this thing was my first rc car, 6 years ago this christmas. It’s what got me into RC and i now have a big collection. I specifically searched for a video on this just to pay tribute to it. I will forever have mine no matter what happens to it.
Started into radio control with the brushless version. This truck will get you hooked that’s for sure. Now everything I have is no less than 4s capable. Needless to say it progressed quickly 😛
Love RedCat.... I own both versions of the Volcano. Any many variants. 😎👍 It's a great starter if your just getting into the hobby, or small area basher. It's good on the street and an animal off road with a solid dog bone at each corner.. If you get a brushless Volcano flying by with fully ballooned tires...it is... Respecfully Intimidating. Fully adjustable shocks and camber links for fine tuning, and the wheels are 12mm hex...so pretty much everything fits. ....😤...hmmm..after proof reading this...lol..I wish I worked for RedCat. I'd love to build a legit "By the Rules" RedCat No Prep Drag. I know they have the parts. 🙃 ...a guy can dream lol.. RedCat Rules!!!
I have one of these and well MORE POWER AKA 1/8TH SCALE MOTOR 1700KV 120A ESC WITH A METAL SPUR GEAR 50 TOOHT 3S LIPO 5200MHA GAME OVER SHE MOVES QUICKLY NOW the chassis is strong ABS plastic not bad at all OVERALL A AWESOME 4X4 RC NICE REDCAT :)
i got this a week ago an it ALREADY BROKE i wasnt hitting jumps my son crashed into a car tire he wasnt going fast at all the frint bumper is ruined the front axle is broke and the body
bodies are weak and cheesy, buy some gorilla tape and patch em up they will last longer. I have 2 EPX pros. one with near full aluminum upgrades including chassis and I can tell you I ran a gnss verified 37mph on the street. Even acquired an aluminum wheelie bar and well Ive gottem pretty good with it but you must be a mechanic to own one because every time you go out and drive it hard ( not bash just hard) you will be replacing stub hubs, regluing tires, patching the body, and in extreme cases replacing bent hinge pins, reattaching loose drive cups, and a couple times a year replacing the wheel bearings as it eats them. Do not run in sand as it will detroy bearings in one outing. One big gripe is the motor and cogging bad. you dont have any power until its moving about 5 mph then she will tear it up. needs a better motor and esc combo to relieve the cogging issue.
