100% this, thank you! I have a 1976 450SL and it had hot start issues forever finally an old Mercedes’ mechanic told me to replace the fuel accumulator after the mechanic swore up and down it wasn’t that. It was. My hot start issues have mostly gone away but need to check the o-ring too thanks to this video!
you can easily test the accumulator. just pull of the low pressure fuel line, block it so the fuel doesnt come out and hit the ignition a few times. If fuel runs out of the back site its broken, if it stayd dry the accumulator is fine
I think I may have had this problem on my 1986 W124 300E… after 28 years that or a similar issue and a failed reverse gear on the transmission led me to my current W211 E350.

Hi. My car, w124 E200 m111 1996 has this problem. I changed coil packs, plug wires an plugs. Since then, my car starts easy, but idles like on 3 cylinders. Until the engine reaches about 75deg, then I idles and runs smooth. What could cause this?
Heyy Pierre :) As an ex 500e owner,i can say that Mb w124036 e500e LH cars ,does not have fuel pressure accumulators ,,i do not think any of the LH cars has em. K and KE jet cars does have them for sure . Greetings from Norway,Stefan :)
I have a question, I'm experiencing hard first starts whenever the car has not been used for a few days. I purchased a fuel accumulator only to find out I don't have one. is this correct for a 92 400E 4.2? thanks in advance for any advice you share.
In a previous video you mentioned that the compact fuel accumulator on say, a W126 could cause cold start issues as well (Fuel Pressure accumulator, what do you do, time 3:35). When cold starting my car I see a slight hesitation for a couple seconds before the engine turns over (I just have to hold the key longer for it to start). Hot starting cranks up no problem without hesitation. Does this sound fuel pressure related to you, or should I just go and test everything (electrical too)?
I had that exact problem with the compact accumulator. Hot start I never had an issue. This makes sense, because an accumulator's job is to maintain fuel pressure in the lines so you get a quick start up. If it leaks by, the fuel lines will lose pressure, and the fuel pump has to repressurize the lines every time the car's been sitting.
dear good brother, my w124 petrol, engine cool one crank it will start, but when i stop the car after 30 minute try to start crank about 3 or 4 time than the car will start, can you tell me the problem ? please help
Pierre, I am corn fused. I have a 92 500sl 129.066 I have the small accumulator you said in one of your other videos that if it fails...the small one.. you will have a COLD start problem...which I do. is it hot or cold. also, I was told there is a simple test take of the air clean , run the car for a minute or two shut it off and depress the air deflector and if there is no resistance that is indicative of a bad accumulator is that correct? Thanks

Thank you Pierre.! Does the pressure regulator do something similar on an M130E engine (W108 280SE)? What is the task of that pressure regulator? I would appreciate if you could advise me on the latter. Cheers from Hungary!

This flattening fuel pressure pulsation made from pump This can not drain the air from the system Small pipe put on for purpose if membrane fail not to spil fuel
A mechanic friend equated the accumulater to a "shock absorber" in the fuel system.
Another excellent video. I needed this information three years ago. But happy it’s now on YT. I had this issue on my W123 230E 1983.
To own and/or service classic Mercedes automobiles is to be a true man of supreme class and power!
Excellent information 👌
As usual informative information and better than even the manufactueres know!
Thanks Pierre I'm looking at a 84 380 SL and if I get it this will come in handy.
My 380sl is currently doing that boop boop boop. Thank you for the great information

Nice. I've a '78 450.
Thank you Pierre. Great info as always!
Very helpful video, tank you so much

this was very informative, even though i have a vw cabriolet
Nice information. 👍
Is it likely for an accumulator to get clogged? Or will it always pass thru fuel when the pump runs?

I Pierre I have an 1989 Mercedes W124 230E with hot start issues does it have the fuel accumlator? Regards Tom
Pierre, when’s that classics video of that beautiful w116 going to be uploaded?
Waiting for it anxiously too 😩

Pierre I replaced the fuel accumulator on my 1989 300ce and I still have hot start problems but not cold start, what do I do next???
Your haircut looks great - you look younger and thinner!

@@mercedesclassicswithpierre1753 Thanks he really did answer the question w/o me having to pay 10 bucks.
What about a cold start also how many minutes or tempature would you consider a car at a cold start state
Would a failed accumulator cause loss of power on the m103 KE system?
