I am far from America, and I am now fifty years old. My nationality is Moroccan. I have loved his songs and the way he plays the guitar since I was twenty years old. He is truly a serious and honest person in his own style. A man who does not like appearance and fame, and here his talent appears, even though I do not know him personally. We missed you very much, great artist. jj cale. Sorry for my English
The most underrated song writer/guitar player ever to come out of America. His guitar playing influenced the likes of Mark Knopfler and post 80s Clapton. His songs Cocaine, After Midnight, Call me the Breeze are iconic. His death is a huge loss to music.
People love his songs. He is not underrarted because guitar supremo Eric Clapton himself is his fan. He is gentle, simple, but gives great melodious songs.
I have been listening to JJ Cale since 1972 till now and will keep on listening to my number one singer songwriter. He is gone but his music lives on ❤
Been around music all my life, and when i get jaded i just put on this to realise why i got involved. Its got to be one of the best pieces of musicianship EVER.
A Soul huggin´piece of Music. Love it soooo much. It´s the track I need to listen to first when I come home after a stressy day to cool me down. It´s like medicine for me. Thank you for your wonderful music JJ. R.I.P.
I'm a fan of JJ Cale, but since you're talking about melancholy in an instrumental, try this, Vangelis, he can make one cry in only a few notes .... Unbelievable. No other like Vangelis ... th-cam.com/video/UdPOCQGYwrk/w-d-xo.html
Probably the most underrated musician alive; JJ Cale has the total respect of no less a guitar legend than Eric Clapton (i.e., "God"). Listening to this masterpiece instrumental is a pure delight. Thank you for posting this one.
Just like my ancestral line to Lowell Mason. What God does touch to give is so beautiful, so, so beautiful. Everyone must understand the the guitar is speaking through their soul and it indeed gets revealed.
Been a fan ever since I heard 'Crazy Mama' 30+years ago. Used to tout him to everyone who would listen - now at least a few people get his contribution.
So evocative. Would be great as soundtrack music for a road movie in the American Southwest, or an old Clint Eastwood Western. But it's just as good to let the music take me wherever...
I still can"t play thro" this without my tears falling onto my drums,,,,Sometimes wished our guitarist had never heard this,,, I"m off for a Jack Daniels,,,
This gorgeous melody is an epiphany. Check out the intro solo on "After Midnight" live at Clapton's Crossroads Festival. Watch Clapton and JJ's lovely Christine Lakeland look up at heaven (my interpretation) transported by Cale's magic. It's beyond music.
ahhh the memories of high school where we all learned how to get high....the high jump in sports was the best or skipping school and getting stuck in the swamp out back waiting to get on the 5 oclock bus ..guess we learned a lesson on that one
Out of interest, if High School is an unreleased track, what's the source of what we are hearing here and more importantly can we find it anywhere else to be able to listen to it on other media? Many thanks.
Hook up your computer sound to an old bigbox tapeplayer and run the feed through the stereo and tape it. Go to wrecking yard, buy old tape dek. pay guy to install and you can have the voice of the internet on tape in the car. Old school works for me

That's a lovely comment
JJ was really the coolest guy to ever grace a stage.... RIP
JJ Cale, medicine for greater days
This instrumental really is magic. I prefer this over flashy guitar playing. It has real soul. What a great musician.
Il y a quand même des génies sur terre .....
Can't believe my ears..this must be how heaven sounds.
Man.....this dude just goes straight to the heart !
Right when you need it the most ♥
JJC ~ One of the best ever - period!
My favorite artist, considering all his body of work, as well as his persona.

Only underated by people who know little.
noobi core how can his music be lost...all we have to do is listen..it doesn’t ever have to leave..again..if we just listen..❤️❤️🇨🇦
@@saginawdan that is because he did not want to sign those lucrative contracts and have his freedom taken away by the BIG MUSIC MACHINE.
Post 80s Clapton? Clapton had a huge hit with After Midnight in the early 70s........?
This tune is just great. Thanks for posting. Love it.
If you love music this is heaven...he was part of my life from 18 to now...30 years later and his music is still relevant...
I was lucky to see him twice. He had a very low-key persona played absolutely impeccable one of the best Richard, wake county California.
Possibly the prettiest instrumental ever
Pure genius. will always miss you, JJC

Clapton ain’t no God, JJ on the other hand ..
So gracefull...i wish Mark will continue his legasy into the 21st century.

Just the smoothest, most soothing instrumental imaginable. Took me a while to find the title, but it was well worth the trouble. Thanks ♥

New guitarist here...Any idea what key this is in? Seems like it may be in a different tuning as well.
Out of interest, if High School is an unreleased track, what's the source of what we are hearing here and more importantly can we find it anywhere else to be able to listen to it on other media? Many thanks.
It's included in the 'Bonus Material' of the superb Kick Film-produced documentary DVD 'To Tulsa & Back - On Tour With JJ Cale'. Well worth buying.
Don't think it's available on any other media, such as mp3, though. Shame, as it would be great in the car.
