Please never stop these, what you are doing for the sport of powerlifting is what's helping it grow so much. You have no idea how much I rewatched last year's battle of the 93s.
That’s so kind of you to say 🥺 We’re doing our best! Will get out more from worlds for sure, hopefully we’ll be able to make it a consistent thing 😄 Really inspiring hear you say so man! That 93 video meant a lot to us and inspired us to keep going!!
The video we needed. So much controversy in this weight class. Calls on Taylor’s last squat and deadlift, Tim’s deadlift overturned to good. Can’t believe only 3kg between all of them at the end.
@@capnmecrunchys1885on the last squat I can agree, but that deadlift was not good, and if you give Taylor the squat you have to allow Cali to pull more, and in my opinion he had more
@@WhiteLightsMedia i think a better comparison would be if he side by side with the two other lifters. Atwoods knees looked soft, expecially when seeing the competition.
I don’t see how you can give Tim his deadlift when he was literally leaned sideways but not Taylor. He settled and locked out. Also his squat was definitely depth. I don’t understand
Atwood’s final deadlift arguably shouldn’t have counted, but Monegotti’s was worse-not locked out. Atwood’s squat looked good. Close competition and Johansson may have won on final pull even if Atwood’s squat counted.
Absolutely epic video. Even though I watched the live stream and know the end result, I was still glued to my screen watching this lol. I hope there are more of these coming! 🙏🏻
Depth called on one side and soft lockout called from one judge. IDK. I thought depth looked in, I can agree with one blue for lockout. Maybe when they reviewed the jury agreed depth was fine, but lockout was not?
the ref on Tim's right side would have seen a good deadlift. i guess all refs would have seen Taylor struggle to lock his right knee out and/or the downward motion would have been clear since his rep was so long
Atwood's swuat was due to depth and weak knee lockout. But it looks fine to me. Maybe not from the judge's perspective. For deadlift, i think his knee bend a lil when pulling up but the lockout was finally good. The fact that he never got the 'down' command was... Id say not fair
Look I’m not a Taylor fan but it is unacceptable that they overturned tims last pull but red lighted Taylor’s. The precedent they set with Taylor’s pull should’ve been upheld for Tim’s and it wasn’t. I think Carl deserves it more, but I think Taylor was the real winner
Aint no way they robbed Taylor Atwood like that OMG. not only did bro lockout he held that weight long, but gave Tim all white when his pull was leaning all on the right what the hell. Carl Johansson HAS THAT DAWG IN HIM!!!!!
that's the Swedish coach! You can get your lift removed if you stay on the platform for more than 1 minute after your lift, so she grabbed him so it wasn't taken away. Very smart!
The judging for the most prestigious and competitive powerlifting competition in the world or at least supposed to be was poor at moments it really counted, that last squat was solid, now the deadlift for almost all their last attempts were rough, Atwood maybe was locked out he really held that and ground it out to make sure he was good but even then if your not counting that, Monegotti for sure wasn’t kicked out
This was absolute robbery wat the shit, squat was perfect and deadlift he eventually locked out and for Tim to get his deadlift but taylor to not is ridiculous
@@WhiteLightsMedia Taylors 3rd squat, also Tim's 3rd deadlift, i think wasn't locked out, but some people are saying it technically was dispite one side being lower than the other.
@@reggie7716yup you can have one side of the bar higher than the other as long as it is locked out. you can see that his left leg is still twitching, one white light at best from the ref on the other side.
maybe next time ipf gets some sensible judges though. -atwood 3rd squat was good -monigatti had downward motion & a soft right knee on deadlift granted good call red lighting taylors last pull. that shit was ramped. probably would've still resulted in a Johnasson pull win, but still. get the judging right
ı dont't like this kind of editing when the lifter takes place and suddenly the scene jumps to lifting phase we wonder how they settle to the rack and bench don't cut those parts
It would make the video so much slower though 😅 13 mins is already a long time to watch people lift for, and you can watch all the set up from the stream. But I appreciate the feedback, maybe we can get some more slower paced content too if there’s more demand for it 😎
