This is by far the best video demonstarting the installation process. A huge thumbs up for explaining in detail the electrical box hook up. Man! This was awesome. It will helpme greatly.

I'm picking up my 2019 WRX next week and I just got a dual channel dash cam for it. This video is super helpful and gives me confidence that I can do it. Thank you so much!
Edit: You also didn't cut corners on safety and emphasized how important it is to not interfere with airbags and seatbelts - perfect score.

Thanks for the detailed and meticulous video. Very helpful. Two things that would be helpful to discuss in an initial vid, are the pros & cons of direct wiring, including the risk of draining your battery. And, secondly, the cost/benefit of buying a 2 cam system with a “park” mode vs. a direct wire. I appreciate your demonstrating the removal of trim panels, zip tying cables, using foam insulation and routing the rear cam cable around the headliner perimeter vs. attempting to go through the center of the headliner. Very well done. I learned a lot. 👍

Im not gonna hard wire it becuase I don't like wiring stuff, just gonna plug it into my 12 Vold socket and that should be good for my needs. Great install video.
Be aware that the black box on the DC-200 mini-USB direct install harness will not activate and power through the harness (to the dash cam) unless minimum voltage of 11.6 volts is detected by the black box. The standard cigarette lighter power harness does not have this voltage sensing so it will operate e.g. at 11.4 volts, whereas the DC-200 Smart harness will not operate.
If you hardwire using this DC-200 cable it and static test during installation and your Rexing dash cam does not power up THIS DOES NOT mean that the harness is defective. Once you start your car, the alternator should supply sufficient voltage to power the dash cam.
Don't make this mistake in assuming the cable does not work....like....uhm....someone I read about on the innernut. Test the DC-200 Smart cable installation after ensuring your battery is at least 11.5vdc or higher, or, start the car. Once verified that everything is functioning, you can button up your wiring install and reattach all cabin panels, zip tie excess wiring, etc.
p.s. I didnt like the limitation of the Rexing adhesive mount so I revised it in this fashion: I grafted a 17mm Garmin GPS ball female socket onto the Rexing adhesive mount. That now mates to a male ball elbow attached to a RAM suction mount. The footprint is larger than the stock Rexing adhesive plate but the tradeoff is that I can now pivot the front dash cam about 45º L/R and about 20º up/down. This is particularly useful when I'm backing up. I can switch to dedicated rear view and pivot the display for easier viewing (vs straight ahead per Rexing mount)

Just FYI the air bag will eat right through that skinny wire, but it's not a bad practice to stay out of it's way, and in the back where you went under the air bag is actually where the gas is and that doesn't deploy, again just FYI, great video I will be installing mine in a wrx so thanks for all the footwork👍🙋‍♂️, also try not to coil all of your access wire in one place it can create some magnetic field like a coil and interfere with electronics

I thought this was the wiring that allows you to use the camera normally when the vehicle is running and then have it automatically switch to parking mode when the ignition is turned off, where it gets power now from an always-on source. I guess this is just the kit that allows you to hard-wire it instead of plugging into your 12V "cigarette" port.
