    2 months in and my stuff grows FAST. I was completely clean shaven (in the Marine Corps) and now my beard is almost an inch long at its longest parted my chin and labret is the most thin while everything else besides this area is super thick and it’s very unsettling for me. Thank you for this!

    I have a full beard but it takes forever to grow back fully. I only shave for weddings and job interviews but I really dislike shaving. It makes me lose confidence in myself.

    Phenomenal video yeah I've had my beard for about three and a half years it's down to my sternum but on my cheek line there's some major slow Growers and when I first started growing it there was nothing there it's taken about 3 years for some of the weak spots to pop out so if you have patience it probably will come out

    Do long did it take in your case for the slow growers to catch up with the "fast" growers? Thanks for sharing!

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      luis Ascanio sometimes they will catch up as the fast growers reach the end of their growth cycle, but this can take a long time. I would grow your beard longer than your desired length and then get a trim to even it out. Hope that helps! Thank you so much for watching! 🙏

    This is a mildly confusing idea...
    I understand that not all hair grows at the same time (different stages of the growth cycle). But if you have to wait 10 weeks or longer for the "slow" growing hairs to appear, haven't hundreds or thousands of the original "fast" growing hairs already fallen out anyway? So wouldn't these different growth cycles pretty much cancel each other out? Maybe not?
    Perhaps, theoretically, if you wanted to maximize the fullness/thickness of your beard:
    you would grow it for 2 months
    (1 inch) and then just keep trimming to keep it at 1 inch for another 2 months (to allow the "slow" growers to catch up to the "fast") and then decide if you want to grow a longer beard.
    I recognize that this approach doesn't allow for longer hairs to cover up significant patches that have very little hair, but a 1 inch beard is still fairly substantial.
    What do you think?

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Joshua! Great question. Actually, the growth phase usually lasts about 2 years (on average), for some men this stage is shorter and some much longer. So after 10 weeks they would/should not be falling out and actually have a much longer time for growth.
      To address your other questions, yes, keeping it trimmed at 1 inch to allow the slow growers to catch up would work and your thinking is correct.
      I hope that helps to clear it up, thanks for watching and for the question!

    • @joshuamarks1129
      @joshuamarks1129 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Beard Booze
      Thanks! And to better clarify my thought, I had read that somewhere between 25 and 100 hairs fall off the face everyday due to washing, combing, brushing, stroking, and pulling. So I wondered if the rate of perpetual daily hair shedding over several months would counter the fullness/thickness gains made by the slow growers.
      I wasn't referring to the natural inevitable end of the complete growth cycle, when a foot long hair just "calls it quits" 😊

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That definitely makes more sense!

    • @joshuamarks1129
      @joshuamarks1129 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also have a separate question, are the facial hair growth cycles based solely on time (independent of length)? Basically, is the follicle process underneath the skin the same regardless if you shave daily or have a decade long lumberjack beard?

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct. When shaving your essentially just cutting it while it is actively growing. So it can possibly only grow to an inch and then reach the end of its growth cycle. However this isn’t as common because the active growth phase is so much longer than the dormant and shedding phases.

  • @dylnfstr

    I don't know whether I'm an extremely slow grower or what, because my facial hair hasn't gotten longer in a while. Or if it has, it's been extremely minimal.

    how long have you been growing your beard and what's its length?
    i am almost a year and i think it's not growing any more length, but the hair is thick and very curly..
    you can find two or three curls in a single hair which cuts back length..i am not sure what to do is that healthy?

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mohammad ElShenawy I've been growing mine for about 18 months now with a couple trims. I'm not sure then exact length. It's perfectly normal and healthy to have a curly beard. Check out some of our other videos for more tips curly beards and styling your beard! Thanks so much for watching!

    • @mohammadelshenawy
      @mohammadelshenawy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Beard Booze thanks i will watch them too..however does having a curly beard mean that it will not get any more vertical length

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mohammad ElShenawy actually as your beard continues to grow the hair will get heavier and tend to be straighter on its own.

  • @assman7218

    Thanks for the video. How long do you think a beard can take to fill patchy areas, such as cheeks in my case.

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! It really depends on the beard, but some can take a long time. I’ll see new growth even 6 months into a beard. It also continues to get thicker as you age. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and the question.

    Okay. I've been growing my beard for almost 6 months now. I've got about 2.5/3 inches on my face.
    It's actually looking pretty good.
    But the weirdest thing about it is that I've had these wierd sleeper hairs or peach fuzz hairs right under my lip, next to my soul patch area, for at least that amount of time. And they havent done anything.
    Are they just not terminal yet do you think? It's all blonde so I literally can't tell the difference.
    I'm just curious why they arent growing well like everything else.

      It's similar, but this video isn't about vellus vs. terminal, it's about the growth cycles and how the fact that different hairs in different stages of the growth cycle will "sprout" from the face at different times.

    What if you can’t see pores that the slow growers potentially my come from . Does that mean they are not genetically there or might they still appear? I ask that because my beard grows very light and can still see my cheek . It’s been 1 month and 1 week so far . Someone please advise me I want to shave so bad but I want to get some more feedback before I do so

    • @woogdesigns
      @woogdesigns  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have to ask your age, because it sounds like you may be on the younger side based on what you described. At that age you probably cannot see anything until it breaks the skin's surface. As you get older the hair tends to get thicker and coarser. Hope that helps!
