    Gotta give this guy credit. I tired this recipe and this was spot on. Tastes just like Chinese take out wings. Make sure you marinate overnight. I was curious, so I fired two after marinating for an hour..they were certainly delicious but the flavors pack in better the longer it marinates.

    I love this style of fried chickken, because sometimes you don't want that traditionally western style fried chicken whereby the batter may be thicker, and that sometimes hinders the flavour of the chicken meat. This is a good balance between proteins and batter thickness

    Been searching for a recipe like this. I love the fried wings and plain fried rice at the Chinese restaurant. I always get that and the crab rangoon (ones that aren't too sweet, hate the sweet ones) but I can't find recipes for these that are exactly like the Chinese restaurant. Do you think you can do the yellow fried rice too?

    Can the vinegar be substituted with another type of cooking wine

    • @chsulie
      @chsulie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For Chinese cooking it is essential to have the Shaoxing Cooking wine. But if you don't have it, I would recommend you to replace it with a Marsala or even Sake would be fine.

      @@chsulie Well, not good news exactly. I apparently had the oil a bit too hot and over cooked them. They looked too dark after the first fry and were about 145* F inside on biggest piece. This is not the first time I’ve had trouble shallow frying. I even had a thermometer in the oil so I was only about 20* high at times.

    • @chsulie
      @chsulie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bltoth1955 I am so sorry to hear your unsuccessful attempt. I find it quite hard to control the oil temperature when using a stove. Whenever I want to deep fried my chicken wings I always use my deep fryer because it control the oil temperature a lot better. Perhaps when you preheat the oil use a medium heat and let the oil slowly reach up to 350 degrees and play around the control of the flame in order to maintain the temp at 350. This can take a lot of patient and time. It might be better to get a deep fryer instead hahah 🤣 Thanks for letting me know your feedback! I hope you will try again!
