I hope you're still milking. Family farms are disappearing rapidly. Very sad. I live two miles down the road from the last remaining dairy farm in Somerset County NJ

I would like to hear how your bottling your own milk worked out for you.

Milking in a flat barn? I didn't know anyone still milked that way. What a back breaker!

@Blake Siegle (Student) I had a dairy in SW Washington and Tillamook, Oregon. Neighbors were mostly double herringbone or side openers. I only knew of one flat barn still milking. And that was 35 years ago.

@Blake Siegle (Student) 35 years ago, the average cow numbers milking in Oregon was 65. Not counting dry cows.
My parents left Minnesota when the temp was zero for 30 days. 1936.

just remember that up to 40% of what state inspectors write you up for in the barn has nothing to do with quality of milk. and milk companies would like to see all farmers go to grade B milk cause they make more money cause there is NO law saying they have to put on the cheese or butter label made from grade B milk.
