Insane find. Id just like to mention that most of that has quite a lot of collectors value.
The Sony VCRs are expensive due to their high image quality(several hundred each) great for archiving. The huge 1 inch tape recorders especially (the bosch&ex) I know quite a few collectors who’d pay a lot for stuff like this. This is history. Even broken, it’s still very desirable.

Hi Ben. I'm 80 born to parents that danced for a living. Performed on live broadcast TV as a part of the "Ed Sullivan Dancers". Ampex had just developed Video Tape and made a special offer to members of the theatrical community to buy into Ampex stock. My folks weren't technical so didn't buy.

The most interesting thing is to realize how much we have evolved technologically in the last fifty years. Today a simple cell phone has more functions than all this equipment combined.
I'd like to know what you're going to do with all this. If you are going to disassemble and select the components, you will probably need another life lol.

Both of those reel to reel machines (BOSCH and AMPEX) are 1" VTRs (Video Tape Recorder). You already saw all the electronics in that existing rack that go with the BOSCH system, but that 19" black chassis with the cards (but the one in the first slot is missing) is the processing cards for the AMPEX VTR so they both go together. The AMPEX box with ALL the BNC jacks on the back appears to be heart of a video switcher. A console with the fader T bars would have connected to the AMPEX box. This is where you would do all your switching in your studio from cameras to VTRs, to computer systems, etc. The SONY BetaCamSP recorders look awesome! Those are still valuable . You asked why someone would want this stuff and not only collectors would love it but business that convert old recordings to modern digital platforms such as streaming or DVD. Remember, recordings before the 2000s were on tape cause there were no high end digital hard drives readily available for storing video so ever since the invention of video tape in 1956, recording to different forms of video tape (2", 1", U-Matic, BetaCam, DVCPRO, SVHS, etc) were being used to store programs for long term. However, MANY programs have never seen the light of day most their original airing because they are STILL stored on these ancient formats AND there are not nearly as many companys in the world that are doing these conversions so stuff might get lost over time. Not to mention the companies that do these converstions need to stockpile legacy supplies and gear (like above) to continue to function. So if I were you, look around in your country and others and see if you can find any of these conversion companies would would like 1" or BetaCamSP machines and offer them at a discount price cause we are not sure if any of this equipment is in working order. It looked like the "powder stuff" on the BOSCH tape machine reels looked like mold so these machines are going to need some repair before they can be used. Best of luck man! Love your videos!

Can't wait to see inside the rest of that Bosch unit if you end up scrapping it! I've had tapes like that, I think it is just mildew mould. This really was an awesome pick up! 🔥 The only things I recognise there is my brain thinking so many of those components look like boobs😂🙈😬 but that isn't quite what you meant is it🤪

the the boch main broadcast tape will have outputs you could take to a monitor easy most them are fun toys not broadcasting until its your to far from uk lol or i would be at your door buying all the time its all man cave stuff man. all your other tape decks. they go into your master real this is your master of all the shows been sent to the transmitter after your shows have been line up to start adds advents i.e paid for . and the voice, the person that tells you what on next all items run delayed as to sinc them and in national emergency broadcasts at given time your digitalizes etc sends the packets over the FM modulator so you have a full with redundant back up station you will get all the leads to god your jammy man the leads cost a packet to have made up so dont scrap them if your flogging these there the main part to link it all together the systems i used to have was Super vhs decks with with the mixers used them to record from dragon and fast edit into back of my editing computers hope you get to sell a few set ups

@@eWasteBen Well you aren't watching eBay and what 40-50 old hard drives are fetching overseas. That said I only deal in 50 pin SCSI that would have been installed in Apple Macintosh from 1984-maybe late 90's? Unfortunately your video on collecting HDD's showed them all clanging and being scratched up and collectors want them looking like brand new! I buy OEM BNIB and in static bags and used ones that look new. Easily fetching in the thousands now and hundreds even for dead 80's/90's Apple Macintosh rubbish Quantums from 40MB-1,000MB. Mine are stored individually in HDD plastic cases and I've been offered crazy money for the new old stock SCSI. IDE from PC's are worth but a fraction because of well...............PC. Apple only made 5% of the personal computers so their drives all had to be far more expensive SCSI and also much rarer than the PC world of Winblows chunks rubbish from Microsoft.
