For those viewers complaining about the video because their whole keyboard doesn't work, then simply plug in a USB keboard and try that. Chreaoer than taking it to a workshop to get fixed. Thank you!

I had the letter M and the number 9 that did not work on the keyboard, and the problem was solved through the settings. If the problem directs one of you, let him go 1-Settings 2- Accessibility 3- Cursor control Alternative controls Turn off mouse keys, alternate cursor actions, and head cursor

I have a problem with F, G, H, J, K, L and sometimes D not working. Then they will come back and work but then go out again. It’s been like this on and off for 2 years but seems to have gotten worst. I think I need to replace the keyboard. What’s a good external keyboard to use?
@@iSolutional will that work with the 2012 MacBook Pro model? I’m debating between that or changing out the keyboard. There are some videos online for doing that but I will say it seems cumbersome as there are many things to disconnect and lots of screws to remove.
@@iSolutional I was looking up keyboards and it’s showing one for mine as non backlit. Older ones are showing as backlit such as early 2012. Mine is a mid 2012 model and since the keys light up wouldn’t that mean I need the backlit one?

Option 2 worked for me once for a few minutes, but then never again. the numbers on my keyboard do not work. . It’s weird because if I am on something where it knows I need to enter numbers, for example typing in a phone number to text on iMessage, it lets me use the numbers. But if I am on a website, notes app, or anything else, it doesn’t let me use the numbers. Does anyone know what to do?

Update 2023, MacBook Air 2 M2: I turned off my Bluetooth and the keyboard is working fine, whenever I start to use the apple magic mouse, with the Bluetooth & Magic Mouse on then the keyboard stops, working and the keyboard lights all turn off on the keyboard, like if the keyboard lost power. I don’t know if it’s related to Bluetooth or to the magic mouse.. I’m not sure if it’s related to the magic mouse because as soon as I start using the magic mouse within minutes, the keyboard will stop working
My keyboard worked after I reset the smc, it stopped working again so i was able to use the resetting smc tip about 4 times but now that isn’t working. When I reset the SMC previously it also fixed the trackpad as well and now both my keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I had the same issue, i was not able to write down my password, so I got locked. Actually there is one function in macbook that get on, you have to turn off that, that's all Just turn off (Mouse keys). Or simply press (option key five times) mouse keys turns off. Simple,.. thank you😊

Yeah, when the traces of your keyboard are bad, update the OS and delete the plist file. That ought to fix it, right?

I've got a MacBook Pro 13 inch mid 2012 model. Only the 1 to 9 number keys don't work. 0 works and all other keys work.
