People outside China often use BYD as a symbol of Chinese EVs. In fact, Chery export more passenger cars than other Chinese brands. Their cars are usually of general folks' workhorse, instead of flashy toys. However, by the look of this sedan, they are entering into something else. With years of hardwork, they have sort out the art of building good cars.
Subscribed. Such a good video. I love BYD’s blade battery and DM-i technology. Also like more competition. A BYD Seal costs $30 in Australia but it sells for $52k in Europe. I guess we are lucky in Australia that we can save $22k to spend in somewhere else (eg, groceries, eating out, holidays, education, clothing, even paying bills), which again enhances GDP as a whole and creates lots of jobs in many industries in Australia.
When will come the day we stop nicknaming everything as German this or German that. It’s a Chinese well made car which has become the usual unlike lots of western product that almost go into the scam side of things for the price they pretend the consumer to pay
When I sit inside Chinese Cars ,,,, I wonder who many years I had been "rob/Cheated" by the current Japanese Cars with its plastics doors, fabric seats, analog meters, thin steering wheels, substandard tyres, etc.
If I calculated correctly that's over 5 mi/kWh, that's GOOD. I'm happy to see efficiency moving forwards. edit - The above was figured on what Eliot says at 6:40. Figured on the numbers in the graphics at 7:10, it's only 4.2 mi/kWh, more believable and MUCH LESS spectacular.
At the time of filming this was based off their most efficient domestic model. After filming we were told there’s only one international model (for now) with those specs.
Great video Elliot, can't wait for new Cherry and JLR start announced collaboration. And now waiting for Samsung EV 😊❤❤ And yeah it really looks stunning 🤟🤟
Chery Chairman Yin Tongyao has confirmed Indian conglomerate TATA-owned Jaguar Land Rover group (JLR) will use Chery's platforms on certain future vehicles developed by the premium British brand. JLR’s future PHEV and BEV models will sit on Chery's 'M3X' and 'E0X' modular architectures that currently underpin Chery's Exlantix ET, Exlantix ES, Luxeed 7, Luxeed R7, Exeed RX and Chery Tiggo 9, etc.
they should rename it to XLANTIS. Sounds and reads better than EXLANTIX. :) but im sure theres some specialness in the characters of the name, which is good chi.
Cherry has a bad reputation in Australia, as their earlier petrol smaller car filed ANCAP safety tests and only achieved 1 star, and was banned for sale in some states. they have their work cut out for them to reverse that in Australia, I hope they can do it, as more Evs on the road the better.
Lots of nice looking sedans like this one coming out in China. I do wonder about the build quality though. I know they look nice when they're new but how long does it take before bits start falling off?
Proof is in the pudding. Chinese evs have been around here for almost 2 years. They dominate the market. Chery other model the Omoda 5 is very popular, after Byd Atto 3.
The wheels and profile are beautiful, but the front and back end look typical Chinese auto odd. Same thing with the interior. They're definitely getting better, but this styling is still in that uncanny valley of almost but not quite for me.
the design and quality of this is super! if you would have a porche badge this would sell 3X price
Chinese took the interior and exterior design to a whole new level! Amazing! and the button (from the inside) opening the door location is perfect!

And Australia is finally waking up to EVs after being delayed for quite a while - I love the enthusiasm for these cars and technologies when I visit.

The small fan next to the wireless phone charger for keeping your phone cool is a fantastic touch. Cool car for sure
Chery TAKE MY MONEY.
Bold move by Chery and Huawei!

Usually there is a way to adjust the volume for the indicator and warning sounds, you might have it set to max.
Cool car, nice video, great to know what's taking place in China. Well done!

Awesome review Elliot👍

exlantix es(exeed sterra es) uses the e0x electrification platform, which will soon be used in the latest electric cars of Maserati and Alfa Romeo

i love everythin bout this car from outside to interior my favorite type of interior top notch
Wish cars would have a smaller bonnet as it is not really necessary with electric cars.
look out for Luxeed S7 then, it's built on same chassis as this chery, maybe will sell in oversea in different name
Many manufacturers retain the bonnet design, to utilize as a 'soft' zone for the NCAP pedestrian safety requirements.
exeed sterra es is about to launch a rev model. The wide hood needs to accommodate a 1.5t gasoline range-extended engine.
Chery finally got design right.
please do Jidu 07 next
Love those rims
Great video thanks 👍🏻😊

Looks great - too bad its range is just too small. They should have given us a 100 kWh option
There is for the domestic version
Was the leg space while driving as tight as it looked on camera? I like to move my knees about and it looks too tight due to that high centre console.
I didn’t notice it being a problem at the time - so I think it’s ok.
I thought it was called the Exeed Sterra ES? Is this new name for export only?
Yep this is the export brand name
That looks so sleek
Why can't the Japanese do sleek large sedans? Looks super comfy 😊
Good question!
8:00 pleas give me the charging speed in 10-80% time. 150km in 5 min. is impressiv but in CLTC 😢

That was their earlier models. Their current models are 5 ⭐️
who cares aus? Puppys
🍒 on top
The clangy boot didn't sound great. Odd how these small things ring cheaply.
Those wheels though.
👏👏👍👍
NIO + XPENG had a baby = EXLANTIS 😂😂😂
Exterior design mix between Audi & Porsche maybe ? i love would love! to change the operating system to another Linux version if they allow that.
Europe +48% for Chinese made vehicles
european customers will lose out
pronounced E-Lantix?
Chery same as other Chinese manufacturers have brands crisis. Just sell it as CHERY!! we dont want 100 nee brands!
China ancient power
They all look like variations on the lucid air. Undeniably attractive of course
Absolutely not.
I kept thinking “Chevy”… oopppppssd
Lots of nice looking sedans like this one coming out in China. I do wonder about the build quality though. I know they look nice when they're new but how long does it take before bits start falling off?
How will you know without buying

Boycott China
Only Japan makes high quality cars!

Slave labor gives you a lot for your money as these will destroy western auto jobs.
Looks like the Audi Grandsphere concept 😅
Looks like a BYD Seal
it looks like the Interior have been borrowed from NIO
20 years later the camry's still on the road while these ones will be in the scrapyard
Good luck with driving the same car for 20 yrs in this ever evolving world of today
How much did you get from China for saying Kia Ceed instead of Luxeed?
È praticamente una copia della NiO ET7
Thank got no stupid lidar. Chinese cars are just stupid with lidar they don’t help, just add cost
They're all Model S clones
No, more Porsche/Audi. And much nicer interior than the Model S. And better price!
Don’t risk you and your loved one’s life on Chinese car…
The important question is... will it lock in the passengers during an emergency? 🤔
And how quick will it explode?
If you want quick explosion, sell tesla and buy one and sit in. You hypocrite.
Buy a Tesla and replace it with an American made battery and it will explode right when you start the car.
literally looks like Lucid Air lmao
When is China going to stop making up RIDICULOUS words as brand/product names ??? 🫤
For the love of God, just ask a native speaker first !!!
Agreed. This is a proper mouthful!
Native from where?
@@enriquetabernero5118 Whatever language they are trying and failing to use....(usually English)
it's usually goes down to the name being patented by foreign business, it's name in China and many market are Exeed
@@edwardfletcher7790 98% of English words are not originaly English anyway. Name me just one native originally English rooted word if you can, hehe.
