This video is great. Pleasant but not overly loud music, no unnecessary intro, no long explanation of how your grandmother's uncle's cousin's dog gave you the rice cooker and how it sat in your closet for 6 years before you finally decided to use it, no "Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit that notification bell!!!!!!1!!!" crap. This is how you make videos!
This video is five years later I'm just now watching it but I like the easy-going calm music and you did this video so easy that we can understand what to do. Thank you
I have the cheaper Aroma Rice Cooker, that only has one button I press down to start cooking. Would it be possible to cook the chicken with my rice in that?
For diabetics, watch out. When cooking rice with a steamer tray in a rice cooker the boiling steam that rises up is full of starch that will cover your meat/vegetables.
I been using my steamer only for rice and veg. I use a air fryer for meats. Is chicken really that good steamed. LOL.. I no Im going to half to try it now.. Thanks for the video. Great job with it.
If i want to cook the chicken without the rice. Exactly how much water is it neccesary and for how long is it neccesary to cook? I'm not going to use an aroma rice cooker, but an ordinary rice cooker.
Little tip, don't cut the chicken up before putting in the cooker. If you do, shorten the time you have it in there.... Lesson learned! lol But I can see how awesome this would be if I didn't screw it up.... Thanks for the video.
I don't have a steaming tray. What if I put the chicken directly with the rice? The heat would kill any bacteria from the chicken. Would that be okay to do?
I tried this a while ago and recall the chicken strips did not cook thoroughly so cannot say with confidence that it will be okay. Even when using the steaming tray stick to small pieces to be on the safe side.
Sorry for the late reply, there is no guidance of cooking ratios in the manual but this was approx. about 8 to 10 oz of chicken cooked for around 25 to 30 minutes. The broccoli steamed cooked for the last 10 minutes
I did,...just took it off to get the shot of the water and rice below. The entire cycle is around 30 minutes so be sure to add the chicken right away so it cooks thoroughly.
It was cold filtered water. Some had concerns that the chicken may not cook all the way. It will just be sure to use strips and allow it to cook for the entire cycle and it will be fine. Don't crowd the steaming tray either... Big pieces of chicken I would avoid.
Sorry for the late reply. It dried up while I was setting up the end shots. Usually moist out of the cooker right away but does tend to dry up quickly, thanks for watching though :)
For 2 cups of rice, add 1 whole tomato on top of the rice, 2 slices of a whole onion, and 1 or 2 garlic cloves whole (to your liking) Brings out a really nice flavor Sprinkle some salt & pepper before you close the lid if you want an extra kick Dab of olive oil never hurts either
You can always flavor the water before you add it. Vegetable/beef/chicken broth, miso paste, sweeten it with some sugar, plenty you can do to change it up
This does not look that appertaining to me I probably would brown my meat or boil first before adding With all the illness you can get from under cooked meat don't know whether I would risk or not
Understood. This was more of a demonstration of the unit and what it can do. Chicken was cooked well and had a nice teriyaki flavor to it. Thanks for watching!
Drives me crazy when people rinse their rice 🤦♀️ it’s “enriched” meaning there is nutrition added, and you literally just washed those vitamins/minerals down the sink.
I tried it because I travel a lot for work and use a rice cooker and it wasn't that bad (I like the taste of chicken without seasoning anyway so bland isnt realy bland for me) chicken was slightly tough though, might try a little less time or I'll just go back to my bagged and pre cooked for the road
This is a good video but why did you have to use a plastic bag to season the chicken? What a waste! Just use a bowl like anyone would! These 1-use plastic bags are the worst thing for the environment! ... ... They should be banned so that people don't use them to, for example, season chicken in them (which is something you do in a BOWL) because they are lazy.
After how long did you put the chicken in
Put the chicken on top from the start! just took it it off for the moment to get the shot. Thanks for watching!
How long did you cook both the broccoli and chicken for?
The chicken cooked for around 30 minutes (entire white rice cycle), the broccoli for only 10 minutes since I like it on the crunchy side.
Counter Clutter can I cook it without the rice?
Dakota Dain yes....

PLEASE do more of these videos for rice cookers. Loved this!
yeah its nice
Thank goodness i found at least 1 video that helps me use my rice cooker in other ways! Thank you so much
I now have 3 rice cookers! All I need is this! Luv your channel!!
Thanks for the support! Did not think these demos would get any attention to be honest.
Excellent ideas thank you and that rice will taste better with the chicken drippings on it. 😊
Good vid. Just got my rice cooker. Looks like a person can cook exclusively and quickly w it.
Nice video. Thanks for not assaulting our ears with horrendous music.

Qué rico! Yo también uso mucho esa olla y mis recetas están en español.
Nice video so simple
When do you put the steamed items in ? I am very confused on how to cook the rice and steam food at the same time.
Please reply🙏 what if I just want to make chicken? Shall I just pour water below and that's it? Does this work
You can steam chicken without cooking rice. 3 cups of water should do fine just use small strips and select the steam setting... 25 to 30 minutes
@@CounterClutter thank you so much
Best video on the internet
Hi!! 😀Thank you SO MUCH for this video!!! Was wondering if you can tell us what "FLASH RICE" means on this rice cooker??
You're welcome! The Flash rice feature just cooks it bit faster but with a slightly lower grain quality/texture.
This video is five years later I'm just now watching it but I like the easy-going calm music and you did this video so easy that we can understand what to do. Thank you
Always wash your rice till the water is clear. Most people skip that step. He knows the wat
But supposedly with the aroma you don’t need to do that. It cooks your rice to perfectooon
I love this well-put together review. Thank you!!
So I can season my chicken and veggies and the season not get on the rice?
It will drop down but that just makes it more yummy I don’t see the problem lol
This was incredibly entertaining to watch, well done-
I have the cheaper Aroma Rice Cooker, that only has one button I press down to start cooking. Would it be possible to cook the chicken with my rice in that?
Should work in any rice cooker with a steaming tray. I also do this in my Cuisinart cooker with the one lever design and it comes out fine.
Nice to see!
For diabetics, watch out. When cooking rice with a steamer tray in a rice cooker the boiling steam that rises up is full of starch that will cover your meat/vegetables.
That’s why you wash the rice dude
@@eethannn, washing is not enough. You need a diet rice cooker, not just a regular rice cooker.
@@leisurecomments8176 no duh but Atleast you take out some of the starch out
Helpful. Thank you.

ooo this looks very tasty! nicely done 👍🏻 i have this same rice cooker, and i didn’t know it could cook chicken!
Thanks! You can cook chicken fine, but be sure to use thin strips. Avoid whole pieces!
@@CounterClutter what about cooking just chicken using the slow cook button?
@@peachy_reina 😅 there is no slow cooker option maby u have a diffrent one cause this one dont have that option

Try one cup
No seasoning to add flavor to the rice?

Can you put frozen vegetables in there??
Yes. Frozen carrots did come out a bit mushy for me though once.
You are genius man!!! Thank you.

Does this also work for brown rice?
nice...!
Wow you do both together? I just got the cheap one that had a steamer for the same meal, but wasn’t sure if I could do both at the same time
Thank’s for your video 👍
hey is there a chicken to steam time ratio? like how many oz was that of chicken you cooked in 30 min?
Sorry for the late reply, there is no guidance of cooking ratios in the manual but this was approx. about 8 to 10 oz of chicken cooked for around 25 to 30 minutes. The broccoli steamed cooked for the last 10 minutes
So you put in water to the 3 cup line with 2 cups of rice? Do you need to add more water when steaming at the same time?
What if you put the chicken at the beginning?
I did,...just took it off to get the shot of the water and rice below. The entire cycle is around 30 minutes so be sure to add the chicken right away so it cooks thoroughly.
Counter Clutter thank you oh chosen one
So, both. Rice and chicken for 30 mins?
I have a one button rice cooker but maybe I can make this.
Was that water pre boiled you poored in?
It's not water, it's brothe
It was cold filtered water. Some had concerns that the chicken may not cook all the way. It will just be sure to use strips and allow it to cook for the entire cycle and it will be fine. Don't crowd the steaming tray either... Big pieces of chicken I would avoid.
This works with fish too.
Did you try it?
Next time add some lemon juice in the rice and it will make the rice not stick to each other
looks yummi :)
Can I also put in frozen veggies from the start or?
Wash the frozen veggies first.
No rice cookers with coronavirus every one sold out wtf glad I bought mine like 4 years ago lol 😂
I just got mine on Amazon last week, so there hope now.
This is normal rice cooker ?
it seems to be a pressure cooker.
Yes it is a rice cooker. I have one too
El recipiente de las verduras es muy pequeño 😔
Is that rice???
Is this a serious question?
Nice, but I think you are missing a sauce for the plate and the rice was mushy, so try with less water. But very good recipe, and idea.
Sending support
Can I please have the song?
Search "jazzycats mellow jazz guitar" in audiojungle.net no real specific name. Should be one of the first songs in results
Looks Delicious 😋
The chicken look soooo dry.. but I Guess it’s a healthy version of chicken rice. H/e, think I’ll just eat the rice with the broccoli...lol...
Sorry for the late reply. It dried up while I was setting up the end shots. Usually moist out of the cooker right away but does tend to dry up quickly, thanks for watching though :)
Just throw it all in when you start
How long did this take as a whole??? I’m making this for dinner tonight🙌🏽🙌🏽 what can I add to my rice to not make it so bland???
For 2 cups of rice, add 1 whole tomato on top of the rice, 2 slices of a whole onion, and 1 or 2 garlic cloves whole (to your liking)
