For anyone looking for a fix, I saw this in the comments on another video.
You need to put your keys in the ignition and turn it to the accessory position. Turn your high beams on five times (pulling the wand towards you) then pump the breaks three times. Your battery signal on the dash will flash some time after 20 seconds to 1 minute indicating the BMS (brake management system) has reset. This system monitors the voltage of your battery but cannot tell the difference between a new/old battery and needs to be reset after replacing a battery each time. I had this same issue (with a new battery) and I no longer receive this message.

Same problem with my Edge 2014
I guess I will have to take it to the dealer and find out what's going on
Funny thing the Manual Book doesn't say anything about Battery.

You need a new battery. I own a 2018 ford edge. It used to do the same to me. Especially during the winter. A fully charged battery will give a 12.6v reading. Anything below12V will show that message on the radio. I hope this helps

if you have a 2011 ford edge with a BSM monitor system batt light comes on traction control acts up and all types of problem and you change your bsm sensor and it didn't fix the problem system here is what i did to fix it on your negative battery cable where your bsm sensor is theirs two negative cables the one that is mounted by the strut tower take it apart and clean it make sure to get to some metal wiggle your pcm connectors that cable is your accessory ground the one that go's under the batt tray is for your starter and other things if you want remove the tray and wiggle those wires if you do those things i think youll solve your problem my name is sam 40 + year auto tech and i do have a scanner the deal probably kill you good luck

Same thing occurred over the weekend on my 2013 Ford Edge. From checking other posts on the web it sounds like the 12V battery needs to be replaced.

Tom Metzler I got a brand new battery and this message is coming up. I replaced the battery because the old one died after the accessories was in for like 40mins. New battery works great but this message still appears.

Yeah so many complaints about the Ford battery monitoring system now. The computer system is very hard on batteries when you shut off your vehicle for about the next 15 to 30 minutes. For some reason the system seems to pull a lot of juice from the battery before it shuts down so alot of short trips around town seems to decrease the battery life over all.

From 2013 -2018 Ford Edge all of them need A AGM battery with no less than 128.9 minutes reserve. If you do not you'll have all kinds of weird things start to happen with these vehicles. Ford has not acted yet! All computers Iphones, laptops PC's will do the same with a weak reserve time charging and or batteries All. The Ford Motor Company will not listen and yet I'm asked how do I solve these problems? LOL how stupid some PhD's came become without hands on experience..
