It's sad that the dual-monitor capability is talked about like it's something amazing when so many PC laptops and even Intel Macs have had this for years. The SSD thing is the same. They nuked it with the M2 only to bring it back and it's looked at like it's an advancement of some kind.
It's sad but it's also a reality. i think people seriously underestimate the advantage of native dual-monitor support. IMO, it's enough to make the M3 the obvious option for anyone who uses their laptop on a desk.

Originally I was thinking of getting a base M3 Air, but at the last minute I decided to get an upgraded M2 from the Apple refurbished store. 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage with an M2 for $1,189 just seems like a better way to go than a base M3 for $1,099 - even though I'm sure the base M3 is more than adequate. Hell, I had the base M1 since it's release and it's remained far beyond adequate not just for basic tasks, but even for light creative work and heavy office work while on vacation (when I didn't want to bring my work machine). That laptop was so good that it was by far the longest I've had a laptop without even an itch to get something new. I ultimately just ended up wanting the newer design more than anything.
I just bought an M2 MacBook Air 8 gigs of ram 512 hard drive costing me $1268 including tax and that’s a killer deal here in Sweden where Apple products are just so expensive. One week ago it would’ve been $1804 for the same machine. I’m just a normal user and don’t need the extra ram. 8 gigs is well enough for me. I have never ever ever had an issue with just 8gigs of ram. However I do need a large hard drive so I went for the larger hard drive and since the 512 version has faster SSD I went with that. I hate carrying around extra hard drives. I love the fact that you can get the old hardware so much cheaper when Apple releases new products. The M chips are so good that the difference is negligible from one generation to the other,, at least for me who isn’t a developer or a content creator or something like that - just a normal computer guy 😂
@@johnadams6390 Sorry Bro: But with the tasks you described „researching and writing“ choosing a 1399 m3 Pro instead of a 699 m1 air ist the definition of wasting money… lol
Hello. Which one will be better? Basic configuration of M3 Air or M2 witch 10GPU, 16GBRAM and 512GBSSD? No foto and video editing. Only normal use. I want to spend my money well.
Something reviewers aren’t pointing out when comparing these two is that the M3 will get an extra year of software updates over buying the M2. That alone is worth the extra cost (assuming you plan to keep it that long).
That's if you were to buy the M2 Air brand new from Apple (for $100 less), which would be silly. If you can get something from Apple's official refurbished lineup (for considerably less) then the calculation changes IMO.
omg I'm sooooo sick of people using benchmarks like cinebench or other rendering/video processing marks to talk about these laptops. First off, the throttling barely affects their performance. The m3 is still faster than the m2 even though it throttles more. And guess what? Most people wouldn't actually give af about this anyway if people didn't make it seem like it was such a huge issue. The MacBook Air is meant to be a sleek, light, elegant, long lasting, utilitarian, and COMFORTABLE machine for people who want something modern and beautiful without breaking the bank
Great video! That's a shame about the midnight color. Seems that the new anodization process had a minimal effect. Still a great color. Have a great week!
Please compare the MacBook Air 15-inch model with M3 and the MacBook M2 Pro 14-inch model with 16 GB of RAM both of them . The difference between the two is $100. Please advise which model I should get
if you can afford it, i would definitely go with the macbook pro tbh. you get more ports (hdmi, sd slot and an extra thunderbolt if i‘m right)and a much better and brighter screen (120hz). however, if 300 grams plus of weight are too much for you, i would opt for the mba as it’s slimmer and lighter
I understand some people find benchmarks boring. But that’s not everyone and trying to pay attention to what your saying with random facts popping up and pings is very annoying
Did you see the heat test and throttling on the M3 MacBook Air? When doing a prolonged intensive task, it gets very warm and the OS throttles it. The M2 is not throttled as much as the M3 for the same tasks. So, for some intense, prolonged tasks, the M3 may not turn out to be vastly superior to the M2 when used in the MacBook Air. Since the MacBook Pro has fans to do with the heat, it doesn't require as much throttling.
I am thinking of making a similar change. I have an M1 Air and love the portability. And I have a 14" M2 MBP Pro 16/512. For travel the Air is my choice, but the difference in performance is noticeable, I am hoping a M3 Air with 512 drive and memory will close that gap for my workload. If it does, I will probably get rid of the 14" MBP.

I'm watching this video while waiting for Amazon's Cyber Monday. I was going to lean towards the M2 16GB but it seems the worse option, especially at the end of 2024
Thanks for all your informative videos and pointing out the real differences, and this is not a criticism, but correct me if I'm wrong, to rectify the slow SSD problem, wouldn't it be better if we upgrade the 256 to the faster 512 gb on the M2 for the same price? I think the extra SSD goes a long way. Or another option is to just upgrade the RAM to 16gb, that would solve the swapping problems entirely. I believe either scenarios (16gb RAM or 512gb SSD with M2) is still a better option than the basic M3 at the similar price. That is if Ray Tracing or gaming is important. But IMO, I'd just save the money and get the basic M2 for work / school, and an iPad / PS5 / Nintendo Switch for games. I don't think the average college student / employee really needs dual monitor setup. I understand "a lot" of people want that feature, but I also think it's just a few % of the entire user base. And for those users who need gaming, graphics improvements or dual monitors? I think they already know what they want and the basic M3 Air probably wouldn't match their needs, and need to upgrade their RAM and SSD, or even to a MacBook Pro anyway. Although It's good that Apple gives us this option finally, the M3 isn't that appealing to the average user.
We just got my wife an M3 13" Air (16/512) on sale and it's very impressive. We have 4 14" Pro models (2 M1 Pros, an M2 Pro and my M3 Pro - traded in my M1 Pro 16" for more portable model) and except when I'm doing multiple music tracks on logic the M3 Air would be great in every other sense rather than my 14 Pro for me. Now that Apple add the 16/512 sku BB and Amazon are often offering that model for $200 off which to me is a good price for what you get as you also get the non-binned M3 chip as well.
Apple offers a 10% Veteran’s discount on their refurbished MacBooks. If you qualify, the refurbished M2 MacBook Air is $764 directly from Apple with the discount.
Those those with an M2 Air with 16/512GB setup, they really don't need to upgrade. Only benefits are less smudges, better for gaming, and dual monitors. It's definitely worth upgrading from the M1 Air or Intel CPU MacBook Air versions. - 1080p web camera - Significantly better CPU performance - Significantly better GPU performance - Dual monitor option.
I don't understand all the stuff around 2 monitors. Can't you just hook up or buy a dock for the m2 if you needed it later (from ugreen or stachi etc). What am I missing?
Dynamic caching has nothing at to do with RAM. It is all about how the GPU cores can dynamically relocate how much on die cach is used for registers, tile memory and cache. Sys memory capacity has no impact on this it is all about better GPU utilization in particular for branching GPU tasks were it is different to forecast the registers and local-memory needs pre flight as you don’t know the branching.

I would add the M2 is 1.2kg vs M3 is 1.5kg, for someone looking for a "MAC AIR" you are expecting a lite weight laptop, this edges M2 for me. Potential use of heavier parts in M3 inflation/price cost related?
Good information. My question would then be - M3 vs M1? If the SSD read / write speed of the M2 is worse than the M1, is the M1 (at a significantly lower price-point) a better use value than the M3?
Still like my 15 inch MBA with M2. I found it laughable the 2 monitor solution Apple came up with on the M3 MBA. Not to mention a base model still stuck on 8Gb RAM. But worse an RAM upgrade costs is ridiculous. I am not convinced another Mac is in my future.

I’m an old school Mac user and had no idea you couldn’t use dual monitors natively. I was on PCs for a while and eventually came back and was flabbergasted when i plugged in my m2 just to have the screen mirrored. Very, very interesting. Thank you for pointing out the good and "bad" of the M3 vs. the M2. Does driving dual monitors cause thermal heat slow downs due to operating the laptop closed? Do dual monitors use more RAM???

Awesome video. Most people are comparing the M3 to the M1 when it's pretty ovious which is better there. The real tough decision is in between the M2 and M3
I just got an M2 air with 1tb and 16gb RAM for $900 from ebay. I'm upgrading from an m1 MBA which I owned since 2020. Yes the M3 will be supported longer but I'm hoping the M2 will give me another 3-4 years and then I'll get the M6 or whatever they're on at that point.
My M2 is fine. My world doesn’t move as fast, so a super fast computer would be great, but it’s not necessary in my world. Honestly, the M2 laptop I had is already super fast. And I speak as someone who uses Windows laptop for the last 33 years. M2 is my first MacBook (not my first Apple device), and its already exceeding my expectations.
Thanks for the comparison video of the M2 vs the M3. Considering that I normally don't take my laptop out of home, I move it only from desk to kitchen counter and back after using, and I'm pretty careful with my phone, tablets and laptops, would you recommend still getting additional AppleCare+extended coverage? Or is the included 1 year limited Apple warranty good enough..? Thanks for your time!
If anyone study accounting or finance, you might understand what is depreciation mean. We need to figure out the depreciation and useful life in order to value the MacBook. For example, if a MacBook with 9 Useful life, the MacBook M2 today is $1400, and the MacBook M3 is 1800 today, then getting the M2 is better than the M3 MacBook. However, if next year, M2 is still $1400, and M3 is $1600, both are same value, then people are picking the M3 more is better than the M2. For tech lovers who often replace the MacBook every year, it is recommended buying the latest MacBook because you will replace it next year.
m3 16gb i know it wasn't an option, but just add $200 and get the best. You get native dual monitor support AND the must-have ram capacity. And the laptop will last for 8-10 years because apple has amazing build quality.
I'm still using my 13" Intel Macbook Pro (2017) and looking to finally upgrade this year. What I noticed is that right now, at least where I live, the 14" MBP M1 Pro and 13" Macbook Air M3 are the same price with the same configuration (16GB memory, 512GB SSD). Between the two, which one would you recommend more?
I just moved from the 2017 MacBook pro like yours and I had the same dilemma. I took a 14" M2 pro and a 13" M2 air home to compare them and the 14" is heavier and bulkier than the old 2017 13" pro, which I didn't like because I travel a lot. Then, I compared the screens (everyone said the pro blows away the air) and found them to be almost identical. Then I did some editing and rendering of photos in Lightroom and Photoshop and both were blazing fast. The air is the same thickness as the old 2017 pro and also has the same number of ports (2 thunderbolt) but you also get the magsafe so it frees up both ports. I didn't need the extra ports of the pro. I returned the MacBook pro and kept the air, for the weight savings and the (very small) cost savings.
@@alefeusch Thank you for a detailed reply! After more reading and watching, and considering your experience, I'm leaning more towards getting the Air considering my workflow (I don't really do any heavy photos/videos edits on the daily). Congrats on the new machine!

Air M3 is a powerhouse, just match amount of the ram as you have now on intel. I also had Intel MBP 16" 2019 (fastest upgraded i9-9980HK and 32GB ram). And went with 16GB ram on M1. MBA M3 16/512 will be blazing fast for the next 4-5 years for sure... M1 still is, after 4 years and M3 is 25-50% faster than M1. Also form factor is much better on MBA 13", 16" is painful to use anywhere other than on desk. Also zero noise, Intel 16" is too noisy and hot. But even 15" Air is much lighter if you prefer bigger screen for media. I think in your case ram amount is more important than getting M3 pro. You could go with 24GB ram, but not sure if you need it. Just for comparison, generally speaking, base MBA M3 is 100-150% faster than Intel MBP 16" 2019 (i9-9980HK), using less power, and having much more battery life. Photo processing is 100%+ faster on M3, and GPU is 900% more powerful :-).

Question regarding the dual monitor. if you download betterdisplay (they offer free pro trial), it supports to turn off the build-in display from the software without close the lid. So that the touch id, microphone, and camera can still be used. Could you test if turning off the build in display without closing the lid can light up two external displays? Thanks in advance!
I think this is solid advice. These devices are built to last, and if you're going to spend the next couple of years with this laptop you should probably opt for the M3
Re SSD Swapping: You are talking about sequential write speeds, for swap performance, look at random write/read where there is no significant difference between 256 and 512gb.
I know they want to limit the number of sku’s they have, but I’d love a max effort 15” MacBook Air. I travel full time. I have to carry a windows machine with me, but don’t use the work laptop for anything personal. I moved to the iPad Pro for 90% of my personal computing needs, but recently I’ve been working on some personal engineering projects and could use a laptop for modeling and embedded programming. The price of the MBP isn’t a problem, the weight and portability of the Air is attractive. Carrying 2 full weight laptops is not fun. I guess mainly I’d be looking for the better display of the MBP on the Air. For now, the thermal constraints are what caps performance.
Really depends of your use. My base M2 Air do the job very well even for photo editing (I am a visual artist) but as my workflow will definitely rise I think to upgrade to the next M4 Air (I really love this line up). What most people buying Apple must know is to buy following your need because those machines are really expensive. If you have an IMac as desktop combined to an iPad Pro this MacBook Air is the perfect machine. In the meantime my next machine will definitely be an M4 16gb and 512 SSD.

Butter is life! Pecan Pie is just a great host!
Damn that is expensive, but good job on finding a good deal.
How did you figure out or where did you compare your SSD‘s speed? Im looking into that currently
Damn I literally just did the same thing
bought yesterday a 16/512 m2 for about 80 euros more than the base m3...no way i would choose the m3 over that for this price.
You wasted your money!
@@johnadams6390 Sorry Bro: But with the tasks you described „researching and writing“
choosing a 1399 m3 Pro instead of a 699 m1 air ist the definition of wasting money… lol
you would have been an idiot to take the base M3 over that!
I hate those benchmark review videos as those are useless for regular users. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for reviewing.
Hello. Which one will be better? Basic configuration of M3 Air or M2 witch 10GPU, 16GBRAM and 512GBSSD?
No foto and video editing. Only normal use. I want to spend my money well.
Same question for me..
Any answer yet?
Just got the m3 for $850 at Best Buy! I upgraded from a 2009 MacBook so no complaints here
Something reviewers aren’t pointing out when comparing these two is that the M3 will get an extra year of software updates over buying the M2. That alone is worth the extra cost (assuming you plan to keep it that long).
That's if you were to buy the M2 Air brand new from Apple (for $100 less), which would be silly. If you can get something from Apple's official refurbished lineup (for considerably less) then the calculation changes IMO.
lol, I’m sure that I’ll be big mad when I have to upgrade my M2 MBA in 2030!
No it’s not lol
omg I'm sooooo sick of people using benchmarks like cinebench or other rendering/video processing marks to talk about these laptops.
Is the M3 air a good update from the M1 Air? My base M1 Air takes a long time to launch larger apps.
did you buy? i have the m1 and i am thinking of upgrading to m3 but torn on getting the m2
Great video! That's a shame about the midnight color. Seems that the new anodization process had a minimal effect. Still a great color. Have a great week!
Yeah it's nowhere near as good as the space black anodization process.
Today I decided to buy an Apple refurbished 15 in. M2 air for $1019 instead of the new 15 in. M3 air for $1299. Did I make the right choice?
Please compare the MacBook Air 15-inch model with M3 and the MacBook M2 Pro 14-inch model with 16 GB of RAM both of them . The difference between the two is $100. Please advise which model I should get
Maybe check the teraflops or the benchmarks?
if you can afford it, i would definitely go with the macbook pro tbh. you get more ports (hdmi, sd slot and an extra thunderbolt if i‘m right)and a much better and brighter screen (120hz). however, if 300 grams plus of weight are too much for you, i would opt for the mba as it’s slimmer and lighter
I understand some people find benchmarks boring. But that’s not everyone and trying to pay attention to what your saying with random facts popping up and pings is very annoying
Honestly, when my M1 Air is done, or I'm done with it, It was never gonna be the M2 anyway, for the SSD speeds alone.
Summary: There is no real world difference. Ssd speed is better. Buy if u hav money.
I just ordered a 13" M3 Air 24/1 (silver), trading in my 16" M1 Pro MBP 16/1, for travel.
You consistently give pragmatic and entertaining advice, and broke me of my long habit of unnecessarily over specking Apple purchases, saving me lots of $$. You are very much appreciated! Thank you.
For typical office tasks, would you suggest opting for the M2 with 512GB or the M3 with 256GB?
If only for office task. Even M1 MacBook can kill it.
Theres much more difference than 100$ tbh if you buy from non-apple stores like best buy or other, i just saved like 400$ going m2 16gb vs m3 16gb. M2 was new ofc and from authorised apple reseller.
Agreed. I got my M2 15” MBA from BB last week for $999!
m3 base is better than m2 base because of the ssd read speed!!
Yeah, and if they had bumped it to 12GB RAM, it would be a really nice base machine.
Omg I’m so sick of the SSD speed argument. Even a “slow” SSD is still plenty fast enough for most people.
Im a casual user and just need a consuming machine, with nice battery life, the M1 is very cheap in my country, but I do like the designs of the M2 and M3! Would it be smarter to buy them instead? I watch Netflix, twitch TH-cam and so on, maybe sometimes editing some 4K recorded from my phone from vacation
I have about same usage as you and wondering should i get m2/m3 for my very first macbook. do you mind to share which one you go for in the end?
casual user, too. have had base model M2 for a year and it works flawlessly. best buy now has the M3 on sale for $799 + tax. great price
Best Buy has the 15 inch M2 MacBook Air with 16 GB of ram and 1 TB SSD for $1499. Compared to the 15 inch M3 MacBook Air with the same spec at $1899. What would you recommend for someone who uses their computer for web browsing, email, Netflix and so on but doesn’t upgrade their computer until it’s falling apart? My mid 2014 MacBook Pro hasn’t gotten major updates in a few years but I still used it because it was working fine up until recently.
Save the $400 and go with the M2 version
Greg. I just bought the m2 for the 999. I browse, kinda looking for the iPad experience but want the air, as saves me the purchase of the keyboard. I use it for fun, movies and surfing. Looking to organize my 10,000+ photos. Should I not open it and go back to Apple for the m3 for $100 more? Could you please reply as soon as you can so I can feel more confident in my purchase.
Excellent video Greg! This is exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks!
Those those with an M2 Air with 16/512GB setup, they really don't need to upgrade. Only benefits are less smudges, better for gaming, and dual monitors.
It's definitely worth upgrading from the M1 Air or Intel CPU MacBook Air versions.
- 1080p web camera
- Significantly better CPU performance
- Significantly better GPU performance
- Dual monitor option.
Would it be worth getting the 15 inch m2 MacBook air for $100 less than the m3 13 inch air? Both are base models.
Thanks for keeping this video to the point!
So for people who don’t need fast GPU, i.e. developers, this doesn’t provide any noticeable improvement
@@khanh55677 It has power saving implications (that can be non trivial) so even if your not stressing the GPU a lot it can get what you are asking of it done with less power.
I’ve been using M2 8/512 for 2 years now every day: browsing, video editing, streaming, zooming, gaming… it’s a perfect machine. Perfect. Buy yourself a grey Satechi bag and you’re set for life. Don’t listen to the reviewers, they are full of S.
The M2 SSD slow speed thing only applies to the base model 256gb drive, correct?
Yes only on 256gb…512 gets the more speed
Yes, 512gb is equal on M2 and M3 models.
M3 16gb / 512gb Midnight ordered
M3 overheat and throttle faster than M2
This true?
@@ielfrancisco overheat is confirmed, throttle idk
They usually fix that kind of stuff in updates. Just like on the iPhone.
I have a 16 inch late 2019 i7 MacBook Pro. Should I upgrade to a 15-inch M2 or M3 air? I just do mainly browsing and word docs. Nothing too intensive. But should I just keep the 16 inch or get a newer computer? Thanks for the help
For the 15" Check BestBuy, they have some good discounts going on for the M2 model: howl.me/clOr6w6isL8 I'd probably recommend this model over the M3 for the price.
Bro you don't need to spend that much money for such basics tasks
Just purchased the M2 Air 8Gb flawless condition for 500$ on OfferUp 🎉
really nice video... my usage is mostly watching online content and surfing, download content... pay bills, book tickets.. and less work on microsoft... in this case, would m2 be suffice or still m3 is recommended?
I’m an old school Mac user and had no idea you couldn’t use dual monitors natively. I was on PCs for a while and eventually came back and was flabbergasted when i plugged in my m2 just to have the screen mirrored. I thought i had configured something wrong, it didn’t even occur to me that in 2024 a computer couldn’t do dual monitors. Anyways i exchanged it for an m3.
I went M2 with a bigger drive, mainly due to an Apple EPP discount that was only applicable to the m2
Does the read and write speeds make a difference when using Safari, checking emails and using Microsoft Office?
No it doesn't
Is the tracking function in Davinci Resolve or Final cut a ray tracing task? This is the only task I do on a regular basis that bogs down any of my M chip macs. I'm not sure which of the resource is the bottleneck for tracking, intense color grading with lots of nodes or playback of layered 4K clips.
Would like to see video showing difference between m3 air 15 inch vs m3 pro maybe for 16gb ram
15 has way better benchmark and thermals due to chassis size, both are powerful. 13 seems to thermal throttle earlier than the m2 under extend workloads, 15 m3 will be slightly hotter than m2 by just a bit.
Apple promises "incredible AI performance of the Neural Engine for intelligent macOS features" for the M3 MacBook Air
What does this actually mean and is there really a difference to the M2?
Just marketing babble it's Apple
A year ago I bought base model of MacBook Air with M2 and there is a deal from Best Buy where I can trade in my M2 for $625 and buy M3. After all said and done, I would have to pay about $375. Is it even worth it for a faster storage or waiting for M4 is a better option?
Very, very interesting. Thank you for pointing out the good and "bad" of the M3 vs. the M2. Does driving dual monitors cause thermal heat slow downs due to operating the laptop closed? Do dual monitors use more RAM???
So today i leave Windows and ordered a 15“ MacBook Air M2, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD. I Saved 360€. What i do: Office 365, Internet Surfing and 4 times a month i edit a18 min yt Video with movavi. So i think i did it right.
I have one day left to return my 13” M2. Should I?
If it’s a 8 GB, yes. Get the 16GB M3 😊
It takes a big man to admit he was wrong Greg. Good show.
Awesome video. Most people are comparing the M3 to the M1 when it's pretty ovious which is better there. The real tough decision is in between the M2 and M3
I have no idea what it is with this 2 monitor beef.
Since M1 I use these macs on dock with 2 monitors for consulting work without any issue.
6:45 that is exactly the use case I was thinking of doing: Blender, davinci, photoshop
What do you think of the MacBook Air in Adobe programs such as Photoshop if the RAM is 16?
Yea they put 2 chips on the 256
I just got an M2 air with 1tb and 16gb RAM for $900 from ebay.
Should i get a 16gb/1tb refurbished M2 for 1500 or 16gb/512GB M3 for 1699?
An honest, and great video! Thanks for posting!
m3 8gb or m2 16gb ???? thank u
m3 16gb
i know it wasn't an option, but just add $200 and get the best.
You get native dual monitor support AND the must-have ram capacity.
And the laptop will last for 8-10 years because apple has amazing build quality.
@@Placid_Falconyes, I got it a week ago 😅😂, thank u
Which colour is best midnight or space gray it is confusing me alot 😅
I have an intel 2019 MBP 16”. I use it for adobe CS mostly Photoshop and CSP for all digital art and design and also playing music and watching movies. Wonder if getting 16gb and 512gb on the M3 Air is all I truly need or if I should get M3 MBPro 16”
@@jutjub22 thanks for the detailed information! I’m really looking into the MBA with 16GB ram at least. The 512 of HD is ok as I use external SSDs anyway
@@brandondelgado7731 how much ram do you have now on intel?
@@jutjub22 I have 16GB in it and it sort of works as long as I don’t have 30 tabs open in chrome and safari. Using CSP works ok but sometimes lags when making some lines with the Huion Kamvas and it can get slow if I’m working on multilayered files.
Would spend extra 200 worth it for 15 inch monitor vs 13 inch
Question regarding the dual monitor. if you download betterdisplay (they offer free pro trial), it supports to turn off the build-in display from the software without close the lid. So that the touch id, microphone, and camera can still be used. Could you test if turning off the build in display without closing the lid can light up two external displays? Thanks in advance!
Is that the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance? Dope
I think this is solid advice. These devices are built to last, and if you're going to spend the next couple of years with this laptop you should probably opt for the M3
A couple of the M3 models are said to process memory more slowly. See video "MacBook Pro M3 (14 & 16): You're Being Misled" for more detail.
Hey guys. I have a question. What would you recommend: a MacBook Air m2 with 8gb ram and 512 gb ssd or a MacBook Air M3 with 8gb ram and 256 gb ssd?
Minimum 512GB
Really depends of your use. My base M2 Air do the job very well even for photo editing (I am a visual artist) but as my workflow will definitely rise I think to upgrade to the next M4 Air (I really love this line up). What most people buying Apple must know is to buy following your need because those machines are really expensive. If you have an IMac as desktop combined to an iPad Pro this MacBook Air is the perfect machine. In the meantime my next machine will definitely be an M4 16gb and 512 SSD.
Great advice going to buy my tomorrow 🙌🏽

right now i see the air and the pro, both as the same thing, so i dont quite care, im just afraid of going from 20 to 8 gb be a massive downgrade... i also want anything above 1tb, so maybe not worth the change now? im just looking for a better crafted laptop. my current one is all flimzy , the screen sticks, its plastic, runs hot, no battery... but i dont quite care about those things... i just want pure performace and it not fall appart with two years of use
Tbh any of the current Apple silicon macs would work well for you performance wise. It just depends on the minimum specs you need for multitasking and file storage. Also keep in mind for graphic intensive tasks you’ll need more RAM as well
