I thought that escaping wild west jail is easy. You just wait till the sheriff/ deputy falls asleep and then use a broom thats conveniently located near the bars to take the keyring and open the door
No you have it all wrong, that was the Andy Griffith Show! Had to love watching Otis letting himself in and out of jail or watching Barney locking himself in the cell. Ruger Rich
That all came to an end when the broom maker started placing a warning on the broom about leaving them next to the cell bars.
Santee I loved the nod to Hogan's Heroes and the Great Escape. I have always thought that blowing out the wall of any cell or cell block in the Old West would leave you with at least one dead outlaw.
@@kirkmorrison6131 I like the way explosions blow out never in. Fill a hole with C4 and the lock opens, magical.
@@bigblue6917 Or when the sheriff bought a vacuum cleaner.
Santee: "Dirty Dan will help me escape."
That's what Manfretti and Johnson thought.
LOL!
Billy the kid also escaped from prison by shimmying up a chimney when he was a teenager after being arrested for being in possession of stolen laundry
I read that.
We just love the humor in your episodes. Our favorite is T-Rex.
Thank you!
This was great and very entertaining! Love the bloopers at the end! You're right about the jail breaks. It was a lot easier than most would think and often uneventful!
Thank you!
Thanks again Santee & Co . I was a Navy MP for a couple of years or shore duty between sea duty assignments . I've cuffed a few suspects and put them in temporary holding cells in our MP Headquarters . We would routinely detain and cuff suspects , call their command and transfer them to thir Master At Arms . One night I had cuffed a suspect with his hands behind his back and sat him on a bench beside the Watch Commander . He complained that the cuffs were too tight and the bench was pushing the cuffs into his spine . The Assistant Base Security Officer showed up and inspected the cuffs , found them within regulations , told him to quit complaining and to sit forward . Rather than put him in a cell , we decided to call his ship and transfer him into the custody of their Master At Arms . Before his ship's MA arrived the detainee bolted for the emergency rear door , pushed the crossbar and ran down the hill towards the main gate . A nearby patrol van was alerted , then the MP in the van reported that the escaper had faceplanted on the road . The MP took him back into custody then called for an ambulance to treat his facial and head wounds . His minor infraction of military discipline that would have resulted in a light punishment became a much more serious legal and medical issue .
Wow, that is some story. I bet that guy today is embarrassed.
Still the single best educational videos available.
Love the nod to Hogan's Heroes.
Hey Dan
Hey Rita
Hey!
Thank you!
Howdy
This vid could be a good lead in to lynch mobs and vigilante justice, great content as always SYODTT.
Thank you!
That was a blast, thanks Santee!!!
You bet!
Another great episode, and the bit with the ghost escaping from Stalag 13 was hilarious.
Thank you!
Yes! When I saw the title, I said there better be a scene from Support Your Local Sheriff! Great episode, Santee!
Thank you!
You have outdone yourself on this video. I can see a lot of work going into this one. Dirty Dan is a hoot! Always enjoy watching your videos. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you!
Thank you Sir!
I love the scene from the movie with the jail with no bars. The sheriff made a blob of red paint on the floor and let arrestees believe it was a bloodstain from somebody who tried to escape, and failed.
Yeah, it was a funny one.
Sweet! At least Dan was honest about wanting a black hat... But giving you a halo in the process needs to see the joke land on him at some point!
LOL!
@@ArizonaGhostriders Thanks Santee!!!
Thats just a little hurtful, however maybe in some small way deserved.
DAMN IT, DIRTY DAN !!!! He's got your hat and caused a blooper reel. Them thar gotta be jailin offenses :) LOL
Jail's gone!
I am one continuous blooper reel and I have faster horses.
I can't say that I have much in common with crooks,
but seeing a good jailbreak deception well played
is something to admire.
Not every prisoner is a crook
and not every “law” is just.
Thank you!
Everyone steals Santee's line, and he gets put in the slammer for it. That's parental justice, right there!
LOL
As a whisky lover you belongs near bars. I tried my best to come up with a good jail pun, but they kind of escape me.
Please stay where you are. The sheriff is on his way and you will be placed in the cell next to Santee. You are being arrested for that most terrible of crimes. Puns which are so bad they are funny.
Oh .mercy they'll have us all behind bars lol
It takes talent to cell those jokes. That is the key to a successful pun.
Oh my!
I love that you showed a photo of the Territorial Prison in Larmaie, Wyo.
Gotta get there one day
It was a lot harder to escape when you were thrown into one of the prisons that used the Pennsylvania Prison style. Those were the 19th Century equivalent to today's Super-Max prisons. Prisoners could go weeks without actually seeing another prisoner in those prisons. They were more common back east though due to the cost to build them. The prototype for the design was partially developed by Benjamin Franklin in the late 18th Century. It was one of the last major projects that he was involved in.
Very interesting extra info!
@@ArizonaGhostriders If you want more information on it, look up the Walnut Street Jail, later named the Walnut Street Prison. It was the prototype for the Pennsylvania system of prisons. Famous prisons that initially were based on it were Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, Moundsville State in Moundsville, WV, and Attica State, in N.Y. All three were slowly renovated away from the model as criminal justice shifted away from punishment and towards rehabilitation in the very late 19th and early 20th Centuries. What is even crazier about these prisons is that they were usually ran by Quakers before there was an official Department of Corrections.
WOW 😳, you look great behind bars. What's so funny about those bars is I could have climbed out of them 🤣😂
Cool!
Now that would be impressive!
That dirty Dan he is a character! Thanks for another great video Santee 🌵🤠
My pleasure!!
Welp, it was a darn good run, Santee. Been nice knowing ya. Glad the hat survived.
It did!
Just has a new owner. Oh, BTW It's for sale.
My goodness! My wife stood behind me the whole video laughing in my ear!
But...it was meant to be serious!
Cereal maybe .... serious never!
That wife laughing thing, we just have that effect on the women folks. Sometimes its uncontrollable.
Great episode yet again. I suspect that it's no different today. Except for now it's called work release, where it could be easy just to walk away. Fun!
HA!
Might even get a participation trophy just for showing up.
Can’t remember where, but I’ve been to a town that had a “jail tree” - miscreants were chained to a big ass tree in the middle of town. Also saw the “jail rock” - a huge boulder with an eyebolt that bad boys were attached to. And another town that couldn’t afford bars for their new jail so they omitted windows entirely. All in Arizona I think.
Wickenburg, AZ. Tucson also did it early on before they made a jail.
Gleason AZ had a tree first. Then ran a cable across the wash to another tree. Chained the prisoners to the cable. Year round.
There was a lawman who confined his prisoners by staking them to the ground underneath a cowhide.
Outflippinstanding Santee! Things went boom, explanations about reality were shared & another entertaining Saturday morning! Ooooooorah!
Glad you enjoyed it!
LOL,
Your movies keep getting better and better. Great episode!

Love it CREW,. Thanks for always being my Saturday morning roll outta bed video.. 👍👍
You're welcome.
Just a Tip there neighbor ..... place ya sum pillows on the floor like I do. Makes the landing a lot softer when you roll out! Thx!
"Oh, we did find Santee after the attempted jail break. Over there. And over there. And right about there..." ;)
HAH!
Another excellent video Mr Santee. That part about Tom Horn and the bicycle chase was hilarious ,🤠. Your pard, Kid Tumbleweed
Thanks, you too!
Somehow I haven't gotten notification for a few weeks.
Now I get to binge a few.
I hear that from folks
Great Video Santee! Love the ending and the outtakes!!! You and Dan are a hoot! If'n Id'a known, I could have sent you some pictures of the old 1800s jail near me.
Might be good to get them at some point. Send 'em over!
You could probably just sketch it from memory . If not, what the heck. Take along a pad and pencil next night out with the fellas. Then when you get to jail, you'll have something to do.
@@dannyray4116 I've only ever seen it while driving by, I don't ever plan on a sleepover there!
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview I hear ya, my mistake. (wink, wink)
Oh no, hope you heal quickly. Next Saturday will come fast. 😂
I've had worse!
Brilliant, dear Santee. Another great video 📹 from yours... 🌈

Jail Guards; “don’t run, you’ll just die tired”
Yup!
Good topic. Have visited many former frontier jails turned museums here in TX.
I would like to visit those one day.
Yessir, it always sounds better when its worded carefully.
Sorry I didn’t get her sooner! Currently out of the country! Great video Santee!
No worries! Enjoy your trip
Santee abused again lol(love the oopps at the end)
🤠
Classic Dirty Dan! 😎😂
Right?
Very good topic for today.
Thanks for once again kicking off Saturday for me. Take it easy man. 😎
Thanks, you too!
Great vid, Santee!🍻💥🤠
Glad you enjoyed it
Billy the Kid had small hands?
Gees, poor Santee can't even hold onto a single small stick of dynamite with both hands!
Santee makes that reference of Billy The Kid a lot. Maybe over compensating. Or not.
Hey!
He was a little guy.
Another awesome video! Never thought of this topic! Always an awesome video!
Much appreciated.
Ol' Tom Horn's break out kind'a sounds like a Benny Hill sketch, I can hear the Yakety Sax playing over it. Bill Horn would be a great subject fer a episode, that fella was next level!
It did seem sorta funny, in a way, eh?
Great video and channel. Support from Ireland!
Awesome, thank you!
Love the Hogans Heroes homage.
THanks.
Loved the video as always. I was held captive by it. 😁
So glad! LOL!
@@ArizonaGhostriders you know, the Warden through a party at the County Jail.
Shaking like a dog sh!tting a peach seed. That definitely painted a picture. Thanks Dan!
LOL!
As always Sir. I'm here to help!
Great episode Santee. I always enjoy learning the truth over myth. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
Myths vs reality when it comes to prison escapes, I'm purdy sure good ol' ghostly Bill may have a few stories to tell, ain't that right Santee
He does.
O Saturday... how I love thee to bring me yet another awesome video from these wonders of westian information.
Thank you!
Sure makes me wonder Sir!
Rex patrolling outside would make me want to stay incarcerated….and Bill might get a criminal but he’s a patriot so earned his incarceration in that military prison 🤣
Yep!
Laugh good. Great one Santee
Much appreciated.
BOOOM ;) haha Great episode Santee - keep your hat on and keep em comming ;)
Thanks! Will do!
Loved it!
Thank you!
Excellent sir. Enjoyed the topic. Even captivated by it 🤠 Keep em rolling.
HA! Thanks.

Love the episode. Where did you film you in jail? Dirty Dan freed yer hat. 🤣
Trail Dust Town.
Santee, you've gotta learn by now, bad choices = Jaily Jail
Ohhhh!
Did my eyes deceive me or were there AGR logos in the jail and on the prison? Nicely done gang as usual great content and a pleasure to watch. Thanx!
Yes.

Great work!
Thank you!
Perfect timing santee!!!! I just got back from Oklahoma. This place called Turner falls. There's a civil war castle/ outpost there. I got to see what it was like to be locked up too in their cells. I also got to explore a cave called Outlaws cave. Bad guys would take refuge from Texas outlawz when the were on the run.I
It was very exciting!!!!! I also got to swim after exploring. You gotta check it out!!!
Thanks!! I hope to one day.
Wow, who knew there was a pool in the old castle/outpost. Just shucked them duds and jumped in did ya? Now that is impressive. Have ya tried passin the hat fer tips?
Love this man!
Much appreciated.
Love these videos, informative and a great sense of humour 😀🌵🤠
Glad you enjoyed it
Bars….I can’t seem to stay away from them according to my therapist
Yeah....I hear ya
Which do you remember seeing the most. Top of the bar or bottom side of the bar?
@@dannyray4116 you know….funny I never remember the bottom only the top
@@SlickSixguns I was throwing a bone. Hell, none of us remember the bottom sides.
Hello all, And hello and good morning MR Santee.
Thank you!
Anybody else hear Jeff Dunham's "get in the basket" at the 'brought back to town on bicycles' bit?
Saw him live on stage. Man is seriously talented.
I`m in the jail house now :) AWESOME !
Uhhh....they have internet?
Santee, could you please make one about dressing the part: carpenter/joiner? And maybe one about tools or craftsmen and journeymen/craftsmanship in the old west since you already covered a few essential jobs
P.S. Bern enjoying every single video I watched on your channel. Incredibly informative and entertaining while keeping it short, thats really an art in itself.
Greetings from far far away
I'll try!
At least San tee will start looking like his skeleton friend.
LOL!
Great video as usual
Glad you enjoyed it
Spent some time around what's left of "Yuma Territorial Prison" many years ago. Wouldn't want to have a room there....Otis & Barney's escapades would have been great fillers for this one. Wait , Dirty Dan & Santee were great fill-ins for them !!
Thank you!
Yur too kind sir, not like sum other fellers.
Only thing worse than a man losing his head, is a man losing his hat.
I know....I know.

Glad you enjoyed it
Love ur videos santee!!

"Its all about the proper amount of leverage!" Captain Jack Sparrow. ☠
YEP!
1:45 Dangerous woman escapes from jail! Pearl Hart recaptured only after desperate chase! Cincinnati 6, Cleveland 2.
Although everyone knows about "The Great Escape", we had ours too in the US. Down your way, near Phoenix, 25 German POWs escaped a camp, hoping to make it to neutral Mexico. All but 2 were captured almost immediately, and the last two gave up after spending a month or so in the desert winter.
Interesting.
The way I heard it, the semiautomatic pistol that Tom Horn got ahold of was a P08 Luger and he was recaptured as he was trying to figure out the safety.
Yeah? I couldn't find a reference to the actual model of firearm. Good info.
Awesome!👍🏾😀❤️🇺🇸
Thank you!
Wish you guys had a list for all the movie clips you guys use in the videos
Me too. They are all listed in my head, bouncing around.
Great video. Nothing escaped you on that one
Thanks. I was locked in to getting it right.
Ok, this one made me laugh!!!
