In hindsight after seeing them four wide and then watching the 2 drive through four different karts before you caught him it probably would have been best to sit behind and pass later. But like I said it's hindsight and in the heat of the moment you had the run and wouldn't expect someone you're next to use the kart to push you wide.

Absolutely. I definitely developed horse's blinds and most certainly could have taken the opportunity to pass later. All I was thinking at that time was that I needed to get past the little crowd that was in front of me as quickly as I could so that I could focus on the lead drivers. After the second time I was spun out though, I didn't even care anymore. I just wanted to finish the race and focused on maintaining what I know about good racecraft.
