"Know my name! Know I mean it! It's not as bad as it seems -- and we try in our own ways to get better, even if we're alone." Absolutely perfect. Perfect. You're telling your story, but you're telling mine too. Thank you.
This guy is incredible. I saw Strand of Oaks play a benefit show last weekend and it was awesome. The guy is like some sort of motivational Rock n Roll speaker. So much positive energy. I would of stormed a fortified castle with SOA if they asked me to.
Man, I am a fan of this band all of a sudden! Funny how I never heard of them till I saw them at a truck stop heading to a show! Life is funny that way!
i’m a shut in/agoraphobe. have been since about 2011. this song has been my anthem for the near-decade it’s been out. i wish this song didn’t resonate with me anymore. i wish i didn’t relate to it so much. but regardless i’m glad to have it.
***** I see what you mean. I think in this particular video, though, his mouth didn't sync up with the vocals mostly because he was singing them as if he was talking in response to the interviewer. There's lots of artist that actually do perform their music in videos, even though the pre-recorded audio is used for the actual sound-tracking. It is a bit jarring, though, watching a video and watching an artist Milli Vanilli their way through their own song.
Met the drummer last night after checking them into hotel and he said they just did a show. i decided 2 check em out and I think I just found my favorite song! Hate I didn't know they were a band at check in I would have gotten a pic with Tim Showalter
how many Mumford and Sons songs have you heard that have electric guitar solos like the one at the end of this song? not sure if you're trolling or not.

This song made me realize that I might be going through a hard time right now.
not many songs rip at my soul anymore...like this one.

Wow. What a great video & song.
Astonishing. Nothing else to say.

i guess all it took was an "outside" perspective to open up and to see the light of the matter. may he see more fresh waters in a bright future.
I'm jumping on this bandwagon, for sure!
Sometimes words are hard to say, sometimes words are hard to hear.
Love you, Tim.

No nothing to do with Fleet Foxes. Much better than them. :)
I don't know what "wen tot coolgeg" means, but you might be thinking of Father John Misty.
Great song, great video! If you like this song check out "The Runaway" by Regret the Hour!
Christian Hand Man Vs. Radio brought me here.
the end of this song is very "roger waters".
I have to say, I love this song, but it would be nice if there's no music in this video, just a conversation. There's an interesting premise here.
Ланачка молодец,умеет выискивать ,целую бездельницу!

+Cameron Clarke you think this song sounds like Mumford and Sons? really?
+Mister Hoodrich like momford covering a bruce spring steen song

Bad post alert.
I really want to like this band, but it's hard to get past that overdone typical hipster look.
So you can't enjoy the music because of how he looks? That's some ridiculous shit, man.
Hipster? He looks like a fucking hobo/heavy-metal fan.
Says the guy with a vintage bike avatar
greatleapforwards nah, because I didn't even see it.
