You should also hook up a multiplexer to a real time analyzer to see the differences in the reproduced sound in the room.
Where's the follow up to this?? I've seen Gene's "measurement" video and I"ve seen your interview. I replaced an amalgamation of generic XLR and RCA with all Water with the DBS I got 50%-60% off as open boxes and I've got to be honest, it made a remarkable difference in my system. I mean, like night and day.

Shane, if I were Gene I'd also really like you to prove me wrong because science is about development. If it's about legacy, Einstein would've kept his discoveries to himself to avoid conflict with Newton's theories. Nobody who believes in science would prohibit you from objectively disproving him/her, because it's not about them but for the greater good.

Hey Shane stand your ground. I’m subscribed to both of you and have watched you guys for a while. I am in your camp about listening differences and not easily explained away by the placebo effect. I believe in science but also believe my “lying” ears too. Not saying that expensive cables or batteries are hands down better, however saying what you are hearing or I am hearing is audible.
See Gene is splitting hairs about u being able to identify 90% of the time etc. so if you can only do it 8 out of 10, he wins. Doesn’t mean there isn’t a difference. I don’t care about 90%, I care about the time when I’m listening.
I have Vandersteens and Aesthetix Monoblocks. Like Kimber and Audioquest. Didn’t like a networked cable like Transparent for my specific tastes.
Lastly if science only existed, then miracles would never exist.

I don't believe for a second that Gene believes himself even for a second about his naysay about cables. No one is that tone deaf. But hey he has lots of subbers.
Gene will prove you very wrong in a blind test. I did one for buddies dad who had $20k cables and I switched back and forth for him to tell me which one was better amd he said he knew each time.amd the dummy thing was is that I hooked up Oxygen free 14 gauge speaker wire from Amazon and I never switched them once and every time he said easy it's that one about 10 times. We was blown away and really thought he could hear differences ams it was the same cable and same music clip.
So sad I missed this live last night.

I need to see this test! The Audio Quest cable may sound better, but it won't sound proportionally the same multiple times better as the increase in price. And that's the problem. If you're paying 5Gs just for that extra bit of detail, you might as well pay 1G extra on the cost of replacing your preamp/amp or receiver, the actual equipment that is processing the sound.
The sound difference is exceptional. You get what you pay for in a sense. Premium cables does matter. I agree with you about spending thousands of dollars on a particular brand of cables. The SVS soundpath ultra interconnects sound quality is just as good as audio quest cables for far less money.
Immediate goes to TH-cam, types "15kHZ sound wave". I must know if I'm a protégé, do I have the gene? Yes!!!

The guy who cant hear will say theres no difference, and the guy who can hear well, will say there is a difference....both will be right, both will claim victory.

You can hear a difference in sound by switching cables. If you're into Hi-Res music and you own a digital audio player. Switching cables to use with your in ear monitors really does make a difference in sound quality. I was using 12, gauge 99% ofc copper cables with my ultra towers and the sound was decent. However, I switched the cables out and replaced them with the SVS ultra speaker interconnects and the sound totally changed.
The speakers are more clearer and detailed, and the bass from the ultra towers sound more full bodied, controlled and punchier. The bass is more stronger and tight. The SVS soundpath ultra cables is the reason for the improved sound. I was using some monoprice rca cables with my SB 3000's. The speakers sounded good but when the bass was in high demand during playback it felt like the bass was bottoming out and I knew that couldn't have been the case. So I switched the monoprice cables out for the SVS ultra soundpath rca cables and the sound quality of the bass from all four SB 3000'S are significant. The bass is clearer, punchier and more controlled.
Try it yourself. Use a copper clad subwoofer cable vs an ofc copper subwoofer cable and I bet you will hear a difference in quality. Then swap the ofc cable wire for a SVS soundpath ultra cable rca cable and you will hear another improvement.
lots of folks blasting 10 to 16KH from there phones are listing to lower harmonic distortion octaves down. I hate the snake oil interface poop as well!
Even if you could hear the difference it's not worth the money.

Shane, you are going to embarrass yourself. If he does a double blind test on you live, you 100% WILL make a fool out of yourself. I have done countless tests on myself and other people with cables of every price range. The only speaker cables that will make an actual difference are ones with Zoebel networks in them like MIT, Transparent, etc. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. ;)

I don't think people should laugh in his face if he is wrong. I mean so far he is the only person in the world to take on this challenge at this level. I don't think Shane has a chance, but I applaud him for having the courage to do this. Gene and Shane are both great guys, so if she can't prove himself, I don't think he has intentionally lied, but fell victim of visual bias. This will definitively prove whether cables make a difference in terms of similarly measured cables. This will be very interesting and either way there will be an embarrassed person. Good on both of them for putting themselves on the line as 99.9999% of the golden ears are all talk where Shanes reputation will be on the line.
When you have to argue over whether there is even a difference or not, then chances are it's not worth wasting money on it.
A good ear is one thing. A trained ear is another thing. Both are ideal. I truly am blessed with both. Gifted with one, and the other developed. I have over 20 years in audio engineering. I'm interested in video/picture but I LOVE AUDIO. I love ya too Shane, but cables (mid/high priced to obscenely high priced) make absolutely no discernable difference at all. Sorry bro, but Gene/Audioholics is absolutely correct.

Most cables will not make a difference and I’ve been installing systems for years…
You're correct, Most cables will transfer a signal to your speakers. However, premium made cables does transfer a different sound in tone. Like for instance, silver strand cables sound different than 99% ofc copper cables.
@@taseti4803 the resistance for speaker wire shorter then 100' and or speakers that require less then 200 watts do not benefit from "Expensive wire" they only benefit from wires of a thicker Gage. the wire does not and will never effect the "tone" of a speaker.. the energy that passes through a line is not effected by witch material is uses so long as the Resistance of the line can Support the Current being pushed threw said line. please go sell your bridge to someone that will believe in your bullshit.
That’s funny, great video. Spending that much money for a speaker cable make no sense unless money means nothing to you. Get a good 12 gage wire and some banana plugs and you will be good to go.

The arguing of the right guy tells already that he hasn’t understand how Hi-Fi beyond average works. He isn’t open minded. Of course no one can here hear high frequency noise directly, but you can hear the negative impact on your system😉

Cables makes a big difference and me and my friend don't have any problem to tell different cables from each other.
You will them question your sanity when proven wrong. A blind test you will never tell the difference amd scientific measurements have proven this time over time.

I Respectfully agree with Gene and disagree with you Shane, you will NOT here a difference between a $10 and a $1000 Audioquest or insert any other overpriced hi-fi brand speaker cable. It's simple science and physics, Gene has the Equipment to prove it and based off what I learned in my audio engineering program I attended there is no difference between a good solid OFC 12g speaker cable and a $1000 + speaker cable.

Gene uses $1000 Kimber cables but swears there is no difference, you can make the $10 Monoprice look pretty, but he so invested in his measurements that he will never admit why he truthfully chose the Kimber! I lost all respect for Gene, if he truly believes cables do not make a difference, then he should be using the $10 zip cord.

That's BS. He has often expressed why he uses Kimber. Plus he shows the measurements on the Kimber vs others. He shows the minimal differences.

He was given the Kimber cables for testing and told to keep them. He uses them because they look better amd he likes the connectors, that's why. He has stated many times that they are no better than cheap cables at runs of 30' or less
