I once heard someone say "Maybe one in 1000 kids who bought Sgt Peppers in 1967 started a band. But, I guarantee that all of the kids who bought the first Velvet Underground album in 1967 started a band."

A good story about Lou and others and that unique time. Raw and unapologetic energy coupled with creative people in good place. That music and vibe are still inspiring. Miss you, Lou.
    Thank you for video.

For the sake of curiosity, I purchased my first Marilyn Manson album the other day. He, evidently, presumably, was influenced by some of the people mentioned in this video. It appears that his work is substantially for the internet generations and later progeny. He seems now to have come into the community and friendship of the likes of Alice Cooper, Ossie Osbourne, some of the more prominent rappers. Even now, he is referred to as a pop icon. Which is fine. But it doesn't speak to me. Then again, KISS didn't speak to me, either. Manson seems more surfacy, style, which might be what millenials want in this age of going viral. Think I'll stick with Patti, Lou, Bowie and the like. It is what they say - it's generational. 🤔

To be fair Marilyn Manson hasn't been popular since the 90s. He's hardly an example of what people are currently listening to, and he's more or less regarded as a predator today.. Also he's way more gen X than millennial.

@@raisedbyhippies3792 I couldn't agree more and there was more I could say, but space is limited. He seems more like an Ur-Lady GaGa, raised in the American suburbs of the later 20th Century - like me - and so influenced by everything and anything that came over the FM radio. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Along with predatory behavior, he likely knows every asset he owns and where every last penny is going. So, he's a web savvy entrepreneur, too. 🤔
