We just received ours. It works surprisingly well. I am always skeptical of new tech, but this actually does what it says. One thing everyone needs to know and understand, it won't do anything at all until you use it in a meeting. Otherwise it just sits there. Once you enter a meeting (Zoom for instance) it really performs well. Well done folks.

we have the pro and our only complaints its super grainy with the digital zoom. are you having the same issue with yours?

@@rcorrea26 It will always to that. This camera uses a digital zoom lens which crops and enlarges portions of your origianl 360 image. If it had optical zoom the lens would actually move to a specific area and the image would be crystal clear. It would also cost about 15K.

but everyone has to stare at the owl instead of the monitor where the other attendee is showing.

That’a why I sent mine back. If everybody joins with their laptop, you don’t need the Owl. If they look at a television, it looks really weird. Mic is poor too.

@@jesperweiland Yeah, try managing 15 people with laptops that have no idea how audio works and keep their mics and speakers unmuted. Lots of squealing feedback fun.

I work for a large national organisation representing blind and low vision persons. I would be very keen to try this solution, it looks like it potentially offers numerous benefits when it comes to accessibility.

It also offers significant benefits for hearing accessibility, having the microphone close to each of the participants rather than in a sound bar at the front of the room. We just ordered one. I'm curious to see how it performs.

I assume this can livestream a meeting to Facebook or TH-cam? I work in local government.

This is essentially just a camera, so you can still live stream. Can stream a Zoom meeting using it, or use OBS and set it as your camera and stream that way. Should work the same.

Just purchased this for my Company. I'm looking forward to working with it and will report back.

What is your opinion now that you've used the Owl camera for a couple of months?

    • @Retrovideogamesandmore

@@TonyFlemingorg Really like it so far. The only issue I'm having with it is that sometimes it won't turn off even when I turn off the PC that it is attached to. When that happens, I have to unplug the owl. Overall, we really like it. I added the additional microphone for our large board room and that completed the setup.

Absolutely missed opportunity for the owl to be on a motorized swivel and the eyes focus on whoever is talking.

Is it made in China? I have security concern.

This is so stupid. American tech companies and the American government regularly spys and steals sensitive data from us. How come you goofy people act like this doesn't happen?
