(I'm Swiss ahahaah)
Man, the AI in this game were so advanced for the time, rhe fact that they know to go prone when in the open with no cover is astounding. The dev team did such a good job for how small they were and how little resources they had.
I love how you just barge in there and tank the hits. I remember I used to takes half an hour on each level taking them out one by one and exploring. XD I need to pull out my PS2 and rush the levels like this. Haha.
25:36 Its Gramps! 25:50 NOOOOO GRAMPS!!!!! a wwI vet and he ended up taking two of em.... and no, we can't save him. Trust me. I played this game a lot. I even used cheats and rushed killing all the enemies. Grandpa's death is scripted. Which is sad enough as it is
I remember I always wanted to save him, got all the guards, sniped the snipers, tried to get around not the area first.. And that gunshot was always heard. Where does it come from? Who did I forget? This game was where I learned about scripts, especially Yard by Yard: you feel for the civilians, but no matter what you do, they will always behave the same way without any alternative animations. This game was way ahead of its time. I love how they put so much detail to events within levels.
@@SoarinYoshi64 yup. Scripted events are sometimes uncalled for. Reminds me of how in some strategy games where your suppose to lose but you end up with a massive army that the game never* fully anticipates.....making it an endurance run instead.
When I played it enough times (way back when), my trick to save Gramps was to get between him and the gate, nudging him to the corner so that he'd glitch and stay there, perpetually walking into the fence. I'd take out the sniper, check in on him (all good), and finish the mission. That was probably my proudest "hack" of the game!
I've watched several of these videos for nostalgic reasons and what amazes me is it seems NOBODY knows you can take out enemy tanks with the mounted machine guns. Instead they waste grenades on them.
Sum ppl ply wth brnz sum dnt Im also some times ignorant and def was as a shortshorty. but now I go in all intellectual, mastering the mission whatever war(game lol) on highest difficulty like some godgeneral... lmfao gaming is tha shit
One can clearly see the Influence THIS (its the roots (with Quake-Engine) had on CALL OF DUTY. THIS IS CALL OF DUTY. THE REAL ORIGINAL ONE. PURE SKILL. MAN. GUN. HONOR. BRAVERY. AIM. MOVEMENT. BRAIN... REALNESS...
One funny glitch on the Nijmegen bridge level: if you reach the top of the bridge and shoot the sniper that is scripted to plummet to his death, he’ll still fall but land centimeters off the ground, splayed out but still alive and blinking but invincible. You can still melee and shoot him but he won’t die or disappear.
Oh this is my favorite mission, love to snipe. Thanks again for the post. I have 2 PS@ games that are as fun as this is: RED FACTION and AREA-51, just in case u would like to play old games here and there
! Little Tip for the homies appreciating quality game-art ! A underrated game that comes to my mind now, and which had me remembering at This very mission when I played it (played it 2 times, it's that good actually), is "The Saboteur". Cop it for a few bucks. Trust me. They even didn't had full support etc. and still made such a game. Man, if Pandemic Studios only kept on... W/E, be good n' upright n' brave - enjoy life - play life - enjoy da gameZ ! peeeaceee

Medal of Honor logic:
Bullet to the face? Walk it off
Pistol whip
*fatality*
Rather UNREALISTIC FUN
than REAListic WAR...
remember.
its essential.
Yeah and my personal favorite, shot gun blast from 8-10 feet away, not a problem!! Grr!!! LOL

"please don't shoot" German soldier.*jumps off bridge to his death*
I initially thought my game didn't render the rope he was secured to...but then I saw the body...
"Americans good.... Apple pie!"
This brings back so many feels!
Hearing the MG firing was so good too
Such a good game. This used to be one of the only games that I had. I definitely got my money's worth out of it.

Not to mention your allies actually tried to kill what was in front of them rather than give you the illusion of combat.
Man’s is playing the greatest FPS game as if he were there. Good gameplay.
My personal favourite level (Yard by Yard), although I wouldn't be surprised if most peoples favourite was Arnhem Knights!
Both were awesome levels.
Hated Arnhem Knights personally. But LOVED rough landing
Operation Repunzel takes the cake as best mission. Arnhem Knights and Yard by Yard were fun too.
I love all of em tbh. Amazing game

Classic game. I watched A Bridge Too Far recently and I could not stop thinking about this game and some MOH game on PSP
I love how you just barge in there and tank the hits. I remember I used to takes half an hour on each level taking them out one by one and exploring. XD

Nijmegen bridge was always my second favorite mission in the game, the first one being Operation Rapunzel

Have to admit that, but the first Call of Duty games were pretty good too

Miller did it with a few shots of his officer .45.
I've even given that a shot and it worked, oddly enough. I even wondered how BULLETS can destroy a whole armored vehicle such as a TANK.
I miss this game like crazy

Hardest missions in the game are arnhem knights & under the radar (:
on track is pretty hard

AFGuidesHD no the hardest miision is the final mission of MOH frontline
AFGuidesHD YES! Took me forever to beat on hard.
Syahmalik_26 Naaah. On Track is still harder because you don't have near as many health packs and it's much longer than the final mission.
