I am Japanese living in Scotland for 12years. When I lived in Japan my Scottish wife bought Billy’s World Tour of Scotland DVDs for me. It was the best introduction to Scotland for me! I immediately loved Billy and watched it so many times. It made me decide to move to Scotland eventually and I like living here very much. Thanks Billy.

I am a Scottish man living in Japan (Niigata) for 10 years next month. When I was a little boy (about 9 or 10 years old), I remember this being on the TV when I lived with my family in St. Andrews. I bought it from Amazon UK about three years ago, and now watch it and feel terribly nostalgic for where I'm from, even more so now that I went back to Fife to see my family over Christmas.

"World Tour Of Scotland" was a fantastic series, not just the places Billy went but the people he met along the way. Featured some of his best stand-up material as well - what more could you ask for?

I remember watching it, when he goes into the wee hall in Shetland and says to the locals, you could do with more wind here. Priceless Billy Connolly.

I know Billy is retired now and living in sunny Florida but i would love to see him do something like this again, perhaps catching up with some of the people we met on the show.

Miles and miles of bugg ... not a lot. I remember watching this series years ago and I still laugh at that line. I met Billy quite a few years back and I thanked him for this series; He introduced me to Scotland and a love for the place that I still have today. Wonderful, genuine and funny man.

I love billy always have I’m northern English but always had a draw to Scotland, it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. Not sure if this is bollocks or not , maybe it is, but around 20 years ago I saw a psychic who without being given clues or prompted said I was Scottish in a former life etc. I’m sceptical on all that tbh but in some way my heart and spirit is always drawn to Scotland.

it’s interesting that you started this out with the castle of the Duke of Atholl. many years ago at a science fiction convention I was unofficially (read that, “drunkenly”) adopted into the Murray of Atholl clan. I was at a room party with 3 lovely Scotsmen, drinking Scotch of course, and they took a liking to me.

    • @Strathclydegamer

The joke is that when they opened the bomb bay doors, the nightshift who worked on assembling the plane, fell out and kept playing cards on the way down. Basically it’s a joke that nightshift workers hide and play cards, drink and smoke when they’re meant to be working 😂

@MichaelKingsfordGray:... What happened to correct use of the written English language!?
If, in exclaiming "you infant" you're calling the person an infant, you should've ended with "!". By ending with "?" as you did, you're effectively ASKING if they're an infant, which makes your wording *extremely* poor grammar.
Add to that the fact that you can't type a comment without slagging someone off, putting them down or simply writing something sad, laughable, bitter, untrue, inappropriate and pathetic and it all adds up to and points to you're being an extremely pitiable human being. Good luck ol' son, because you and ALL around you... Are going to need it...!
