  • I'm adding a spine to the journal, which went easier than expected. So I follow up by deconstructing a fabric sample book... which was a lot more involved than expected. Let me know in the comments below if you've ever tried to take apart one of these sample books, either fabric, wallpaper, etc. How did it go? Do you have any tips on making it easier?

I absolutely love your journals because they look like all the things I love but at times don’t think I should put into my journals. Thanks for your video.🥰❤

Good choice on tape 😊 well done for getting the cardboard off the fabric I think I would have just cut the fabric with scissors as I needed using the line of the cardboard to cut straight 😊😂

I was very tempted to just cut out the samples I wanted, but the cardboard covered up too much of the fabric pieces, so they would have looked weird if I'd done it that way. 🥰💖

Hi Marci! I’ve taken apart many fabric sample books. It takes a lot of man (or women) handling to get them open. It just takes some time and care. You did a great job actually. A lot of times I just twist the staples around in a loop as I pull it out. I think if the pliers would have been bigger it might have been easier for you. That’s a beautiful sample book. I will be excited to see how the pocket comes out! ❤

Thanks for the tips, Sarah! I will try using larger pliers on the other 2 books so it's easier. My hand got really sore with this one! 😆💖

Glad you chose the white cover with gold writing. I had a terrible Allegic reaction to some chemical in an addiseive spray had to use cream and histamines as my arm was covered in a rash so I'm very wiry what I use now I sticking to my pritt stick for my glue stick that has been around for years and child friendly because my skin is so sensitive. For anything stronger I use molding paste that seems to be fine for my skin as its acrylic based not chemical 😊

Hey i just was gifted a huge tote of fabric samples, like you showed, mine were already taken apart and ready to yse. What a blessing. One thing i thought of using them for was a quick easy fabric flip. Your pocket idea is col also. Does anyone else have any good ideas for these samples, i have all kinds of sizes and material.

Yes, I think they would be great for fabric flips too. I was thinking they could be used for shaker cards as well or as a window on a page, with the page behind peeking through. TFW and sharing your ideas, Cindy!
