I was so disappointed with Peter B in this scene (not in the direction they took his character, I actually think this is great and there's definitely reasons he turned out like this, but from like an in-universe perspective). Like this guy is chokeslamming your 15yo kid friend acquaintance and telling him he's the reason someone died and all you got is a weak "go easy on him"..? Not to mention introducing him as "this is my friend Miguel, he doesn't bite" (read: he's harmless) when he knows full well that Miguel has a strong and specific reason for hating Miles (he's an anomaly) that means he will likely reject Miles from the Society at best and mistreat him at worse.
Everyone is talking about the emotional impact of this scene, but I just love the fact that Miguel was fading the hell out of Miles. That shit was so satisfying--seeing someone more experienced actually be more experienced for once. If Miles hadn't led the army of spider people up there for Miguel to have a moment of panic about, Miles would have been caught right then and there. That feels like an earned win for Miles as opposed to the bullshit most movies pull with how the protagonist gets out of a sticky situation (no pun intended).

Miles-1610 LITERALLY did not belong. The spider who originally bit him was meant for Miles-42. A addiction that would have faded on its own miguel just was in a rush and a guy activated the device which spliced his dna.The fangs are spider fangs where if he bites you it injects a venom that paralyzes you temporarily
The only thing that angers me is that Miguel is blaming miles for Peter Parker death and spot let him escape. Why don’t Miguel blame kingpin for the collider?
It's not Miles' fault nor was it in his control without knowing the spider that bit him was from another dimension in the first movie. Miles had no knowledge about it back then.
He doesn’t blame the Kingpin, because that would hit a little too close to home. Miguel essentially did what the Kingpin was trying to do by getting a new family from another dimension.
The fight scene is amazing in and of itself but the morality comes into play with it. Miguel is fighting with a burning anger because he sees Miles as being an abomination and to a certain extent he's right since it wasn't his spider to be bitten and he has to deal with canon events playing out or risk destroying the mulitiverse. Then you got Miles who's not even asked for any of this and is fighting to belong in the reality he was drawn into and to save his Father from dying. Stakes like that don't come along too often but when it does...wow.
this fight scene is such bullshit 😂 if it was realistic, miles would get his ass kicked by the thousands of spider-men there. but nooooo, miles has the most insane shitty plot armour ever!
Even thoe miles sent Miguel flying this is a durability feat for Miguel so he can’t be underestimated because king pin couldn’t even move after he got hit wit the blast
Miguel is so wrong. Miles didn't choose his fate. He's making the most of what happened. Fisk and Alchemex bridged the multiverse and brought the spider. Miguel is similar to Fisk and Scarlet Witch. He became obsessed with the family he couldn't have and took his anger out on some random kid. I guess being a dictator is his way of feeling in control. That's why Hobie dislikes him.
Hobie is trash, hes talking bs half of the time. And Miguel is not wrong, but also is not Miles fault, the spider shouldnt be on that universe on the 1st place. 1 Peter died thanks to that anomaly, then they fix a mess, but only on 1 universe, the only 1 keeping it up together was Miguel, he saved more lives than any other spider will ever do.
He stopped the collider which would’ve broke the canon in hundreds of dimensions even more than right now. And he’s on his way to stop the Spot, right now. Although, right now he’s a bit hogtied.
@@evanholloway1692 just because miles did a good job being Spider-Man in the first movie does not change the fact that he’s an anomaly and was not meant to be bitten by the spider. It’s not his fault but he’s not really supposed to be Spider-Man in his universe. He was supposed to have a normal life. And his Peter was supposed to live. But because of kingpin, Peter died and miles wrongfully became Spider-Man. Frankly in a way it was forced upon him. And it also doesn’t justify him willfully going out of his way to try to do something that he has been informed will tear the multiverse apart. After he already did it once earlier in the movie for saving someone else. Literally in the first movie he was told that the hardest part of the job is that you can’t save everyone. And that IS certainly the hardest part. He’s not accepting that and if he doesn’t learn to accept it soon, he’s gonna destroy the fucking multiverse. Arguing miles side is seriously no good here. Miguel even said to him “you’re choosing between saving one person, or saving a whole world. EVERY world.” (Literally every universe and every person that exists or could exist) but he’s being selfish and naive trying to save his own father. Believe me dude I get it. Nobody wants to stand by and watch their dad die. But if he tries to stop it, he’ll kill everyone. He’s not on the right side at all. Miguel is. It’s just Miguel is being very mean about it. But he tried being reasonable and miles continued to be an uncooperative little annoying pest about it.
@@MU74N7K1LL3R though i am surprised you made an essay about this. Miguel is wrong in a lot of ways. One, Miguel should accept the fact that replacing his dead-self was extremely wrong as it was not different to what Kingpin attempted. Two, Did you see Earth-42 shatter losing the spider or the Miles (currently the Prowler) who was supposedly Spider-Man didn't become one? Did you see the universe of Peter B losing because the reason for Mayday's existence is Miles? DUDE, 1610 (the "pest" miles' universe) or a lot of events in various universe being changed would already have been lost if Miguel's conclusion were true. Dude this movie has already shown that anything is possible and fate/destiny can still be changed. Miguel was simply an idiot for letting his emotions win.
... Now that i'm looking back at the scene, i realized something weird (i'm positive i'm not the only one but i haven't scrolled down enough in the comment sections to see something akin to it, so here i go.) When Miguel goes on his diatribe at 1:03 , he insist on one point : _"You're the original anomaly !"_ And this got me like _"-wait, what ?"_ Because this neither chronologically nor rationnaly makes no sense. Miguel's reasoning laid on different facts in _his_ own specific order : 1) 1:11_"The spider that you your powers wasn't from your dimension."_ 2) 1:18 _"It was never supposed to bite you !"_ 3) 1:21 _"There's a world out there with no Spider-Man to protect them because it bite you instead."_ 4) 1:26 _"You're not supposed to be Spider-Man !"_ 5) 1:33 _"If you hadn't been bit, your Peter Parker would have lived. Instead he dies saving you."_ 6) 1:41 _"He would've stopped the collider before it ever went off. Spot wouldn't exist. And none of this would've happened."_ 7) 1:49 _"And all this time, i have been the only one holding it all together !"_ Here's the thing : statement n°6) is asserting that _"Spot wouldn't exist.",_ all while statement n°3) claim that _"There's a world out there with no Spider-Man to protect them because it bit you instead."_ Problem : *that's completely contradictory.* Why ? Not simply because the individual that'd eventually would become [the Spot] was the one that tempered with dimensionnal travel to begin with, and on the HIGHLY specifically unique radioactive spider that turn people into Spider-man of all things (un-arguably THE MOST IMPORTANTLY DEFINING "CANON" MOMENT IN THE BECOMING OF A SPIDER-MAN. PERIOD). No, not even close. But that, when you look closely at the flash back of "where" the spider got shenanigan'd into another dimension, *she was litteraly about to bit the Miles Morales of universe 42.* Meaning Miguel obligatorily knows that, in a potentially infinite universe with infinite Spider-Man, Earth 42 was supposed to have a *[Miles Morales]* as a Spider-Man. And the reason it didn't happened was because the spider got transported to the universe of the "Miles Morales" we know. *Miguel KNOWS that our Miles Morales had no agency over the bitting. Period !* In other words, Miles Morales, like any other Spider-Man (ironically enough), never had the agency of choosing to become Spider-Man in the first place. And like EVERY other Spider-Man, once confronted to the reality of his own newly found super-power, he very rationnaly concluded that he didn't want to have them, nor the implicit newly found, heavy responsabilities that went alongside it. Excepted that there's an absolutely critical difference with the rest of every single other Spider-Man, including Miguel : from the moment he saved him from the fall into the collider to his very last breath, *"Miles' very own Spider-Man endorsed him* (even going as far as making Miles promise to carry on with the task that Peter, then on his proverbial death bed, couldn't anymore.) Ergo, Miles DID received the approval of HIS Spider-Man and *did* choose to continue the legacy of "Spider-Man" ; he not only had the agency but also the approval. And what was the result of this decision ? Amongst other things, "Humility Spider-Man" (as Hoobie called him) got back with the love of his life, got a child and went on becoming more fulfilled as a human being more than as a Spider-Man - while never forsaking the costume either. And Miguel ? When he went into the universe where his alter ego got killed to replace him, despite being a "Legitimate" Spider-Man from the get go, he factually went as an *usurper* ; He seized the agency that his alter ego was deprived off for himself, thinking it was harmless (in his own words) and reality allegedly litteraly came appart from this decision. As a result of it, he became utterly focused on his task as *"Protector of the multiverse",* desperatly trying to fix similar interdimensionnal problem regarding the "Canon" of [Spider-Man] to make-up with, what he perceived to have been an unfixable and unforgiveable failure. He essentially became better as a Spider-Man rather than as a human. In a nutshell : Miles Morales (the current protagonist), despite being an "illegitimate" Spider-Man that never truly had agency over what he became, succeeded at improving the situation for another Spider-Man. Whereas Miguel O'hara, a "Legitimate" Spider-Man, failed spectacularily for (visibly) no apparent reason. Thus, what i conclude from this exchange in the movie is that Miguel's comment about Miles being _"the original anomaly."_ has actually nothing to do with dimensions or the "Canon" : Miguel is angry at Miles for being an "anomaly" in the sense that he actually has a positive impact on other Spider-Man and their own world, which now look ever further more to their own better future - a future that Miguel, a pure "non-anomaly" of a Spider-Man, has already been definitely deprived of. It's the despair and rage at the injustice spat to his face that makes Miguel loses his shit. Not Miles per se but what he represent : a fake Spider-Man to whom things seems to go right, whereas to Miguel seemingly nothing does. (I'd have lost my shit as well with this kind of constant bad-beat.) MAN ! What a brick wall !
Something I love both in general but here because they do it so beautifully is just how integrated the music is with the scene that it practically becomes a form of dialogue. This scene especially.
corny ass line for someone whos being willfully ignorant and going out of his way to do something he knows will destroy the entire multiverse and all that exists.

@laishey2594 oh alright. Well, I can't blame him either. I can definitely understand Miguel here. He has gotten so routined in the multiverse that Miles screwing it up kind of fabricated everything. Still though, if Gwen would have told this to Miles, WHEN HE ASKED HER WHAT SHE WAS DOING, this entire thing would be avoided. I mean, Miles fought alongside people from many different universes, I think he would understand the multiverse a little bit
“He died saving you” Hold on, Peter 1610 didn’t die because of Miles, not even as a result of saving him. Yes Peter saved him from falling, but then they chatted and he went straight to the collider. Peter was about to shut it down until Prowler ambushed him then Goblin jammed Peter in the collider during the test, which blew it up killing Goblin and injuring Peter. Whether or not Miguel knows this, he’s flat out wrong about Miles being a mistake. I think he does know because he has “cameras” monitoring each dimension’s events in the spider-verse. Present _and past._

Because of Miles getting bit, Spider-Man, Uncle Aaron, and Miles' father have died by proxy. Many more less notable have and will. If Miles gets his way, EVERYTHING dies. That's a lot.
This was the turning moment of the movie for me. Miguel is "practically" telling Miles to kill himself. then the others didn't told him he was an anomaly. Which I get them, because they found it unrelevant to him and didn't wanted to hurt Miles because they knew he would act this way. But Miguel... damn. He told Miles the truth about his existence, whispered into his ear like a villain telling the hero something hurtful heartbreaking and slamming him into the ground multiples times while blamming him for the reason off all the shenanigans happening consecutively. The dude may be a Spider Man, but he sure ain't no hero. In my eyes, he's nothing but a "cheap f**king knock-off".
I don't think he's telling miles to kill himself, Miguel could have easily killed him if he wanted to, just grab his throat while squeezing and poping his claws out, and it would be done, he's more telling him to not fuck the multiverse up more than it already has been by his existence.

Gotta love how Peter and Gwen both immediately stop trying to help Miles when he catches on to the truth.

If Miles hadn't led the army of spider people up there for Miguel to have a moment of panic about, Miles would have been caught right then and there. That feels like an earned win for Miles as opposed to the bullshit most movies pull with how the protagonist gets out of a sticky situation (no pun intended).
I mean it's clear that Miles was holding back immensity. He purposely never went invisible or used his venom.powers.
I think Miguel was physically stronger but Miles’s objective wasn’t to fight but to escape. Miles also did get a few good moves on him, but it was really until the space highway when he started glitching that Miguel began really hitting him.

Miguel is basically the TVa of the spiderverse movies
DUDE, 1610 (the "pest" miles' universe) or a lot of events in various universe being changed would already have been lost if Miguel's conclusion were true. ... Now that i'm looking back at the scene, i realized something weird (i'm positive i'm not the only one but i haven't scrolled down enough in the comment sections to see something akin to it, so here i go.)
When Miguel goes on his diatribe at 1:03 , he insist on one point : _"You're the original anomaly !"_
And this got me like _"-wait, what ?"_ Because this neither chronologically nor rationnaly makes no sense. Miguel's reasoning laid on different facts in _his_ own specific order :
1) 1:11_"The spider that you your powers wasn't from your dimension."_
2) 1:18 _"It was never supposed to bite you !"_
3) 1:21 _"There's a world out there with no Spider-Man to protect them because it bite you instead."_
4) 1:26 _"You're not supposed to be Spider-Man !"_
5) 1:33 _"If you hadn't been bit, your Peter Parker would have lived. Instead he dies saving you."_
6) 1:41 _"He would've stopped the collider before it ever went off. Spot wouldn't exist. And none of this would've happened."_
7) 1:49 _"And all this time, i have been the only one holding it all together !"_
Here's the thing : statement n°6) is asserting that _"Spot wouldn't exist.",_ all while statement n°3) claim that _"There's a world out there with no Spider-Man to protect them because it bit you instead."_
Problem : *that's completely contradictory.*
Why ? Not simply because the individual that'd eventually would become [the Spot] was the one that tempered with dimensionnal travel to begin with, and on the HIGHLY specifically unique radioactive spider that turn people into Spider-man of all things (un-arguably THE MOST IMPORTANTLY DEFINING "CANON" MOMENT IN THE BECOMING OF A SPIDER-MAN. PERIOD). No, not even close. But that, when you look closely at the flash back of "where" the spider got shenanigan'd into another dimension, *she was litteraly about to bit the Miles Morales of universe 42.*
Meaning Miguel obligatorily knows that, in a potentially infinite universe with infinite Spider-Man, Earth 42 was supposed to have a *[Miles Morales]* as a Spider-Man. And the reason it didn't happened was because the spider got transported to the universe of the "Miles Morales" we know. *Miguel KNOWS that our Miles Morales had no agency over the bitting. Period !*
In other words, Miles Morales, like any other Spider-Man (ironically enough), never had the agency of choosing to become Spider-Man in the first place. And like EVERY other Spider-Man, once confronted to the reality of his own newly found super-power, he very rationnaly concluded that he didn't want to have them, nor the implicit newly found, heavy responsabilities that went alongside it. Excepted that there's an absolutely critical difference with the rest of every single other Spider-Man, including Miguel : from the moment he saved him from the fall into the collider to his very last breath, *"Miles' very own Spider-Man endorsed him* (even going as far as making Miles promise to carry on with the task that Peter, then on his proverbial death bed, couldn't anymore.)
Ergo, Miles DID received the approval of HIS Spider-Man and *did* choose to continue the legacy of "Spider-Man" ; he not only had the agency but also the approval.
(I'd have lost my shit as well with this kind of constant bad-beat.)

@@EricDillingham Could argue that Kingpin's family and virtually everything spurred by him was all Peter-1610B by that metric, lol
@@strider117aldo9 Peter Parker's Spiderman would have defeated Kingpin if he wasn't distracted by Miles. Miles getting bit caused the entire calamity.
Miguel: You don’t belong here. You never did.

O’Hara definitely went way too far with that one! He crossed the line, Man!…..CROSSED THE LINE!!!!!!

1 year on and still I will not get tired re-watching this film. I love it!
Kinda an overexaggeration
I don't think he's telling miles to kill himself, Miguel could have easily killed him if he wanted to, just grab his throat while squeezing and poping his claws out, and it would be done, he's more telling him to not fuck the multiverse up more than it already has been by his existence.
Miguel should blame Spot (when Spot was a scientist) since he brought the spider from another dimension into Miles’ dimension.
@@nicholas-dv1mg Really? Then why did Miguel called a Miles a mistake? Is secretely Low Tier God or something?
@@YangTheAce if someone accidentally got pregnant and had a baby, the baby can be called a mistake, doesn't mean it should be killed by itself or other people
3:02 - Miguel: “Miles, don’t do this… I’m not wearing any underwear!”
1:06 Yoooooooooooooooooooo never noticed that glitch!!!
1:31 the only mistake I see is you, O’Hara. I suggest a new spider society leadership is needed and I move for “a vote of no confidence” in Miguel O’Hara as Spider-Man 2099
Vote for Miles Morales (Spider-Man 2099)
Canonically Miguel O'hara is not an error, unless he is an heir

As much as I like miles and all the action that he’s done, even all the help that he’s given to his city, Miguel was kinda right in this argument.
3:40 | What exactly did Peter teach Miles? What is Peter talking about and when did Peter teach him this?
He probably wants to credit himself from being the best mentor to miles.
He assisted miles in learning how to use his invisibility on command in the first movie.
He is his own master now
No one's writing his story but him
That’s very independent.
I love it!
@@evanholloway1692 you liked it, really?
And he is about to destroy the multiverse.
