    The Weihenstephan which you take as an example for Helles ist actually a Pils, as the bottle says 😅 I don't know that specific beer but it should be simpler, more bitter and dryer than a Helles.

    That Marzen sounds amazing! Glad it worked out. Most of my favourite final homebrews caused me mild depression when tasting them from the fermenter.
    Also, "I don't think it beats my wheat." 29:14 feels like it should be a t-shirt.

    It sounds like your Helles is more in line with a Dortmunder (or Helles Export as the US people call it)

      Yeah very likely could be, it’s definitely got more malt back bone than I think what is traditional

    Hi, I'd like to know what brand and size conical fermenter you use and does it come with the dry hop glass mechanism. Thanks great info you give too

      @davedreves6522 this is the fermenter we use, the dry hopper doesn’t come with it but we do explain in the vid all the mods we made to the tank

      But it’s a Ss brewtech half Bbl unitank, and the dry hopper is from newera brewing from memory, but it’s basically just a 3 inch sight glass with a butterfly valve and a 3 inch plate with a gas inlet and prv release

      You know what I reckon that’d actually go down brilliantly, with summer coming I may whack that one on the list quite soon

    I would be very upset if I was brewing a lager and it came out looking like that iGulu beer 😂 I wonder if the fermentation stalled or if the malt extract had a tonne of unfermentable sugars hence the sweet taste?
    Also what's the German beer selection like in Aus? I noticed you had the Weihenstephaner pils rather than the Helles?

    • @flyingwombattv
      @flyingwombattv  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly the selection isn’t super spectacular, you can find some limited German beers at a liquor store, normally pauliner, franciskaner or this

      How does rotbier compare to a modern red ale? Or Irish red?
