  • Levy is a new name in the electric scooter market but you probably know them from their signature feature - a swappable battery. I'll have a full review coming out soon but for now, we'll primarily focus on our first impressions from the unboxing to the first ride. #scooter #electricscooter #electricscooterreview

    I am in Canada and bought this from a wholesale company but it is branded as the X7. Great scooter for the girlfriend as she only weighs 110lbs and it really goes quick with pickup. I am 230lbs and while it is still fun, I had to go for a more powerful scooter. The swappable batteris are awesome. Actually bought the 6ah spare from levy and there is a difference between the 5ah one. Keep one in a backpack and away you go! Nice review!

    Thank you for the unboxing! Between this one and a segway es2 if it goes on sale again cause last week Target had $120 off so the prices were a $10 difference. Can't wait to see your review!

      Thanks Jonathon! I'll have that up soon. The Levy has been very reliable for the past few weeks. I have no complaints as of now :)

    Would this be suitable for door to door deliveries (where I am riding primarily on sidewalks and stopping at every house on a street)…if not, is there a scooter you’d recommend for this purpose? I live in Colorado at high elevation and on-foot deliveries is super taxing. Thanks!

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Levy would definitely not be the best vehicle for door to door especially on high elevation areas. I'd look into more powerful scooters or ebikes for that kind of thing.

    Nice review. Now I'm just wondering why no one has reviewed the Levy Plus. I'm interested in it, especially when you add in the larger 10" tires, coupled with the stronger motor + bigger battery.

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! Yeah I haven't seen too much coverage with the Levy Plus. If its constructed like the original Levy than I think it would be a good option for the price.

    • @thetds101
      @thetds101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@RunPlayBack It's actually an updated version, with a larger battery, bigger 10" tires, and a more powerful motor. I'm kind of surprised that no one has reviewed it as of yet.

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@thetds101 Yup I have no idea why there isn't much coverage on the plus. Seems to be more coverage on scooters like the Fluidfreeride.

    G’day mate. IF you run out of battery, can you still get home using the kick? Or are you walking?

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Philip! So that's actually happened to me and I don't recommend it. I can kick with it on a smooth road and slight downhill. Any other terrain and it is NOT a good time. Better off walking with it.

    what about ability to carry? In the city, it is important for me to ride, but then be able to pick up and put over my shoulder get on public transit, etc

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's manageable to carry, I'm not sure its light enough to put over your shoulder. What's cool is that the battery is removable which is a good percentage of the weight. So you could carry the battery in a backpack or bag and it will make the scooter a bit lighter.

    Any thoughts on this vs the Ninebot models?

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Joshua! I haven't tried the latest Ninebot generation but the Gen 2 ES1 does feature front shock absorption and is priced a little higher than the Levy. With that said, the removable internal battery on the Levy is what I think makes it unique in terms of convenience and portability. I think it's the right price for scooters in a similar class.

    Found an unbranded version with 10" tires and really like it.
    The big tires are a big improvement on anything rough and is very stable.
    Bought in Canada for $500, the negative was discovering it came with the cheaper 5 mAh battery.
    Bought a replacement 6.4 for it but it was expensive.
    Just got it so range is unknown but top speed for me is about 25kph.
    Just noticed Levy sells replacement batteries for $150 USD... Should have shopped there.
    I have high end bikes so the build is meh but considering the cost it's decent and the stem feels solid which is rare among these things.
    I kinda prefer the large one piece casting of the chassis vs multiple pieces welded, it should make for a significantly stronger structure plus adds some flex and clearance vs more common integrated battery models.
    The biggest weakness is the battery's capacity due to size limits but the trade offs are worth it.
    For the money, this is superior, especially the 10" wheel version.

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wow I didn't know there was a 10" wheel version of this. That would definitely make a big difference. Overall, I'm really pleased with this scooter. It does what it does no more, no less. It's not the best in range or speed but as you said, for the money it's a pretty good deal.

    I was looking at this scooter and was interested but what got me was the tires. They are not solid tires which is what I want as I'm not trying to risk getting a flat cause then I gotta go spend more money buying spare tires/innertubes and paying someone to do it for me (Yes I'm lazy lol) so I think the only one to look at right now is the HiBoy S2 Pro which has these tires but only goes up to 19 mph. Do you know of any scooter that has these tires and goes up to 23pmh at least?

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, I'm not sure which scooter that does that. But check out the Fluidfreeride scooters. They have high performance ones that definitely go past 20mph.

    • @JKO716
      @JKO716 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RunPlayBack Yea I checked them out and they go up to 25mph but the front tire is air. Bummer. If I find out the tires can be replaced on the Fluidfreeride scooters with solid ones then maybe I'll consider getting one. Thanks for your reply :)

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JKO716 I think one thing to think about is once you're going past 20mph, a solid tire is going to wreck havoc on your legs/body if the scooter doesn't have suspension and you are riding on rough roads. The air absorbs some of those vibrations.

    • @JKO716
      @JKO716 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RunPlayBack Oh I didn't know that. You see, my wife has a scooter that has both solid tires and goes up to 15mph and doesn't have suspension and I don't have any complaints with it. But now that you tell me that if I go past 20mph, I can have problems. Damn it's just knowing these roads here in NYC, I know imma catch a flat and then going through the hassle of buying spare tires and paying someone to do it for me is gonna be a bitch. After you telling me that, I think I'll just go with the HiBoy S2 Pro for now.

  • @palavoyz

    Can anyone tells me how it fares on un uphill ride? implying all roads are smooth and clean.

    • @RunPlayBack
      @RunPlayBack  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So it will depend on how steep of an incline and your weight. For example check out when I go up this steep hill here: th-cam.com/video/k9sSDPepwKU/w-d-xo.html You can see the elevation gain and I pushed a little bit to go faster and not strain the motor too much. For reference I'm about 130lbs.

    Got this las week,
    Don’t do any good at inclination, even 20 degree. Battery not even go to 12 if u ride on third gear, and yes u must ride 3 gear or forget about going even the slightest hill. Have ur charger with you all the time ie going to work etc, only advantage is removable battery so that u can recharge it in ur desk. It’s looks good but has its drawbacks, but I guess this is what all escooter a gives u. People just make videos to get views and endorsements. It’s just an ok scooter like in the same category like xiomi, ninebot etc.
