Does anyone else remember playing this when you were younger and thinking it looked so realistic?
CarlosEV13 No
CarlosEV13 me
CarlosEV13 good old PS2 days
CarlosEV13 it was a good game tho I ain't gone lie.I do miss the old medal of honour games.this was my first moh
Me! This was top of the line stuff back then
“Oh god, we’ve lost the Arizona!”
“God help em. This can’t be happening.”
Those words made me feel uneasy as a kid and still does to this day
Solo Mofo Same here. That and, “Ah, damn it! Oklahoma’s goin’ belly up!”
I litterally think about it anytime I see or here the word arizona
I literally cried when I saw
I always used to get pissed off after seeing the Arizona get hit and would say the equivalent of 'You god damn bastards!" in child speak.
Agreed solider
Ow my childhood, i probably beat this and frontline about 20 times. Best years of my life
Oh man frontline was great but nowhere near as good as rising sun.
CoD Finest Hour, CoD 2 Big Red One, Frontline, Rising Sun... all my childhood... all on GameCube
amen
@@nicholasanderson8155 I liked Frontline better.
Ikr? I miss medal of honor games like that, such brilliant campaigns
Playing this game on split screen with a friend, some of the best times of my life as a child.
Yes and then being chaseed by the japanese with a sword while the other player just stood and looked hahaha
@@DKBastiansTwitch yes omgggg
@@DKBastiansTwitch This literally happened to my sister during that one level where you had to attack the base containing the Yamashita treasure.. there was this one bald Japanese soldier practicing martial arts and when we approached he ninja jumped to his feet and charged at my dumbfounded sister with a katana lmaoo
Also, you guys remember the giant golden buddha statue?
23:27
I remember getting to this part as a dumb kid and never progressing through the campaign further because I didn't know what to do next.
Then I just fiddled around a bunch in multiplayer with the AI.
Good times.
same here
i'm glad that was a universal experience lmao
Failures, the lot of you.
It took me months to figure it out lol
Feels like you’re describing a dream I had...I still get anxious thinking about the HOURS I spent trying to figure out what to do lol
this game need remastered
like if im correct
Don't think that's likely. If I remember correctly the game did not sell that well.
That's unfortunate but for a few folks like me, we be more than happy for it to be on Steam/PC and current consoles.
Medal of honor pacific assault
Not likely to see a remaster like other people said but Microsoft may give it backwards compatibility if EA gives the O.K. and they are able to make it happen on the technical side.
Esscom 02 that’d be amazing.
good old days man
This level was very well done. The skies look filled with Japanese Fighter Planes. If only this whole level was actually remastered as of now. That would literally make this battle very beautiful in HD graphics.
I think the word you are looking for is terrifying not beautiful. Why would a war be beautiful especially on the day of infamy
@@LuckoDaStars it would look beautiful in the way it’s projected to us
Agreed they need to remaster this game
@@LuckoDaStars Calm down hero... He's talking about a game
@@brunovaldez7986 I know. I'm just stating.
11:57: RIP, USS Arizona (19 June 1915 to 7 December 1941)
Best comment ive seen today.
That part horrified me as a kid (still does today).
Matthew Tencza I just made a comment saying the same exact thing. To think, you and I felt this way over a video game. Imagine being there for the real thing.
Over thousand people died in the explosion and the sinking of the think. God bless...
You are an Ace Combat fan... that’s makes both of us. I love Medal of Honor and Ace Combat
14:30 Gunny's words... Hits ya right in the feels every time
Alec Duquette facts
I remember this game getting me interested in history. I was only about 8 years old and started doing brilliantly at school in history because I found this game so interesting.
It may sound stupid, but that’s what video games can do for kids sometimes
Same my guy
A little older and my story was the same. I loved this game series
The music playing in the background when you're shooting the planes and torpedoes on deck is so breathtaking. It really captures what it must of been like for these brave soldiers to be woken up to a surprise attack and see all the chaos just happening around them.
No your breathtaking
Wouldn't mind a remaster of this game :D
Neither would I.
“Time to earn your pay, Marine!” The way they edited that and slowed it down always made my kid self get chills.
Where is this at?
@@bvailcards44 Just as you come up the ladder onto the main deck and Gunny is there waiting with a shotgun to give you.
@@chasetoy1087 I played this game as a kid and could never figure out what the heck he said. Thank you!
Oh I always thought he said “now knock down those planes marine” but “time to earn your pay marine” sounds so much better and I hear that now
I remember this being SUPER hard as a kid. Looking at it now, it seems so easy
Watching this on Dec. 7th 2018. A day truly that will always be remembered in infamy.
Yah
Every Medal of Honor should have an remake, I really wanted to play this game on split screen again
This game had some fun cheat codes. One of them was called “Rubber Grenades” it was were the grenades had the physics of a rubber ball and you could bounce them around anywhere
For a PS2 game, the music is exceptional.
I played this on a gamecube
Same goes for Moh Frontline
Music is always great for Medal of Honor games
Many games has great music in PS2 back then
11:53 ill never forget that sound
Me 2 m8
"Oh my god, we've lost the Arizona!" "God help her"
Thia game brings back so many childhood memories, me & my uncle played the shit outta this game, beating it on the hardest difficulty, finding every document & totally immersed in the realism & pure story telling. This game was way ahead of its time &it pains me to see cod ww2...such a disgrace to gems like this. when... when will ps4 get another gem of a shooter like thus one?
12:19 that shot will always have a place in my heart :(
This made me smile so hard so nostalgic omg I'm so happy I feel like an 80 year old seeing something so amazing again since I was a child especially the Philippines mission although I never understood the story until now I loved the gameplay and missions and visuals that stuck out to me this is absolutely amazing I feel like crying holy crap
best world war II game ever created. Makes COD look like a joke.
Mystery Man If you compare these 2 world war 2 games series (MOH to COD) COD is better in almost every ways
@@thecutiereaper5252 I don't think you have actually played these games. They give history lessons after every mission and and are based on true events cod is just a run and gun with little to no factual evidence but to each their own.
"I don't think you have actually played these games." I love to play MOH like I love to play COD and I ended this game for 5-6 time so can I say more?
"They give history lessons after every mission and and are based on true events cod is just a run and gun with little to no factual evidence but to each their own." Now I don't think you have actually played any WW2 CODs, all WW2 CODs were based on true event of WW2 I can learn history of WW2 such as D-day, Invasion of Normandy, Battle of Stalingrad, Pacific War, Battle of Berlin, Operation Torch and more and its feel more realistic than MOH because almost everytimes you go to the battlefield with your few or many Brother in arms some of them are memorable and you have an actual relationship with them unlike MOH that almost of time you are one man army go to the battlefield alone and kill the 100 of enemies who tried to obstruct you for succeed your mission
sorry for bad english
Now it's not some of the first cod's were classics
"I don't think you have actually played these games." kid
Split screen multiplayer with my neighborhood friend on this was fantastic. I probably replayed that first mission hundreds of times. I was only 5 or 6. This game has a special place in my heart being my first FPS.
of all the MoH theme songs, the one on this game was probably the most epic
This game got me into FPS.. the memories I have for this are undescribable..
I still owned this on the Playstation 2 great times
Does ANYONE know the backround music at 1:46 ? I've been trying to figure this out since I was a kid but NEVER figured it out
I’ve been trying to find out the EXACT same thing, glad I’m not the only one! What is that music???
Same here, could never figure whether it was background music of the game, or supposed to be a vinyl record playing in another room in the boat. Real creepy. Anyone know?
@@SIRKlLLALOT It's hard to find out because it's probably muffled in purpose to give a more creepy feel, doesn't help that it's also looped into just 1 portion of the song.
I'm commenting just in case anyone else finds out, I've wanted to know it since I was a kid too
@@munat3413 same
I always believed this was the best way to learn history
The nostalgia. I remember playing this on my brothers ps2 and having no idea what I was doing but i remember this so vividly.
i remember there was always one enemy left and i couldn't find it and the music wouldn't stop playing
11:36 Imaginate esa escena con los graficos de hoy en dia... seria tan hermoso e impactante solo imaginarlo
Imagina un remake ufff seria genial.
It took me an hour to find these specific levels and u had them both in one video. Thank you!
this game really captured that WW2 theme, most other games have failed to give me the same experiences i got from this one
I got this game and Lord of the rings return of the king for Christmas for my ps2. Good times 😄😄
This game got into gaming heavy. I loved Nintendo 64s and stuff but these Medal of Honor games me love FPS. I grew up on MOH vanguard, airborne, rising sun. I miss those gaming days dude.
I was addicted to this game when I was younger. The memories.
My shildhood game
I'm from Philippines and I enjoyed the defending the place
Now I'm 15 I'm enjoying anime
Ironic
This deserves so many likes
Incredible testimony
God that profile picture had me laughing!

I'll always remember going up the stairs, seeing the sailor get shot down by Japanese Zeros, getting topside, and seeing the scale of the map and the attack as a kid. Having the sergeant hand you a BAR and screaming "Snap out of it! Snap out of it!" Medal of Honor used to be a work of art. This was also one of the first FPS games I saw that didn't glorify war and made you actually stop to think about the actual events of what was portrayed in the game. At the end of the level, you and your buddy are celebrating for living through the attack, only for the sergeant to scold you and make you look at the carnage of the battle while he says "I hope NONE of you ever see a day like this again."
Medal of Honor helped me get really into learning about WWII and history in general.
I absolutely loved this game, me and my dad use to play this when i was young. I really hope games like these get to see a remaster
Who else played this on their ps5 when they were a little kid ?
XBOX for me
Ps5? Dude are you from the future?
Gamecube for me
bro are you from a different timeline?
After watching this and being stationed in Hawaii, and visiting the memorials, the intensity of this opening sequence pails in comparison to what I’m sure as literal hell on earth for those stationed out there during that time. I think this and Frontlines D-day opening are the best intros to all of the MOH games.
Had a personal connection to the opening mission . My great grandfather was there and he made sure to tell us about that horrendous day, he told us that he knew something was very wrong the second he saw the big red meatball on the side of those planes. He told us how he couldnt understand the Japanese pilots smiling and waiving while strafing them . Told us about the aftermath being told to pick up body parts and how he could still smell the burnt flesh of his brothers. I was no older than 5 when he told me about this and it's never left. I realize why he told us about it. He was invited after the war to Washington and pearl for the survivor ceremonies but he only went once. It was simply too much for him to relive . It took a toll on him like the rest who survived. Unfortunately for him his war didn't end there he zig zagged around the Pacific dodging kamikaze planes and sharks when the ship he was on was sunken later on in the war.
Ugh! LOVED THIS GAME! Brought my childhood self to tears
I watched my brother play this when I was 4 and sometimes even play it
Soon I got very good at the game that u can beat levels faster than my brother
I am 14 now and I can barly remember all of this I can remember the first 3-6 missions its been so long
Tnx 4 reading this
I remember when I was younger I always used to play this game. This video brings back so many memories. I miss this game soo soo much.
Buy a ps2. They're pretty cheap now. And a copy of MoH will be easy to get
if they remastered this game i would poop my pants
YourAverageGreg XD
Lol
Have not seen footy of this since I played it in 2003. Insane memories right now, I remember a lot of these scenes. Cant wait to watch the full playthrough.
I loved this game when i was younger than i am now. I am 12 soon and in 2012 when i was like 5/6 years old, i played this and i loved it. It's pretty unusual
for an age like me thinking about these older underrated games.
This game needs to be remastered
This game was my favorite one and taught me all about the Pacific theater
I remember as a kid coming home from school and visiting the video shop and renting this and Tony hawk's underground. Played it for the entire weekend
I have been looking for this game for years. Can’t believe this games graphics were that good. Way ahead of its time
14:20 if you turn the turret around right at the end you will see 2 P40 warhawks this a reference to the Michael Bay pearl Harbor film from 2001
Yeah two us piolts actually got into the air on Dec 7th and shot down 6 Japanese planes
Remember when games showed actual historic pictures and vids of war learned so much from it as a kid glad I grew up to play games like this
My step dad bought me this game when it first came out. We would sit in the living room and he would watch me play this game and COD. He loved to watch me play war games. Looking back that’s really sweet of him and some of my favorite memories
Remember playing this all the time in 2005. First Medal of Honor game I ever owned
Good job on depicting Arizona's destruction, it was on point!
When I was like 7 this was the only fps I was allowed to play and I thought it was unbelievably realistic. Looks way different from what I remember. Had no idea how to actually play in retrospect, but it was a lot of fun. Definitely will have to play it again someday
This was one of my favourite games, nostalgia so strong
Best game in PS2 history, love this game.
Played this with my big cousin years ago probably a decade or a bit less or more. Me and him played this over 100 times and only done the first 2 missions. Unfortunately my cousins been inside the last 8 years but this brings some memories
Man, nostalgic game. Being younger and play that game makes parts of my heart
This and frontline were my favorites from the Medal of Honor franchise.
This was one of the first games I ever played. It’s really cool to see it again.
Gggmanlives, DWTerminator, and other reviewers who bashed the game (A.K.A PC fanboys) can go heck themselves. To me, Rising Sun is the best Medal of Honor game ever made. It's got everything! Old-school gameplay, exploration, cheats, challenge, a stealth mission where you steal a uniform and wear it just like in previous MoH games, no hand holding, 2 Player Co-Op, multiplayer VS, and AI bots in the multiplayer. Also, you ride an Elephant in the campaign mode. Such an underrated Medal of Honor game. Graphics shouldn't matter at all, I mean come on. I'm sick and tired of seeing comments talking about how a game looks and such. If someone doesn't like the game, that's their opinion, but they shouldn't go saying that nobody should play it.
Thanks for uploading this, so nostalgic.
Man how this game, and cod 2&3 have so many good memories
I still remember this when i played split screen with my brother, American and British vs Japanese
Totally forgot about the split screen part, I had a lot of fun with that.
31:55 fun fact: in that area there's this huge golden idol that you break open boxes to find like Russian dolls. And you can pick it up you get an achievement
Been thinking about getting a ps2 and re playing this game with a buddy of mine. takes me back so much
Sou apaixonado por esses jogos Q relatam os acontecimentos do passado da 1 e a 2 guerra mundial 🎮♥️...
Imagine this game getting remastered with today's graphics. I think I would cry. This game was the very first-person shooter I have ever played and I'd do anything to replay it.
I remember playing this game as a kid and after playing the levels of the two brothers, the game was "cattle-branded" into my brain ever since.
I remember playing the split screen campaign with my older brother, some of the best memories
Eu amo esse jogo medal of honor rising Sun
Só lembranças desse jogo e muitas saudades desse maravilhoso jogo # segunda guerra mundial # medal of honor rising Sun saudades 😭😭😭❤️❤️👍👍
I remember playing this game and being in complete disbelief that my great grandfather lived through pearl harbor and survived even fought through the rest of the campaign in the Pacific
Man i grew up with this game played it so much with a friend aswell :') such good times This medal of honor no this game has a speacial place in my heart
I loved this mission and what a way to introduce the game 💙
Só lembranças e saudades desse jogo que eu jogava na minha infância
This was one of my favorite games and the best Medal of Honor, I loved it! Its a shame its not on ps3 or ps4 or remastered
Fantastic soundtrack as usual when it comes to MoH, and what an introduction! I loved the campaign and the PS2 Net Play ! Early console online multiplayer days
I never knew you could shoot at the incoming missiles! Great idea, I need to see if I can play this awesome game again.
que recuerdos y nostalgia trae esta gran saga de juegos y espero la salida del medal of honor 2020
The memories, I would love to replay this game
me and my coworker were talking about video games and since he’s 23 and I’m only 16 he was talking about this and the old Call of Duty games and I was talking about the more recent ones. He told me to check this one out and so I felt the need to watch some gameplay😂
Yeah it's honestly crazy, a couple of years makes a huge difference in gaming
I remember this game I played it on the PlayStation 2
Sandman Films me too. This brings back so many memories!
this was the first video game I tried to play by myself. I had no idea what I was doing but it was so amazing.
Oh man, the nostalgia, the memories. I'm so glad I still have this game and PS2 but not an old TV because I can't play this on my HDTV. :(
Get a ps2 compatible ps3 and you can play it again on that. This was one of my favourites years ago too. Just wish I could find the old memory card for it.
Love the game, loved the muisc and loved the graphics. Rising Sun and frontline deffo where two of the best shooting games on ps2, just wish they could remake these. Another franchise which is Irrelevant to this vid is the original call of duty Games on ps2. Cod 1 to 3 was fantastic. Hopefully one day we can play these once again on a future console.
THIS TAKE ME BACK
BEFORE HALO
G MAN AWESOME same here
Yep but still halo ce was down right AWSOME
Remember playing this game with my dad the great times :D
I remember playing this game as a kid and it trips me out it still looks the same but still holds up till today. I would play this again if I could on the ps5.
This is a pretty old game for me & I will always remember the times of me getting wrecked by my brother.
Still, a really fun game.
some good times man .. i remember playing this almost everyday .. wouldnt mind playing it now sadly i broke the disk years ago :(
The music, the dialog, the game play
...
More emotional and gripping than any movie...
This. Game. Needs. And. Deserves. A. Remaster. Treatment. DAMN. IT.
this game need to be remastered i remember when i was young and this was best game i ever played it looked so realistic :/ i love first mission from this game damn old good days.
Anyone know what that music in the background in the air craft carrier is at the start it's really strange
My dad has this game on his old xbox and I have played it a few times. It is such a difference in graphics compared to todays games.
its sad to say that this was one of the most realistic depictions per se of the attack in any game of its time. The only issue is the flak when you finally reach 01 deck on the bear. The only capital ships that managed to get a considerable amount of AA fire up was the Maryland, Tennessee, Arizona (for a brief time) and Nevada.
It's one of the most realistic because there's not many depictions to choose from in games - period. lol
