully we all STAY with Christ reaching out our hand to those caught up in today's tide of relativism

Blasphemy
John 6:66. Jesus taught the truth of the Eucharist and many walked away. How inclusive was Jesus when it came to the truth and people could not accept it?
The problem with Father Martin is that I do not hear him saying that all homosexuals should live a chaste life for the sake of the Kingdom & for the sake of the Catholic Church.
Frank Kinley and *even* Pope Francis (gasp!) says homosexuals should not be ordained!!
That's it.
@@rockpaperscissors82 The Kiss of Peace (Shalom). Like all people do in Europe, even if they are two guys. Like Jesus did, even when his betrayer came to say hello in the Garden of Gethsemane.

outstanding video. Fr. Martin is a confused priest and a confused individual, personally he should just go be a social worker. Really tired of him and his heretical teachings.
No we definitely do not need for him to be a social worker or in the mental health field in any way shape or form he already confuses enough people as it is.
instead of using the word confused, it looks more like manipulative

Fr. Bob+ Very good answer, The Church does not hate the sinner, we dislike the sin. Like you said we have too follow the teaching of the Church. We can not change it on our own way of thinking.
The devil used father Martin to create division within the catholic church. We pray to God, that may Our Almighty God may enlighten his mind and do the holy will of God.

You speak in such a sweet way that is inspiring. I bet Jesus spoke like that too...
Hey Brian great video..I would add that Christ/ church is always reaching out to everyone..but like you said He reaches out to transform lives in order to put away their sinfulness ..Christ said to the woman caught in adultery " neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more " keep up the awesome work Brian!
I love Fr. Mike Schmitz's explanation of homosexuality. He states that [ sic] ," if one has those feelings or identity, that is not a sin. ACTING ON IT is..." I urge anyone to look him up. This is not his personal opinion.
Thank you! I stumbled upon your website and loved it!
Prayers for you and your family!🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@Moerilind If I had to read between the lines I believe this thinking and desires would be more akin to random thoughts and base desires that need to be controlled with a lifetime of discipline. Random thoughts and desires arent sin. It is the choice to fantasize and reflect on those thoughts once you realize you are doing it that is sin.
@@logansweet4190 exactly! Only if one chooses to dwell on a thought does it become sin. Feelings that pop up in our minds are not sin. It’s like a man noticing a pretty woman and acknowledging that she is pretty is not a sin, willfully and consciously lusting after her is!

Wow! Well said. Love and truth! We have all been conceived in sin, and we sin and have been sinned against. We are not what God has created us to be. We fall short. Good video. Thank you for also introducing me to a new word - pernicious. I think we should all use that word more often since by the very definition of said word is how the enemy has been working in our society for decades to bring about its destruction. I also wish for Christians to reintroduce the phrase 'momento mori' as a greeting to each other.

67 year old catholic homosexual. You are my true brother, I do not know about Fr. Martin. Love always. Truth always. Peace comes from living the truth. I feel such pain for my homosexual brothers. 33 year old Catholic homosexual here, I agree totally, I am so grateful for having been snatched up from my previous life of sin. It isn't easy but we were always warned we would have to carry our cross and follow.
@@derekr1013 We all have our crosses to carry, my friend. That is the hardest part of life on earth - finally recognizing what that cross is, then sinning no more. And yes, some crosses are heavier than others. Oh, that it was not so.
Rejection by the Church and her people is a heavy cross to bear.
Case of tail wagging th dog?

saw this on reddit! awesome! content man!
Grear video! I would go as far to say that people like Father Martin are jumping into the rapids with the drowning person.
He’s literally pushing ppl down into the water .
Brain, you are appreciated always. i envy your calm, logical, and wise demeanor.
It doesn't need PHD to refute devil Martin but just remember he has an agenda and he doesn't not hide it . There are some including devil Martin who feels empowered by current Pope .
I wonder if God calls Martin names.
Thanks!
Thank you Brian, keep up the good work!

As Catholics we shouldn't even try to bend down to use their language. Don't refer to them as "LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ+++"
The Catechism states that we should call it homosexuality.
@@Mari_Oh no, I don't know the exact letters used either... lol

“...his book has ecclesial approval from his Jesuit superiors because he is a Jesuit...” Oh okay, I get it now
And Pope Francis is a Jesuit. They are destroying the Church.
Very good point! I am reformed but I will agree with it as long as it allied with scripture. Your motive seemed good may God lead you to all truth
