Imagine a dev saying to wait to buy his game instead of paying full price... Somewhere an AAA exec is having a heart attack after learning about it
If it's an Ubisoft exec, then it's the premium Quadruple A exec.
AAA costs so much money though that if the game doesnt sells the studio shuts down.
@@arkgaharandan5881 Palworld, Hades, or even Minecraft, the most sold game of all times, didn't cost the GDP of a small nation to make...
When the devs said to wait til discount, much appreciated!
Yeah, much respect for that.
Sort of thing that gets a game Wishlisted. Thanks, devs!
cough.. wait till Friday... cough.. I was never here.
@@falconeerdev you forgot to wave your hand.
it doesn't work unless you wave your hand.
@@vforwombat9915 this isn't the game you are looking for.
The dev for Bulwark is a really decent guy from what I've seen.
Also imagine most developers saying hey wait to buy my game its going on sell. Most wouldn't, but he did. Seems like a stand up guy too me.
Wow it is so cool to see how much this game has evolved, used to be a play tester back on the first closed beta and this looks so good now. Excited to check out all the new additions!
That was actually nice of the developer to expressly state that they'd like you to mention waiting for the sale.
This game is fracking gorgeous, the things you can build just look so pleasing.
Love this title. Thank the devs for the hot take on the sale next week. I will be picking it up. Be well and take care.
The Falconeer, the previous game from the dev set in the same universe in which you ride a giant falcon into battle was pretty cool too.
Wait, this is by the Falconeer guy? That's the same guy who made the Moonpath to Elsweyr mod for Skyrim (which is a pretty spectacular mod, especially considering how early into Skyrim modding it was made)
@@bramblebrew6020I had no idea it was the Moonpath dev.
I'm 100% gonna pick this up when it's on sail. I like the concept and enjoy the visual and vibe. There seems to be some fair depth as well.
The city building part is great but I really wish it had infinite trade routes. Covering the ocean in my civilization would have made this a 10/10 to me.
I cannot get enough of this game!!
Splatt, you're the man that got me hooked 😂
"Play with your gut, not with your brain." Seems like peak Splattercat gameplay.
Awesome, instant Like as usual!
Bulwark's dev is amazing, and is constantly updating. This is one of the most original games in an original universe and it does building sims differently. Buy it.
Bought the game on release and was instantly hooked. Absolutely hyped for the coming update!
Eating leftover pizza while watching you describe buildings as pizza slices.
The devs understands how gamers' brains works. If you tell them not to buy something in good faith, they absolutely will.
Splat loves his city builders.
super fun, very chill game. somehow not super deep, but also really deep in nuance and variability. Its fun just to build and chill.
I feel my brain melting just watching, I do not want to think what would happen if I tried to play this. But is looks pretty awesome, so I am sure one day I will melt my brain.
It's quite relaxing once you get the hang of it. You're going to end up spending most of your time just trying to make your towns look extra awesome.
It's really not that complicated, in fact I would consider it a chill out game
Eh, its boring, its more of a design engine than a city builder.
I've had this game wish-listed forever. There just aren't enough airship games, so I'm gonna buy it one way or another.
Love this game Splat! I'd love to see more of it; it's a beautiful game, which normally doesn'y appeal to me.
I like how unique this game is, and i prefer city builders that has dangers and massives "bases" and some logistic this definietly gose to my steam wish list.
Got this on your recommendation and I’m stoked. This stuff is huge.
I just like the world building elements.. very nice and phantastic
The thing that bugs me about this game whenever it comes up is how.... abstract it is. The word is covered with water, but somehow you're still magically finding enough wood and stone and farmable soil to make these enormous towers and arches and grow a population that eats...something. There's almost a kind of mismatch between the graphical resolution of what it's saying is going on, versus the actual mechanical resolution of the choices you can make. Dunno if that makes sense
I had a blast with the demo. I'll wait for the sale! Thanks!
I've been watching a couple of these, figured I want to play this game now.
You had me till “Kevin Costner” seriously though the devs asking you to let us know about an upcoming sale is awesome 🙌 big thumbs up from me.
Thanks for showcasing. ^^
11:37 never change Splatt 😂😂
I would love to see a short series on this game by you.
27:17 If I remember correctly, you couldn't build on top of them before. I think the patch changed that as it seems to have a large focus on lessening the tedium with QOL-features, such as having more map markers and so on.
yes there is pages of QoL improvements , most brought up by the community, but there is also like easily double the world content there as well and overhauled combat a sail-able flagship, stuff like that
its huge
You sure know how to find the obscure games from Indies... Great stuff. I got the Surroundead game , good stuff, especially the debug (cheat) feature.
I somehow missed this game and it looks fantastic.
ThankYou SirSplatt
love the graphics on this one, would love to see a starcom unknown space gameplay with these graphics on this kind of world. like.. replace space ship with air ship and leave the exploration, combat, etcetera. I'm not so much into city building as exploration, combat, etc..
great look though.
I picked this up a few months ago and ended up bouncing off of it. I'll have to check it out when the new patch drops.
Our lumbarrgh will be long and strong!
24:48 Can anyone tell me what that grey, leveled kind of area is? It's just to the right of the score at this timestamp, the score being 1534. It almost looks like a soda can top, just not sure what it is.
Just above the "Bannerless Citadel"
pretty sure that its just a ruin
I didnt really understand the game but seems cool.
11:34 But will it be ready to get the friction on?
the devs are certified Gs
Devs seem great. Not sure if the water style world is for me. Might need a demo.
Would you do a video on undecember?
So this big update is out now ? part of the game I would buy ?
Food, water or heat isn’t an issue in this game?
I don't know about calling those things you're putting into the water "floaters," because that means poops and corpses. I had a schnitzel there last time I was in Berlin. Poopsencorpses.
@falconeerdev any chance of getting a ttrpg of The Great Ursee world in the future?
idk man with these solo devs who want 20 bucks for a good game...i kinda feel bad not paying the full price. support your favourite indies, its not like they get super rich in most cases but need to make enough to make more games. or safe 10 bucks if that makes you feel better, im not your mom
Honestly I feel like some indie games are priced just so they can do these large sales where the new price is what they actually want for the game. A $20 game that's 50% off sounds like a much better deal than a $10 game, plus when it goes on sale it's easier to discover.
Cool !

🔥🔥🔥
Will there be a free build Mode?
there all ready is

Nice
The "mechanics aren't clear, you just have to mess around to find out how things work" isn't something that really appeals to me, so it will most likely be a pass for me. If people really enjoy that type of design philosophy, though, then that's fine. If it's not for me, it's for someone else.
Seeing the video I was thinking that the only thing this needs now is a political layer, and it sounds like that is being developed atm, so I am very much looking forward to this.
Woot!
Omg hell yea
Wow AN INDIE GAME SHOCKING 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm just being sarcastic
This game looks better and better, gonna have to pick it up this time.
🖤
yeah
Already own the game and all I really remember from it is just spamming these towers over and over again to make them gigantic and bulging out, no idea if it did anything or how the game work in total....
Upgrading your towers increases your population, which unlocks stuff for that settlement's faction.
@@alltat that technically is a fairly recent addition, the game has a more normal unlock tree and even credits to buy stuff earned by growing population. So I'm sorry the early version didn't pop for you,., if you haven't refunded give it a go later this week, and /or leave some comments to see if it's improved for you (this would be the goal, but if there's a lesson in it for me if it doesn't still apprciated)
Perimeter 4
👍
gg
After trying the demo for this I found that I aggressively disliked it. There's something about how the player interacts with the world, the interface and how it operates, that just really rubs me wrong. On a fundamental way it does not work the way my brain wants it to. I can't think of another game that I've had this sort of a reaction to before.
🙂👍
It definitely looks original! I wish I could say more positive things, but I just don't get it. Not my cup of tea I'm afraid.
honestly i tired this but you run out of content within a hour, there not many resources you can get so you end up waiting for random side quest to show up, when i played docks had to be spammed as you could only use one for one type of resource so a island with multiple resources ended up having dozen of docks with separate trade routes, there no real way for any major expansion, war with factions is kinda weak and bear bones, same with diplomacy, great idea but not enough depth to make it worth playing
I hope you be happy to hear that is one comment I worked very hard to remedy, there is double if not more content in the game world now, a more normal progression system/economy with buying units and so forth, you can even unlock sailing around in a boat. And combat/war has been completely revamped..
Anyways, this coming update is 100% driven by comments and feedback such as yours and I hope in the coming days you'll see some of your gripes fixed when the full thing comes out.;)
@@falconeerdev nice to see a dev who take criticisms fairly, perhaps i will give it a second try in the future, and hope i be nicely surprised
@@sword4005 please do and drop a comment both good or bad on how you felt it compares now.. I've had a lot of training now in handling feedback .lol. I actually really look for it now..
@@falconeerdev " I've had a lot of training now in handling feedback'
am now picturing a feedback handling trainer.
you will drop and give me 20 'thank you for your inputs'!
Seeing someone use "bear" where "bare" should be, not the other way around, huh, it's the first time for me. Cool.
Can you play this game as a proper strategy, without this blimp?
I am already taking this off my wish list, as seeing buildings built in 1 second, with just a click, is the opposite of "building" for me. Folding your arms and blinking to build something in these types of games is so unthematic to me, it's a huge deal breaker.
UpGrad3!!
And the whichihiches, is that not s3x, drUgZ & rock 'n roll?
Isn't this the same Dev QQ mad-ing about Steams 30%?
true, but that was in response to a thread about giving small indies 25% over their first bit of revenue. Someone used a friendly inter-indie tweet to make an article and a point. I still stand by my point that I watch to many of my friends go out of business at the moment , too many small games that fail badly, that having a discussion what would help devs and it pivoting to what could valve do.. Isn't a mad rant against steam ;)
It's a great platform, it deserves its cut. Actually the best idea that came out of that entire thread was a discussion about the costs Steam incurs to host games. The idea was born that if Steam could discount the 30% equal to the saving they would get from smaller games, heavily optimized for filesize for instance could be passed on to devs that took the effort to reduce their footprint and thus the cost for Valve. That way Valve has to pay les in hosting costs and shares some of those gains with the devs. And only small devs would organically benefit or feel the need to optimize in order to make some small yet livesaving % extra.
So folks got a bit defensive, but in the end it's just fantasizing about what would be a faired place for indies.., I get very passionate and use bigger words than I should, and that bites me in the ass regularly ;)
@@falconeerdev thank you for clarifying
@@TsunamiWombat np to be honest I worded that tweet too strong, so my bad..
@@falconeerdev still, you responded to a rather immaturely phrased youtube comment of all things rather maturely.
