What a privilege being able to hear from the designers and construction team themselves, and through Stephanie’s artistic sensibility. To hear the uplifting Bridgerton garden is going to a hospital is so special too.
Yes I agree, Stephanie is so truly interested and engaging that it elicits genuine connections with people who feel seen and heard. It’s a rare talent. And yes, Philip beautiful filming and well edited including the choice of music. Loved the video. I too love the thought of the Bridgerton garden supporting cancer and maternity patients into the future. I hope patients are given the opportunity to reflect and perhaps share their thoughts by dropping notes into the hidden storage spot for possible publication through the years.
@@jennifercampbell7698so well put Jennifer! I agree, Stephanie and Philip are a wonderful team, as are these garden designers. It was moving to learn how this garden is going on to touch the lives of so many who will appreciate it at the hospital. What a lovely vlog!
I could be wrong about a lot of things but I really believe that Stephanie should be involved with the French government in some form of diplomacy! She has such a huge impact on the way she interacts with others, high intelligence & retention, conveying opinion & ideas, heart felt concerns about people, animals, buildings history, conservation I could go on & on but in short, she is not utilizing her abilities for the best outcome. I would miss what she does now but she is just "Too good to be real" kinda sounds like I might have a thing for her, I do & that would be Admiration! Sorry, this is JMO, but...😊❤ Also I do realize that She edits what we see & it could be biased, but I also see how the people she interacts with react to her, everywhere, even when they aren't speaking the same language! ❤
She is a very special Lady indeed ...all the things you said & more!! She is already a kind of "Special Cultural Ambassador" between France & England ... & Europe in general. Not sure who would give her the official title or position, but if there was one Stephanie has the credentials for it in spades!!!
You are the best interviewer, Steph! Beautifully filmed, Philip. This was a delight. So thrilled that the Bridgeton garden will live on, and be enjoyed by so many people. I’ll be watching this again …..so much beauty to take in. Mega thanks! ❤
Well done to Stephanie, a skilled raconteur and Phillip an exceptional photographer for bringing as this wonder filled glimpse of the Chelsea Flower Show.
I loved the Bridgerton garden both for its attractiveness and knowing that it will be taken to a hospital to be enjoyed there. Thank you for taking us along.
Thank you for that. You have made my day. I was absolutely shocked and heartbroken when I heard about the sycamore at Hadrian's wall. So pointless. To hear that glimmer of hope was heartwarming. ❤ Love to you all. 🌳xx
Thank you Steph for your take on the Show Gardens. I really enjoyed your 'interviews' with the designers - they really open up with you in the relaxed , less time bound pieces interactions you filmed... So much more sweet than the visual snapshots, short interviews + hosts commentary we get on the BBC coverage. Yiure making more friends too. I cant wait for the Cornwall gardens
blue irises in every garden. or white. lupins and foxgloves. a lot of queen ann flower or some like it, and many i dont know names. love the close ups. thank you
Bridgerton garden is or could be enclosed enought to keep wildlife away from eating the hostas. The structures are there also that would deter them even more. Of course there are sprays and invisible fences... Or as my daughter suggested one could plant something further away for them... The hostas planted as they are i those hues with the white foxgloves and few others is so beautyful. Of course the gray rather than red brick colors. and autumnal colors. And then on the other side the romantic plantings.
My aunt and uncle loved national trust gardens and stately homes when they didn't have an easy life. ❤ Now they are unwell and don't travel. Travel when you have time and health.
My great uncle helped create the Inverewe gardens on the west coast of Scotland. His brother worked on another famous garden but have forgotten the name. I began gardening when I was 10 in our modest council house and Grandmother said that it must be in my genes. I am more interested in the architecture of the spaces and how they flow than the actual planting but for me it it one of the most selfless occupations as we rarely get to see grow what we plant. In a previous garden I planted 120 trees and shrubs and 55 roses along with many acid loving plants, rhododendrons and azaleas and hostas. It took me 15 years but I never got to see it mature. My last garden I planted many fruit trees and shrubs but didn't get to see them mature either. I now have an internal courtyard with ambition !
...a formal garden anchored in stone, circular forms, and topiaries ...but with a hint of the wild and untamed. Would love to transport that to a corner of my garden!!!
Aside from the wonderful subject matter, it's always a treat to hear from someone who has the privilege of holding a job they're absolutely in love with. Not enough of us get to do what we're truly passionate about, and when you come across it you just have to enjoy that refreshing perspective for a bit.
Thank you so so very much for taking us along, loved every minute of this vlog. Looking forward to you visiting all the beautiful gardens in Cornwall 😉 . Thank you again 💕🇿🇦
I’m so happy you got to see the Bridgerton garden. It’s so beautiful, as all of the others. Thank you for taking us on your journey through absolutely beautiful gardens. They are amazing. It’s also really great to know at least some will be moved to other places permanently. I always wondered about that. ❤
most of the gardens last year, maybe all, were being relocated to new homes. I went last year and I like to talk so many told where the gardens new homes were. also like to but into peoples talks as they sometimes had questions I could answer and only so many in the garden to answer. we are all gardening friends.
I've grown to love gardening over the years. I love seeing my flowers bloom every season. It's taken me 6 years to get it almost exactly how I want. I still have a lot to learn!
Thanks Stephanie,Phillip and Andy. Lovely visit to Chelsea. We had tickets for 2020 but COVID ruined that. It’s so lovely to see it through your eyes and listen to the designers explain their inspirations. Hope to get there one day when we are back to travelling after my stroke. With big thanks from Kerri-Anne and Ken ( the Aussies who donated the gum boots a few years ago). Hope to plan another visit to LaLande in the future.
Oh my goodness..... I am swooning over the Venice garden. That's my dream happy place. A bottle of wine and glowing candles at sunset..... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I was wondering if the moon gate was already there at the Bridgerton Garden? What a magnificent entrance! Pure romantic charm.
The gardens at Chelsea this year are absolutely stunning and each one with a moving story behind it. So wonderful that they are moved to other locations and charities once Chelsea is finished. The world children’s cancer garden won an environmental initiative award as no power tools used in the construction. The clay bricks slot together and were 3d printed. Thank you for an insightful and inspiring tour of RHS Chelsea, its sheer joy and bliss ☺
Love the water saving garden. We try our best not to waste water and use a bowl during the summer to wash the dishes, using eco friendly washing of liquid, then we save that water in a bucket for use in watering our plants or spraying those with green fly as the soap in the water helps get rid of them
I can only imagine what it was like to be there in person. The tour on video is spectacular I like it in the rain. Interviewing the designers and builders made all the difference.
Bonjour Stephanie, I look so forward to your visit to the Chelsea flower show. the exhibits are so beautiful, I can't imagine the countless hours and design it takes to create these beautiful gardens. Each one tells its own story. I have never seen Bridgerton, the garden they built to represent was amazing and so beautiful. Thank you so much again, for bringing us along another year. Love from N.Y.
I particularly like hearing about what will happen to the gardens after the show. I used to think these kinds of shows would just dismantle everything in the end, which just seems wasteful. But last year you showed a garden that was going to live on in an inner city school and this year in a hospital. That‘s really lovely to know! And the designs are beautiful of course.
Oh I’ve Lived on Smith Street in Chelsea Which was one of the main Entrance to The Flower Show, It Was an Amazing Place to Live , and On End Day the Designers Sold Off all there Plants , It’s Amazing Then to Live In Chelsea 👌👍👍🥰

So wonderful to talk to the people that design, create and build these fantastic gardens, I saw some of gardens world and RHS shows and they are so generic and not detailed. I love knowing the back story and the small details that they have created that the other shows have just dismissed.
Thank you so much for taking us along Steph!! I feel like I'm on some magic ride in these gardes. The Bridgerton garden with that beautiful message was my absolute favorite. Next year I'll hopefully listen to your interviews while wandering the gardens in situ :)

Perhaps in a wide clearing in the woods ...I think some of the plants would need direct sun for at least four to six hours per day. Stephanie's walled garden could be given a circular -arched entrance like this one ...or perhaps open a new entrance on the stone wall perimeter with access from both the arched opening and from within the garden ...a small sunken garden within a garden ...with two circular-arched openings & walled on two of the opposite sides.
What a fantastic video Thank you Stephanie for showing us around the Chelsea Flower Show and all the beautiful gardens constructed and the stories involved in their creation. I have been to the show some years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it all. Well done ❤️🤗🤩
Thank you, Stephanie and fellow Lalanders, for bringing joy with such videos. I'm just going to do some planting in my garden and the little forest I have as a part of my property, and now I’m so inspired. 💯🥰 Thank you. Love from Prague 👠

Thank you so much Stephanie for taking us along with you through some of the most stunning gardens and planting. How wonderful to see an old friend, Andy Jasper continuing his amazing work and to hear the stories behind many of the beautiful and inspirational gardens. ❤

The construction bit was my favorite part. So interesting. Wow cheers to the hard working teams!😮 From mud pit to those gardens in 2 weeks is amazing 🤯❤
Thank you so much for taking us round the gardens, it was an absolute joy. You have your own beautiful garden with so many different areas. I am so happy being able to follow this.
I love the National Trust for its vision and protection of beauty and space. You don’t need to be a paying member either as much of Britain’s coastline is under their guardianship and open to walk. NT Sissinghurst is rightfully famous for its gardens but attracts coaches of visitors so can get very busy. Also not many benches if you are with someone who needs frequent rests. NT Polesden Lacey is a good one as you can also see the fabulous house as well as a variety of gardens and woodland. Good all year round.
An absolutely stunning display of flowers, thank you so much for sharing this! I had a beautiful backyard full of flowers and different colours of foliage and I lost it all when I got a new dog who loved to just go rampaging through it all. I saved what I could and transplanted it but it’s never been the same. This makes me miss it very much!
I am truly stunned by this. Vision. You have created an extraordinary view of such a world renown event. Thank you so much for this personal and unique experience. PS love the jacket and skirt. Fate could not have made a better move. Philip should keep his jacket 😚
Thank you both so much for filming in the rain and Andy for arranging this. Steph, your indefatigable spirit shines through each interview and I am in awe of your ability to retain so much knowledge. Philip you truly captured the gardens even throughout the rain and cold and it's a joy to see that Davy has created such a special gardens' at Lalande in such a short amount of time that become more beautiful each year.
I desperately hope to travel to Europe one day. I added Glendurgan to the list of must see places. If you do go to the south of England you may also want to visit another must see place, the Minack Theater in Penzance. It's an amazing spot I discovered while taking a virtual walk on street view one day. Rowena Cade built it herself and she's an amazing character as well. I love all your work. I may never get to Europe but if I don't at least I see amazing things through your eyes. Thank you.
So so magical and beautiful.... Yes, you have to take us around all the beautiful gardens in England.. With your beautiful storytelling it can only be a succes.. Thank you Stephanie for sharing :)
Wouldn't that be wonderful if the National Trust hired her to do so? Some sort of collaboration, where they would publish first ... then allow her to publish a year later.
This was so magnificent to see. I almost felt like I was there. The one thing I just wanted to point out was that the banners at the and flashed so quickly I couldn’t even read them. I couldn’t even even get to the pause button in time. Nevertheless, this was absolutely a treat to experience. Thank you.
Lovely. Thank you for starting with the Octavia Hill garden. I didn't know her story, even though I am a Trust member and have enjoyed many of their outdoor spaces. ❤😊
Thank you so much for sharing the Chelsea Garden Show with us! How lucky we are to have this opportunity! And I do believe that was a fellow New Zealander who created the Bridgerton Garden! 😃 🌴🌺🌱🌹🌾🦠🌸🌳🌷🌲 Love, J from NZ
Watched on my phone but will watch a second time on large screen TV to feel more immersed in the beauty of the gardens. Thank you Stephanie and Philip.🙏❤️💐
Yes! She does!! Stephanie allows people to finish their thought patterns without interruption, and allows the conversation to be punctuated by interesting highlights that encourage the speaker to go into more depth ...she enhances what they are conveying without trying to outshine them. The art of conversation is in her bones!!
So beautiful. So pleased that the sycamore gap tree is being re birthed. The interviews and video of the gardens was such a pleasure. Just lovely. Thank you.
The Show is definitely "the" place to visit but I almost suffocated there once, because of the crowd, the noise etc. Nowadays I would rather watch it on my computer screen :-) Thank you for the video!
Absolutely stunning gardens. It was awesome to hear from the creators. Thank you for braving the rain and cold to bring us all such beauty and wonderful causes they support.❤

Thank you so much for sharing the Chelsea Garden Show with us! How lucky we are to have this opportunity!
And I do believe that was a fellow New Zealander who created the Bridgerton Garden! 😃

So lovely, hopefully i can come and see one of their shows someday
That was marvellous, thank you Stephanie ❤😊🇦🇺. You have the ability to bring out the best in the people you interview!
Yes! She does!!
Stephanie allows people to finish their thought patterns without interruption, and allows the conversation to be punctuated by interesting highlights that encourage the speaker to go into more depth ...she enhances what they are conveying without trying to outshine them. The art of conversation is in her bones!!
Super good to see these Stephanie - thanks for the tour! Gosh that rain!

Thank you for the tour of the Chelsea gardens. Love them all
The Show is definitely "the" place to visit but I almost suffocated there once, because of the crowd, the noise etc. Nowadays I would rather watch it on my computer screen :-) Thank you for the video!
Absolutely stunning gardens. It was awesome to hear from the creators. Thank you for braving the rain and cold to bring us all such beauty and wonderful causes they support.❤
