I am not sure why but I LOVE watching the auger, especially when Aaron lifts it and reverse's the dirt. It is so FUN watching it spray out. I guess it's the little things in life, HA! 🥰
Hi~ As soon as I saw them near the tree going in with their shovels, I thought... What fun memories they'll have looking back after the trees have matured. However, Benjamin's excitement for underwater swimming with the fam may be a stronger memory! So cute!🙋
Your gardens are so beautiful, all your hard work has certainly paid off. It must be so rewarding to just walk outside and see all the beauty you have created.
I just love how often you make a big tree planting a whole family event. Like you're welcoming the tree to the family. No doubt that loving energy makes all the difference. 💖🌲🌸
You are not only building beautiful gardens with the kids helping but your also building beautiful memories with the kids! Benjamin’s eyes while he was talking about swimming…. Oh my goodness!
While it's hot, you, your mom,and Monica could go antique shopping, or you do some cooking, or you guys could take a couple of days off..😊 It's supposed to be 107 here in East Tennessee. I love summer, but not temperatures that hot. Stay safe.
I live in East Tennessee and I just checked the 7 day forecast and the highest temperature for the coming week is 97 degrees. I can't imagine there would be a 10 degrees difference in the same area.
When you grow up on the prairies, you plant trees several years before you build a house on a property. It’s okay to get the trees done first, Aaron. 😊
For the chickens, I just saw a lady who froze water in shallow tubs and put them in the chicken coop and the chickens would actually stand on them to cool off.
What the 4h kids did for the chickens and rabbits during our county fair - 1st week of August - was fill 2 liter soda bottle with water and freeze them, and rotate out the thawed ones for fresh frozen ones. It helped a lot, and you would see the animals cuddling up against the bottles. The fair building would also run misters during the day, but the kids brought the frozen bottles.
So much accomplished before the heat wave descends! I love that Laura shares her strategy for dealing with the climate, a gardener's constant opponent.
Crossing my fingers that the extremely warm weather and time spent in the studio inspires a succulent arrangement, fairy garden, or terrarium. I’ve always loved all the little projects you find to do some indoor gardening on the hot summer days not fit for the gardener. It makes for a nice little oasis of calm and cool in the midst of the busy season. 🍄🦔🌵
Love love love the trees going in, also love Benjamin telling us he's can swim underwater and then his look on his face reminds me of my grandson so much. We just love you all!
Loved seeing Benjamin and Samantha helping with the tree...they are the sweetest kids! Good job Benjamin going underwater!! He is not camera shy at all! Loved his facial expression! I could totally handle the heat better if ours were dry heat, no humidity, and cooler at night. The high humidity does me in! Our weekend in Wisconsin is going to be very hoy, and VERY humid...YUK!! Have fun swimming everyone!!!!
Love when all four of you gatden together. Kids are getting so big. Love love the birch tree. Looks beautiful Great team work. Enjoy your swimming, I grew up with a pool, i have great family memories.❤❤❤❤
Yes Laura....keep stressing how different humidity makes it.....everyone thinks I'm crazy when I say I cannot garden because it's 94 degrees and 100% humidity.
@dianegougelet1829 I honestly don't understand what mankind has done to the environment. It's stifling at 7a most mornings. My garden shuts down june 1st and I'm in maintenance mode til mid September because I just cannot be outside more than 2 hours and that's pushing it. At this point I feel sorry for the poor plants having to stay out there in this heat.
Love seeing all the new plants and trees going in. So fun seeing Benjamin and Samantha helping out. Samantha using the shovel like mom and dad do was precious. They’re growing up too fast. Hope all got to cool off some in the pool. Enjoy your weekend.
So proud of Benjamin being able to go under water! Swimming is an important skill. So glad your kids know how to swim and enjoy it. Everything looks so beautiful Laura. You all do such an amazing job in your gardening. 😊
I put a frozen gallon of water in front of a fan set on low (they really dont like wind blowing on them) to cool the hens at night....the gentle breeze over ther ice is very cooling. Benjamin's "guess what" sounded just like my 6 year old grandson telling me his accomplishments my my heart sing. You are blessed and its wonderful to see that you and family know it❤
I love how the kids help with planting trees. Little Samantha already knows how to use her foot to push on the shovel. So cute. You're awesome parents !
I love watching your videos and looking forward to meeting you next week in Chicago! I'm from Houston, TX, zone 9, and wish I could grow some of the many different beautiful plants you grow in lower zones. My sons and I visited aquascape in February '22 and took a class in pond building. We came back to TX and built my pond. Your appearance for the pond tour has given me the perfect opportunity to visit aquascape again to see the pond and facility when it's not frozen! I've created a paradise in my backyard, so I don't want to leave for long but figure a 4 day trip to see more beautiful ponds and meet you and Aaron in Chicago will be a real treat!
Good evening Laura and family, it's so nice to see your family out In The gardens. Love how Samantha Grace handles that shovel pretty soon she'll be saying I'll dig the hole.😊 Your property looks amazing SO many different colors and plants, trees. When is your next garden tour? Thanks for sharing, stay hydrated. Have a awesome weekend. 👋🙂
Have fun swimming with the darlings. Loved Benjamin’s special facial expression earlier, very funny. The trees look great. During the heat this summer, it would be great to take a major antique break. 😂❤😂
I see the vision perfectly. It's so enjoyable when you plant on "Mars" but in the end, they are all placed according to the master plan. Your property is stunning!
It's so crazy how different the 'heat' is in one state/zone vs another. I'm in North Texas, zone 8b - when it's hot, it's HOT. Todays high 94, low 74. The only difference between sun and shade is getting or not getting sunburn. If we get a little breeze, that does help!
Just a great video today. Just love the are the plants and trees you planted today can't wait to see how they all do. And so lovely to see Benjamin and Samantha. Just so cute they are. Hope you all enjoyed your swimming. And Laura were was your hat. You need it with all the heat you are having.
I love how the children are so happy to help with the planting. One day they will look at that tree and remember how they helped plant it. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! Have a great afternoon cooling off 🤗❤️
Laura & Aaron, I hope everyone knows this will grow in and make sense.. the vision, that whole area in Mars TRUST ME.. when I write, is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS ALREADY!! yes I yelled it!! ❤ I LOVE where you two decided on putting the Birch ! Laura, that new plant with the pink glorious flowers are so beautiful, I am definitely going to be on the hunt for that Proven Winners perennial! I can’t wait to smell the fragrance. Thank you for sharing.
❤Hi, Samantha and Benjamin are so cute helping plant the trees! And Benjamin goes under water! They are getting so big! What a treat to see them all of you working together to plant! Love the Birch!
I love watching your children planting with you. Samantha has her own shovel. When she had her foot on that shovel digging it was so cute. Soon cute. Seen mama do it. Lol
Mars (South Garden) is looking unbelievable. It's a bit like an artist who starts with a blank canvas - it is a slow building of colour and texture, with each stroke of the paint the idea develops but changes depending on what happens with the paint. I think the South garden development has been so quick!! and as you video in that area is becoming a backdrop to your projects. Loving all of it and just always excited to watch the development of your beautiful space. Love how the tree planting is a family affair- precious memories. Thank you again for all the effort you put into making your channel - much appreciated.
I love that you have your kiddos out with you. I did that with my son. He was helping me weed, plant, etc long before I really got into gardening. He mentioned the other day when I was showing him the yard that one of his coworkers had her son out in the garden, just like I did. I loved that he remembered that, and that even though he lives in an apartment he still appreciates our garden. Your kiddos will always remember helping mom and dad in the gardens.
Gardens are beautiful, I think maybe we need another garden tour 😊.you are lucky with the heat here in Northern Ontario Canada we have heat and lots of humidity and it doesn't cool down at nite ,it's terrible
I just love those trees!! You guys know how to pick some really beautiful things! It’s honestly really fun to watch that huge auger go! Bet you are soooo glad that you didn’t hand dig the hole in that heat! Your little sweet peas jumping right in to help is precious 🥰 Give Benjamin a high five, being able to go under the water is a big deal!! Great job sunshine!!
“Hey Benjamin, what are these?” “Uhh… hollyhocks” I love it! So awesome that the kids are learning about things their parents are passionate about - and gardens, at that! My kids know some of the plants we have ( and a lot of my incredible succulents and cacti), but I didn’t get back into gardening for a long time after we moved - so I missed some important time teaching them.
Here I am thinking hopefully you’re still at this TH-cam gig in ten years and we all can enjoy seeing how these birch trees and others will look as they grow into their size. Anyway, happy gardening. I saw you first on TH-cam a few years back while I was searching for Christmas wreath making tutorials.
I would love to know what “dry heat” feels like. Our humidity is almost impossible this year. Some days you feel like you can’t breathe. No way can we plant anything right now, it would take 2 holes, 1 for the plant, and 1 for the gardener!
Agreed! What does it feel like?? I’m in Ontario, Canada with 60, 70, 90% humidity in the forecast. My friend in Colorado told me today they have 11%. Said it feels like your nose hairs get scorched 😂
@@alekgust It feels like opening your hot oven, except all over your body, not just your face. 😏 It is easier to cool off in the shade when it’s dry heat, and you sure don’t sweat as much, but it’s still HOT.
I grew up around where she is in eastern Oregon, and I now live in the humid Maine coast. Its 60% humidity on average, but I’ve also experienced Hawaii at about 70-80% humidity… I prefer the humidity. Probably because I have extremely dry skin, so anytime I went outside in the summer as a kid my skin was practically falling off my face (especially in wildfire season when the air quality was bad, and we also felt like we couldn’t breathe). However, humidity comes with more bugs, and it tends to intensify any unpleasant smells lingering nearby, so if I had normal skin I would probably not mind going back home to the desert.
Benjamin was so cute with his funny face, and Laura climbing onto the tree container to loosen it...the best! This video really made me smile! I love the placement of the four trunk birch. Beautiful. If you decide to limb up the chitalpa into a tree form, will you show us how you do it please?
Going swimming with my sister at my Aunt's is one of my favorite memories. ❤ Loved seeing Benjamin get excited about going under water! Of course, the garden beds look beautiful. In MI, I also love a sedum in a container!
I’ve got a bunch of autumn joy sedum and I agree it’s the easiest plant on the planet. I’ve learned though that they survive just fine on very little water, but it they get water….they get enormous in comparison. Like 3-4 feet tall and wide.
That's so sweet, the whole family planting the trees, memories of a lifetime! I think that being in the pool is going to be the best thing! Enjoy the time together! Blessings 💞🙏🏻💞
Love seeing the little ones help shovel dirt. They already know they can contribute to the family's work. (And Benjamin, I loved that you told us you can go underwater!)
Oh that Benjamin! I loved his announcement. Everything that you did today looks great, and seeing the whole family plant the linden together triggered a thought. In ten years the kids will look back on days like this with pride, knowing they planted that huge tree! 😊
Love all the tree placements. So cool to see what they visually add to each area! And can I just say, how sweet are the kids and how wonderful that they don't interrupt when others are talking! It seems so many TH-camr's kids just interrupt them and talk over them when they are trying to talk and it is confusing/distracting to the viewer. Have enjoyed watching this channel for many years and watching the family grow is so lovely!! 🤗
115° here in Scottsdale AZ. Feels like 59° here in the pool. Lol. Stay cool & hydrare. God bless you and your family, and many 🙏🏻 prayers. Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister ❤🎉😅
I'm so glad you didn't pull the Chitalpa shrubs this spring. Catalpa trees are very late in breaking dormancy, in Colorado they don't leaf out until June and they have a most wonderful fragrance.
Apparently Chitalpas can live 40-150 years! Just thought it was a cool fact. I've never heard of this plant before so I had to do a little google research. They look awesome!
I love watching the kids with their shovels helping plant. They are growing so much, they are at that age they just shoot up.....such a beautiful family. ❤❤❤❤
Laura, recently on the game show, Jeopardy, they showed a picture of a distressed leaf, stating it looked that way because it was deficient in what mineral. Thanks to you, I knew the answer, iron! Love your channel. Thanks for all the information you provide. Came in handy for me in the most unexpected way.
16:54 "I can go under water!" That is fantastic Benjamin! 🥰
I am not sure why but I LOVE watching the auger, especially when Aaron lifts it and reverse's the dirt. It is so FUN watching it spray out. I guess it's the little things in life, HA! 🥰

I LOVE that planting a tree is just a matter-of-fact part of Samantha and Benjamin’s day.
Hi~ As soon as I saw them near the tree going in with their shovels, I thought... What fun memories they'll have looking back after the trees have matured. However, Benjamin's excitement for underwater swimming with the fam may be a stronger memory! So cute!🙋

Thx Guys frm SoCal zone 10.
Samantha using her foot to push down the shovel into the ground at 13:50 like an adult was adorable. A family affair. How sweet. ❤
I noticed that too! She’s a pro already!
I loved that too!!!
Just like Laura
Your gardens are so beautiful, all your hard work has certainly paid off. It must be so rewarding to just walk outside and see all the beauty you have created.

I love it when the whole family gets involve planting. ❤

Apparently Chitalpas can live 40-150 years! Just thought it was a cool fact. I've never heard of this plant before so I had to do a little google research. They look awesome!
Wow, great unknown plant. Wish it was zone5
I love watching the kids with their shovels helping plant. They are growing so much, they are at that age they just shoot up.....such a beautiful family. ❤❤❤❤
Nothing better than seeing the whole family planting a tree!❤
At 5:06, I’m peeking the competition containers behind you! Number 4 is still my favorite!!
Dear Laura, could you talk us through a tour of all your grasses...cause their now almost all in their prime...thanks a lot❤
You have a great family all working together in the garden. so inspiring!
Everything takes time that is worth it!! I love watching your family working together
Can't believe the changes you've made. Absolutely beautiful!
