    I bought this instead of the George as we already have a Henry HVR 200 and this was a fair bit cheaper at the time of purchase (£159 vs around £230 for the George and got the Henry Pro Kit for £30 extra, both at Argos). For curiosity, I tried placing the Henry Wash motor unit on the regular Henry and it fits fine. This may be a useful tip for those who temporarily need beefier suction on their regular Henry as the Henry Wash has a more powerful motor.
    Our previous carpet washer was the original 3-in-1 VAX canister with "The only vacuum that washes" printed on the body. However, the motor now sounds like a hammer-drill and has lost most of its suction. It certainly had a lot of use over the years, unlike our previous fragile dry vacuum (a Dyson DC08) that was mostly held together with duct tape after just two years!

    Was going to get a George this month after watching one of your reviews on it.
    But think I would rather this one as I got a Henry turbo vacuum 160 range with extra tools as I got all the stuff still off my old Henry 200A that blew up after many years of faithful service.
    And my orange vax 6131 also died 4 months ago again after many years of faithful service, but was incredibly hard work especially doing stairs and sofas and rugs (most of my flooring is vinyl and laminate) was like a work out you would be pouring with sweat after it and didn’t have a jet nozzle and upholstery tool is tiny if you used one you know…
    I think this is more ideal as don’t want hoover bits all over the place, and it looks sooo much better than the vax 6130/6131 range.
    I used a karcher professional puzzi carpet cleaner in work had jets like the Henry and George and was amazing and so easy.

      @@ibaisaic I picked one up today on Facebook for £115.00p
      only been used a couple of times looks new and tools were still in packaging bar the big fish tail head and tubes.
      All works this one has stainless steel tubes that’s the only difference I noticed.
      Can’t wait to try it out tomorrow morning lol 😊
      The suction and the pump sound far superior to my old vaxs and about 40% less motor noise I think it will be fine for some sofas big rugs, stairs and my mattress in the summer.
      So hopefully it will last even longer than my old vax.
      But everything feels solid and more high quality so I feel it will be fine.
      It’s not as if my carpets get filthy but I do have pets so will always be handy to have around.

    Tip for great stain removal - dissolve one or two tablespoons of BORAX in hot water and add it to the cleaning solution as a booster. Your carpets will come out MUCH cleaner with this (especially if they were badly spotted or stained), and it works fantastic without adding any extra foam or suds whatsoever.

    Hi Roger! Love your calm, patient detailed demonstration! You could be a staple demonstrator for vacuums on the Shopping Channel! Here’s a mystery I would love to be solved: Why did Numatic’s founder choose the name “Henry”? Was it his late father? Or a tribute to King Henry the 8th? There must be some historical reason this is the name that was chosen. Had it been me, I would have chosen something with a “v”...like Victor!

    You'rd being misleading when you say "it has no agitation" when you described the fish tail tool. That's self evident as there are no mechanical parts. The idea of course is not simply to spray the cleaning solution and suck it up, but to work the solution in to the pile (thereby agitating) and then suck up the dirty water. This process is repeated until the water is clean.

    as for the vents my 1740 George has all of them, as for the people complaining about the carpet washing "fishtail" tool, a lot of/most professional machines, such as those from Alltec and the like generally only have a standard wand, our ones at work do and the main one is not what you would call a 'small' machine (think more chest freezer!).

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t have part numbers. You can buy a complete Henry tool kit from Amazon and a filter and bags to fit a George. You can also buy complete Henry tool kits for less on Amazon, but they won’t be the genuine parts. Here’s a link to the genuine tool kit. amzn.to/3IpIBwa. You can also get a filter amzn.to/3wLrnHh and bags amzn.to/3Tosq8W. By the time you have bought all those to fit a Henry wash, it will probably be cheaper to get a George, especially if it’s on offer.

      @@ibaisaic thanks for the info. I was just considering a used Henry wash which may work out cheaper than a George but also opens up scope for either on the used market.

    Hi Roger. (late to the party😂)
    I bit the bullet and brought this the other week (still unboxed) and was wondering if therecwas anything better to of brought that agitated the carpet as you clean?
    Do you rate it as a really good caroet cleaner for a small home that only has carpet on the staircase and landing with 2 small bedrooms.
    I've seen your review, and wondering if I've brought right, or should I gibfir something else in your opinion Roger? 🤔

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s great for carpeted stairs, upholstery and car cleaning but not so good on carpets although if you only have small carpeted rooms, it may be fine. I prefer an upright carpet washer with revolving brushes.

  • @SteveBlues87
    @SteveBlues87 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thinking about getting one of these. I already have a Henry, so will the Henry stuff attach to this for dry cleaning? If so I can sell the Henry base unit on it's own and just use the Henry Wash. The only downside is having to keep changing stuff over to switch between dry vacuuming and washing. Might just keep the Henry for dry.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All the Henry tools will fit the Henry Wash. You would need to use the filter from Henry which will also fit providing you have a standard sized Henry and not the compact 160 version.

    I need to buy a new carpet cleaner as I have light grey carpets.
    Trying to decide on a Cylinder type cleaner (handy for the car) or a Upright. I did have a Vax All Terrain which was fantastic, just wondering how well the cylinders can work as they don't have rotating brushes.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cylinder or tank type carpet cleaners are much harder work to use on carpets than the upright models and in general do a poorer job as they don't have revolving brushes to dislodge the dirt. A cleaner like the Henry Wash however is better for the car, stairs and upholstery as it has more suction and a longer hose.

    • @dalerobinsuk
      @dalerobinsuk 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you kindly for your reply, I downsized from a 3 story house to a ground floor apartment, so stairs not an issue. I got rid of the All Terrain as it was so heavy to carry up 2 lots of stairs, but now I'm in my new place I wish I kept it :) I did wonder about these cylinder cleaners without brushes so thank you for clarifying that.
      Although I have only 1 floor I have 3 vacuum cleaners and 2 handhelds, one of those is a Miele Revolution 700, not seen another one like it as although it's a cylinder it has remote control of the vacuum power levels on the handle and also an electric brush which you can turn on and off from the handle. Wonder if you have seen this model personally?

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think I had that model a while ago, but sold it. I still have a later version with the power head and handle controls. Currently Miele don't offer any power head cylinders in the UK.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be cheaper to buy the George than a Henry Wash and the extra tools it needs. The Henry Wash is designed for wet use only, but you can put in a bag, add a filter from a George or large Henry and any dry cleaning tools you want. The George comes with all the tools you need to use it as a regular vacuum.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that’s normal. The pump will be noisy before the water starts to flow through it. You will notice the noise again when you need to refill the solution tank. Never run the pump when the solution is not flowing through it. It’s always best to switch off the pump when you are going over the carpet/upholstery to remove the dirty solution.
