Just found out about this page and just bought my grandpas 1983 Chevy 6.2 diesel it’s been sitting for about 10 years and transmission is messed up but can’t wait to fully get it restored love this page and how toos 💯
Hope this project is going well! So many old trucks that get bought as a project after sitting for years wind up just sitting again and continue to rust away! We gotta keep these old trucks/cars going otherwise they will turn into scrap or another rust bucket!!! -1987 f150 straight 6 single cab-
There's an easy way to do the bolt holes. Put the bolts in before you put anything on the floor. Then as you're laying the deadener/carpet in, push it down over the bolt head and cut it. It's a bit of an extra step, but it saves time hunting around for the right spot.
Nice job. This guys is the hardest working guy I've seen in a long time. Now I know why you hire somone else to do the interior. To much pain in the neck for an amateur
@@SquarebodyLife183 I wasn't trying to be rude... they made from from 92 known as the full size blazer moved them over to the Tahoe badge in 94 stop making them in 99. I traded mine with 275k for a 02 silverado with 92k on it. And I miss it.
@@MrFameone206 dang. It looks like a cool car tho. I’ve always been a fan of Chevy. In fact, I’ve got a 1986 Chevy c20 Silverado and I’ve been slowly working on it. Hopefully I can get it running for when I’m 15
Installation Question: Purchased 3 items - 1) EVA Sound Deadener Kit, 2) Heat Shield Kit, 3) Industrial Polyvinyl Floor Mats. Does the tar like item go down 1st? Then the fiberous material with foil side up second? Obviously, last would be the Floor Mats.
You give the best instructual videos, but you neglected to mention that the custom deluxe, other wise known as the base model, doesn't come with kick panels. I almost drove myself crazy and wasted 1/2 a day on the internet trying to figure out why I would have to spend $80 to $100 to put carpet back in my truck like you did. Until I found a guy putting carpet in his shop truck A custom deluxe without kick panels. Please remember those of us with base models in your awesome videos. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I am installing into a 96 F250 std cab. My carpet is about 18-20" long from front to back. Is this normal? I have rechecked part numbers and the ordered number is correct. Are these trim to fit to that degree. Your's is almost perfect size.
I restored my 87 with all LMC parts everything was good but when it came time for the door panels they just didn't cut it. Rubber was just to flimsy got ones in eBay that are super nice. no hate just a little advice.
I have a question thats got nothing to do with this video, I have a 82 C10. I had a 350 with 425 hp it has a holley 750 dp turbo 350 trans , I do t feel like iam getting all the hp out of the motor, I haven't done anything with the rear-end , just feel like I should be getting more out of it , any suggestions?
did it bother anyone else when he started to reattach the panels with a drill and was rounding the heads off the screws lol I think a screw driver would of been the proper tool for this application.
Do you guys do repairs like this over there? Like, if i were to bring my truck to ur location, could u guys re-do my interior. my floor pan and carpet?
My truck did the same thing. If I didn't manually feed the belt back in, it would always just chill and bang and clang around. I made a point to tell passengers about it and they would still close the door on the seatbeat buckle.
I'm not totally sure what you're asking? I was talking about what the belt did at 8:08. The feed things sometimes doesn't feed. I don't know the words for it as I haven't thought about it for awhile. But some people get into vehicles and just slam their doors and if the feed does that the seat belt can get caught between the door and its final seated position. It can damage the seatbelt buckle, the metal frame spot next to the door jam. But I mostly told them about it so if they slammed the door it wouldn't make the fucking God awful clack that it makes when you do it. I can feel it in my teeth and it pisses me off.
@@Yardbuiltracing Yeah, it all comes apart so easy with this guy. Up here in the northeast, you start every square body project with a box of band aids, a bottle of Jack Daniel's and the infamous death wheels. Lol
This job is a gd nightmare. The padding doesn’t conform to the contours of the floorboard and getting the bench seat bolts back in is next to impossible. I put down asphalt sound deadening, jute and the carpet. They don’t tell you the carpet includes jute so now the bolts are too short. It is also a nightmare getting the bolts through the insulation.
was doing my interior and realised how screwed i am. i got a hole in my passenger side and rust in the driver side. i need my floor pan redone. im screwed its sitting for abit :/

Their viewership has definitely increased with Kevin hosting the videos. Thanks LMC! Nice job Kevin!!

Always like watching Kevin's instructional videos, just the time this video will save you finding all the screw holes is well worth it.

I wish Kevin Tetz would start working on trucks on a free online show again.
Nice job on the sound barrier and carpet installation 👍🏼👍🏼
I love the sound of the screw head stripping when someone installs interior screws with a cordless drill...
Robert Craft cordless drills are way better
That would be an impact driver. Not screw heads stripping.
i really like watching this type of videos from lmc truck
Nathan Bennett yeah
Thanks, Kevin T.
You always make stuff look easy. I just hope that mine turns out as good as yours looks.

No glue or anything for the carpet? How does it stay in place?
Is the carpet all precut per cab/truck model?

Yes, you can request for a paper catalog be to be mailed out to you at www.lmctruck.com
How about some part numbers?
I have an 83 c15.
How do you keep the carpet from sliding around? The old carpet had really thick padding glued to it that made it stay in place

Gotta say was a little disappointed last week, when I called LMC CS for advise on carpet options, didn’t feel comfortable ordering.

You're gonna snap off at least two of the seat bolts. How do I know this.
