While I agree the government needs efficiency it can't be through absolutely ignorant way this individual is applying the logic. The fact that the military can't help with local law enforcement absolutely does make sense. While I understand what he's getting at from an operational context, the fact that he doesn't understand why that particular little law exists out of all the other ones that are inefficient and useless is a bit scary.
Yes this. These guys dont know the first thing about government and the philosophy behind it. Half the stuff is inefficient and bureaucratic because it allows for transparency of government. A single person having the power to decide on anything is sure way to make corruption possible, whether this is someone unelected doing "doge" or a president actively involved in the justice process. Shame Lex got caught up in this bubble of non sense and bravado.
People really don't understand how dangerous it is to update crucial IT infrastructure. They just think old==bad. Nah, old==reliable. They think they're talking about cars or something.
This guy is a little bit full of shit. I work for massive companies all the time and while companies used to be the bastion of efficiency over governments... I'm not convinced that that is the case anymore some companies work as badly as governments with all their compliance and security issues. There's nothing efficient about driving into work every day for jobs that could be done perfectly remote, and there's nothing efficient about having to enter a password or security code 45 times a day just so I can get to my computer.
@javiazar according to what? "Fidelity, the financial services company that helped Musk acquire X, estimates that X is worth $9.4 billion, which is 78.7% less than the original purchase price. Fidelity's investment in X was $19.66 million, but they now estimate it's worth $4.2 million. "
The value of Twitter, now known as X, has declined since Elon Musk purchased it in 2022: Brand value In 2022, Brand Finance valued Twitter at $5.7 billion. By 2023, the value dropped to nearly $3.9 billion, and by 2024, it had fallen to $673.3 million. Valuation by Fidelity Fidelity, a mutual fund giant that owns a stake in X Holdings, has consistently valued its stake 70 percent below the purchase price. Axios reported that Fidelity marked down the value of its shares by 71.5% since Musk's purchase. Valuation by TheStreet TheStreet reports that X's valuation has plummeted to $19 billion, down significantly from the $44 billion Musk paid. Other factors that have contributed to Twitter's decline include: A significant decline in ad revenue, dropping from over $1 billion per quarter in 2022 to approximately $600 million in 2023 Advertisers pulling out of the platform Internal strife between the staff
Government spending is between 20% and 40% of all domestic spending depending on how you count. 😮 All of this needs to be taxed or printed to pay for. The plurality of these jobs DO NOT create new goods or services.
I like how saagger says something makes no sense…but has done zero looking into why it may make perfect sense. It’s classic conservative brain to say “I have no knowledge about an issue, and bc I have no knowledge of it no one else can, and therefore I’m right about whatever I decide to blather about it”. Add in if ANYONE tried to then explain it, they accuse them of lecturing and immediately say the opposite is true and any attempt to explain anything is seen as talking down at them. Like freaking children.
Btw none of what he said even comes close to the promised amount of $2 trillion dollars in cuts. Compared to the US budget, we're talking about saving pennies with these types of cuts. So he's basically supporting removing some important guardrails with barely any budgetary benefit.
5:46 so, historically -- unfortunately -- absolute shitstorm disaster war is the only thing that moves/throws the paperwork off the table. If only we could be as riled up and motivated for creative/societal revolutions. Sigh.
I think the problem with federal vs local policing, etc. has to do with federalism. During Katrina, it took forever for federal troops to come into New Orleans. The governor didn't realize that she(?) had to ask them first. Has to do with the fear on the federal gvt taking over the states (hey, don't shoot me. This is just what I read somewhere.) BTW, back in the 90s I taught a lot of software classes to federal departments. All their systems ran on IBM mainframes!

Yeah, Posse Comitatus is a very important legal principle. It’s not just a silly bureaucratic inefficiency (while many of those do exist)
Lawyers are the problem
Nope! Not Knowing Yeshua is the problem!
@@antonialovesyou4462😂what
The US government is not a business.
elon‘s handling of twitter has lead to a strong decline in revenue. don‘t see how this can be viewed as good example of how to cut
Xai is now valued at more than what Elon paid for twitter
@@javiazar It's a different company.
This is what I've been telling people, but people are too in love with Trump to see the obvious 😆
No the ideologically driven advertising boycott is what caused revenue to decline
Is revenue or efficiency the goal? The government should not be a for-profit organization.
Woah… bro… mainframe is still rock solid for gigantic bulk processes. Newer isn’t always better…
